Sundays tend to be slow

Minsc

This whole weekend will be slow, including Monday. It's Memorial Day weekend in the US and slow sales are normal during this holiday.

You're looking for alternatives after one day of having zero sales... and on a weekend? You might be jumping the gun slightly. What happens if you get no sales for two days in a row... delete your entire portfolio and burn all your equipment?

I personnaly evaluate MY performance when my images don't sell...
and I always have looked for alternatives, even when sales were good.

well saturday and sunday are always slow, never had more than 8 download...but it's clear that they changed something in the last week.

this month i had great start than after 15 super slow, practically only sub and zero extended.
from march 2016 i practically grow portfolio 85%...i add lifestyle and food photography made with pro model and food stylist, i was more an editorial.
i am experiencing just a n increase in global earning, all agency, of 20%.
maybe had i not uploaded nothing i would have experienced massive fall who knows.
i expected more earning.
it's clear that at 1 million new file a week you can't do nothing at this point to improve earning significantly apart uploading 10k content week.;:)

i suspext also a lot is decided in algorithm in ss...is not possibile that despite an increase in upload, better oriented content, i always have the same fixed download everyday in the last year.

as i told many times microstockis experiencing the overflow of content from country where producing is practically zero cost, i have been one month in an eastern europe country....produced 2000 files, with very good quality starting from model booked from agency also, paying like 500 dollar of cost. that's why there are literally 10000 user from russia ukraine serbia now producing million of content...is cheap.
i hope stocksy open again, and my start with offset will produce good money. i decided many years ago to keep all best photos only from rm, and so far this month rm has saved my bill.

point out to me where i said i will leave ss?

i understand you dont follow people around on the forum, but i think i have been pretty clear that my sales have dropped around 50% and havent had any zero sales for many years until this year. i never had zero sales on a weekend, on christmas day, on memorial day, on the 4th, or whatever day.

awesome, so when your sales drop by 50% is because your images started suck.ing one day to the next.

As came up on another thread ss's collection size increase is now outstripping growth in payments massively, by as much as 5 times by my calculations. And the difference is getting worse. Everyone should be looking at alternatives about now and a zero dl day would be a heck of a wake up call for me too.

Yes it has been said many times...think we are all at risk of a sudden swing due to an algorithm change.

Strewth, guys. Be professional about it. Take some photos to illustrate the menstrual hygiene concept. How can you expect to get sales if you don't take advantage of the opportunities?

Spacefootage, i am just getting to apoint where i lose faith that it will correct itself. Ss always had ups and down for the last 3-4 years, but now the trend is really down. and getting no downloads on any given day is very worrying. slow downs on memorial day or christmas days are expected, but zero...... thats sign of the new times

To be honest, I'm waiting for it to happen to me. Saturdays have been dire for a couple of months, but so far I've managed to get by without a zero sales day since May 2005. I'll be sad to see that record end.

Microstockphoto

Baldrick, agreed, that day happened to me this year after going without zero donwloads for a decade. and it angers me, because ss is taking the istock route. lowered acceptance criteria, lowered quality criteria and increased quantities have bloated the library with 100 million images in 5 years. they had 25 million images in 8 years before that.

And it's also the start of Ramadan, with reduced working hours, for billions of people in Asia.

Cider Apple

A Bank Holiday Monday tomorrow for the UK too (Bank Holiday is a holiday for everyone for those outside UK).

Microstockphoto

ok, let me repeat myself, i never had zero sales on a weekend, on christmas day, on memorial day, on the 4th, or whatever day

so you can come up with all possible celebratory days, it still doesnt change the fact that that didnt hinder me before.

Yes it has been said many times...think we are all at risk of a sudden swing due to an algorithm change.

I've said it many times, and I think it's obvious. Don't blame the algorithm for the search or some other conspiracy like blackout, capping or low price favorites.

140,265,339 royalty-free stock images / 1,225,157 new stock images added this week on the SS site.

Over 1 million new competing images a week. Over 140 Million competing images.

The market exposure for each of us is down, the competition is up and the entire collection size has changed. All other factors staying the same, except we can't possibly stay up with these numbers, sales will drop. It's not a mystery at all. Dilution and diversity.
