I start uploading there. I like simplicity of their workflow. There no categories, they process IPTC and everything is online. Then you can change it if you do not like defaults. Rejections are high but I kind like 0-1 approach: rejected or accepted. No fancy reasons for rejection just comment that they are taking what they think would sell. On the top of that they pay for upload so I am not feeling like wasting my time for them. Also good thing is that they have API for third-parties from the beginning which in time translates to larger distribution network.

Well, I'm one happy chappy!

Over the past week, I uploaded 1245 photos on to the Zoonar website, after reading the financial incentive the company is currently offering to photographers uploading to the site. Out of these 1245 images, 902 were accepted on to the site. Out of the 902 accepted, 886 were accepted on to Polylooks.

For the 886 what were accepted on to Polylooks at .15Euro cents each, I received 132.90Euros. I lodged a request for payment less than 48 hours ago, and an hour ago, I received the payment in my PayPal account! Now, that's prompt payment!!!

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I've had reason to send a few e-mails to the site, requesting advice and assistance. All my correspondence ended up being with Michael. I was surprised by the promptness of his replies. This gave me the impression that this company realises how important to their business photographers are. I'm very impressed!

Now that I've received my payment, I'm really looking forward to seeing how my images sell on this site. With all the dealings I've had with the company, I truly believe they deserve to be successful!

I can do nothing else but strongly recommend Zoonar!

Please notice: We offer Moneybookers as additional payoff service for russian (and from other countries) photographers who don`t use PayPal or can`t use PayPal there. Moneybookers will implemet in 3-5 weeks (maybe earlier but i don`t want to promise yet).

I'm glad about the Moneybookers option, because I'm from a country where Paypal is not available.

I uploaded a number of photos, and I must agree that review is strickt. I didn't do calculations, but I think just over 80% was accepted. That doesn't sound bad, but everything I uploaded was approver by Shutterstock, and many of the rejected photos were also approved by iStockphoto.

Everyting accepted by Zoonar was also accepted by Polylooks and APIS. I must add that I'm impressed by the admin at Zoonar.

For good incomes please use Polylooks AND Picturemaxx/APIS for your photos, because 90% of all magazin editors buy photos over the picturemaxx network.

I`m no dreamer. We never will reach incomes like istock, shutterstock or other from the big 5. But i`m sure that the combination of polylooks, zoonar and picturemaxx will generate enough money so thats worthwhile to put photos to us. And we will search some more partners for you. The submitting process is easy and fast. We hope to offer 1-2 more partners so it will be surely effectiv to use zoonar as additional stock when you get "4 or 5 one one strike".

Zoonar will make a complete site relaunch in mai/juni 2010. After that we start a marceting campaign. I`m sure that our good expansion rates will go on. But they will not reach the big 5.

That`s a realistic view i think.

No remarks about the selection since they know their market of course better than we. I didn't try landscapes/landmarks yet. Most rejects were LCV for their audience. Too early to say anything based on just 10 uploads.

Recommended.

I did. Compared to Fotolia flash uploader for instance, Java looks very old-style, especially its file browser without thumbs and one by one. Or perhaps I'm missing something...

My experience with the process of uploading with Zoonar Media Manager was without any problems. I did have a question for Michael concerning the Partner Sites which he answered within a few hours. You have two alternatives:

Polylooks & APIS/Picturemaxx

or

Fotofinder & APIS/Picturemaxx

Polylooks is a traditional micro sites where the images are RF where as Fotofinder is a macro site. I have my “licenced” images now with them through Zoonar.

As to Editorial images, you have to set the release to “is not available”

It is slow if you add file by file. But you can add entire folders and then it's fast to do.
The workflow is indeed different to what I used with other sites, but if you accept it it works very fast.

* upload complete folder using that external Java application
* after images accepted edit entire group - add RF license, info about releases and submit to partners
* that's it

It's a bit annoying to me that for adding license, release info etc I need to do it one by one and can't to altogether - but again as I can do it with a large group of uploaded pics I don't feel it's a big deal...

I guess you just have to click "has release", since I found no place to upload the release itself.
Another point is the "free German translation" of the keywords. How long does it take? Can we check it somewhere?

Thanx for the info. So obviously, for non-exclusive RF (that is also on microstock sites), you have to enable Polylooks & APIS/Picturemaxx.
Editorial is clear now.
Remains the question about the pricing. "Discount" or "Normal" for non-exclusive RF?

I believe Michael said that few pages above - they ask us to set "discount" for all photos that are available on other microstock sites. "Standard" is for midstock and "premium" for macrostock pics not sold elsewhere on microstock.

No real reason to create a temp folder, just load the needed folder and on the right side right click the file you don't want and select "delete file".

Here is our actually price system. You can see, that "normal" ist much to expansive for microstockers. The wording "normal" is from another time, today microstock is also a normal level. That`s why we`ll rename these three levels after relaunch and also build a new pricing system with a new merchadising-license but cheaper prices.
