It has been while but they are humans and busy humans and with a ton of uploads and them having to go through each file I can see how things can get bogged down at times...

Puh-leasse. They sub-contract their reviewing to India and a company which, to my mind, makes a complete hash of it. That apart, it is up to Pond5 to put in place a Service Level Agreement with their sub-contractor specifying 97% of contributions evaluated within X days.

Please elaborate on the outsourcing, I can't tell if this is a stab in the dark or based on fact. If this is true then great, I'll just resubmit my rejected files (which sell elsewhere, btw)...

They use an Indian company called V2 for much of the outsourcing http://www.v2solutions.com/ (yes, I know they have a Silicon Valley address but that's not where their cheap labour is). You will see this if you follow the link in the curator response (it's not exclusive, they use other reviewers also). Nothing wrong in outsourcing to India if they have (a) reasonable SLAs in place for turnaround (b) an adequately trained workforce able to make consistent judgements on the assets they review and (c) a management structure able to ensure this is the case and make changes when necessary.

They have none of the above and their response when questioned, 'our curators have the final say' was the last straw for me: I just stopped uploading.  No hissy fit required, plenty other agencies.  Stills weren't selling anyway - one sale in the last three months.

Cool, thanks for the info. I don't care where they review from or who does it (provided they know what they are doing :) I got a couple of footage rejects not long ago which I think were nonsense. I'll just sit on them a while then upload them again with different titles... Sneaky.

I presume they are getting a lot more uploads than a year ago.  Then there's 4k, the files are much bigger, so it must take them longer to review.

Yeah perhaps you are correct, Sharpshot. Footage does seem to be gaining momentum now. I've also been waiting ages at 123RF, and Shutterstock were about 8 or 10 days for review too.

Tyler TB: I have clips that have been waiting review for over a month now, any word on when they will be reviewed?

Pond5: Hi guys! Please contact [email protected]. I'll let them know to look out for your messages.

Timo Hensen: Hmm the mail comes back.. Saying the email adres does not exist.

I have a strange feeling that our beloved microstock business every day is becoming a greater joke.
But, still is nice to receive $ $ $ $ every month  :)
Just, keep calm.

weathernewsonline

In the P5 forums Admin have stated that the delays will be in the 3-4 week range and to expect the delays to last into January.

I noticed SS issued a statement as well and review times are a bit longer.

Maybe everyone is following my lead all of a sudden and uploading 24/7? :)

videostocker

Update. About more than 5 weeks waiting for footage review. Still waiting.

MartinD

Hopefully everything is ok with Pond5 and it will not be a Revostock 2.0...

Footage is waiting for 30 days now...

Regards,

Martin

They are paying out, so nothing like Revostock.  I don't see long review times as a problem, many sites have had times when they have too much new content for their reviewers to cope with.  I get more concerned when sites aren't getting any new content.

Hi,

Are review time at Pond5 getting longer and longer? I remember at the beginning of the year 2015 where review time was between 5 to 10 days more or less. Now I've content that is waiting for review since 20 days ago and counting.

I don't know if they are aware that if they do that with every contributor they are losing money (And so are we too) with potential sales waiting in his servers for nothing.

Are you experiencing this long review times?

same for me -- but to "long review times" you may want to add "unreasonable rejection reasons" for there are a few girls on Pond5 who obviously have their own ports in mind and are rejecting EVERYTHING on ridiculous grounds (like out of focus and stuff) where pictures that have been accepted to basically ALL other agencies are concerned.

Still waiting. Now 35 days which means 5 weeks.😟

inacceptable -- there are schedules to keep, and if you are playing to these you can simply forget about it with an agency working like Pond5 now!

Working? Nobody works there. They are all on eternal vacation living on our 50% and Investors $$$, as I said long ago.

Seemingly they are not employees of a curator company (!) in a distant country somewhere in Asia..😐

All mine have been reviewed now.
