From what I heard - the "floods" (& the reason there is deliberately "no govt help" and in fact trying to "stop" ppl from helping others) is because...

Apparently there is a company trying to "buy" the "mining" rights for both lithium & quartz (extremely profitable for the "ai" stuff/computer chips/electronic vehicles, literally worth 'billions' of dollars), and the residents were refusing to sell - so the company hired a bunch of planes to do cloud seeding to deliberatley 'flood' the mountains (which is virtually unheard of)... and they don't want other people helping them (literally trying to bankrupt the residents - "force" them out of their homes), hence no support/guard/etc - and in fact people trying to help are being 'prevented' by the national guard/fema/etc... does that sound accurate/is that correct from what you see?

Anyways... what can one actually do to assist you?

I have lived in these mountains most of my life, the news is not talking about or showing you how bad it really is! Whole towns are completely gone, I have been working the past 4 days in just helping who we can. Aunt's house gone, work place flooded and having to relocate and we have it good!!! The amount of destruction is beyond words! Zero national guard or FEMA you are completely on your own, people are starving and have no clean water, 2,000 people stuck in one location has gone six days with no food. It is a pity that something like this is happening in the richest and most highly developed country like the USA. But now you know what has been happening in Ukraine for 10 years and especially for the last 2.5 years. You found yourself in similar conditions. The only difference is the number of people killed. How many people have died in your country?

I have been trying to follow this disaster and am amazed that with a coming election there is no support at all.

1. US Democrats need money for elections, so they don't care about the fate of the people.
2. If aid is provided, the disaster will be constantly covered in the media in great detail, and this is bad news that will lower the ratings of the Democrats and Harris. I think that the media also talks little and without details about the disaster because they are under the control of the Democrats.
3. It could also be revenge on the part of the Democrats. The states that suffered from the disaster are mostly populated by Republican supporters. I don't think that what the author of the topic is talking about is shown and spoken about on the main TV channels of the USA.
In order to spend a lot of money on helping people, you need to talk about it to everyone and you need to show it. And all this is not beneficial to the Democrats. This will lower their rating, because the catastrophe has happened and is happening. This will not give the opportunity to strike at states that support the Republicans.
