IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION: PAYMENT REQUESTS TEMPORARILY DISABLED : JULY 5, 2013

However, it will mean your regularly scheduled Payment Request cut off will be moved to Friday July 12, 2013.
o   Payment Requests Suspended July 5, 2013.
o   Payment Request functionality will be brought back on line Thursday July 11, 2013.
o   Cut offs for ALL payment requests for ALL payment methods will be extended until Friday July 12, 2013 - 9:00am.

Sounds like the site is finally toast. That is a major disruption.

That's just sad. What the heck are they doing over there at the IT department? Do they continuously fiddle with their code, unintentionally breaking things?

Pathetic effort. The only microstock agency to ever have had to suspend the payment facility.

Let's just hope it really is for 'technical reasons'.

They somehow screwed up the Getty Images -> iStock payments, and paid them out twice, or into the wrong "basket" or something like that.  So they aren't letting people withdraw it until it is fixed.

You sometimes wonder how a company can be making so much money with such incompetent staff.

I think it has to do more with a dated system then incompetent staff. All the recent changes and ingestion may be too much for their system. For some reason when I think of their servers I see a bunch of band-aids all over it...hmm that might make for a good stock image ;)

This is difficult to believe, since they're also weeks late on Partner Program stats. I'm getting pretty paranoid about getting my money from them. They owe me more than $1500 right now.

Just my opinion.

Nah - incompetence is the obvious contender here.  It's clear that anything they undertake is devoid of any design or planning.  Professional project management is about as undervalued as professional photography and it's just as obvious when undertaken by amateurs.

It could be worse, they could start paying out just once a month.  I'm ok with one week being missed as long as I still get payments every week.
Getting paid per month is almost a global standard. Doesnt matter if you pay per week or month, as long as you get paid when due. The problem with IS is that they first delay your PP earnings and then also delay your payout. People get in trouble when such things happen. Maybe you sit on a ton of money, others dont have that luxury.

Incompetent staff at the top who didn't know when to call for a complete rewrite.

hey, lay off Getty....those guys simply need the upfront capital to pay for their new houses....you guys are heartless :)

No, there will be an extra weeks delay if you cash out every Sunday like I do.

Unless I've completely misunderstood what that note was about.

Ah, right, got it now.

Bet I don't get paid on Monday though like I usually would a week in arrears. It's not good however you look at it. If they sold some of my flipping photos for a change I'd be a lot more forgiving.

After all thats been happening, you have confidence that it will work out that way?

Just my opinion.

Exactly!  Does anybody really believe the time frame that they've laid out?

You have summed it up beautifully Ron.  It is surprising to me that anyone, even the most ardent fanboy or Istock management shill could defend their negligence and incompetence with OUR money, at this point.

That never happens because management will never accept the cost. It's always "just one more" patch, temporary change, bug fix, and a promise to clean it all up later.   With everything that's happened at IS lately, the site code probably looks like the plumbing under Manhattan.

This typically continues until the software people just burn out and leave, and then things get even worse because the new guys don't know the history and don't fully understand the implications of changes they're told to make.

Been there, done that.
