1. New coffee maker maybe espresso too
2. New softer desk chairs
3. Menu improved at lunch counter
4. Employee workout room and free massages
5. Casual Friday including Pizza for lunch and let off early for the weekend.

Oh contributors? I can't write what it means on a polite forum. But it would have the same weight as the warning for someone going to prison: "watch out behind you if you drop your soap in the shower..."  :)

It means they are excited about a way for them to make more money.

We can (probably) heave a small sigh of relief if it's not coming directly from our cut somehow.
Get excited though? Probably not.
In the ten years I've been involved in this business I don't think I can remember many times when there was really all that much for us to get excited about in any announcement. Certainly not in the last three or four years.

In other words we don't need to be excited by what gets them excited.

At this point it looks like any "exciting news" for contributors means only one thing: we all get a good laugh in MSG.

to me it's like in those kungfu movies where the dogs and beggars rush to catch the crumbs falling of the table or the leftovers after the customers finish eating and leave the table.
exciting news to the artist? oh yes, it's the announcement that we now have brand new tables and the crumbs and leftovers will taste better because the dogs and beggars feel more important now with rushing at the new tables.

Micro Stock agencies caught a virus?.... who is next?  >:(

"By all accounts, Pond5 has been doing quite well recently. The New York-based company saw revenues of $19 million in 2014, up from $12 million in 2013, and has relocated to 30,000 square feet of swanky new office space in Manhattans posh SoHo neighborhood. Its also been on a bit of a hiring push, adding a VP of finance in October and looking for marketing and operations executives"
*TechCrunch 2 hours ago...

"While Mr. Bennett acknowledged that his industry is in a time of transition, he hopes the Public Domain Project will help the company distinguish itself in the marketplace.
"This helps tell our story," he said. "We know there's been a lot of activity in the sector, but we think this project will help let people know that we're the good guys."

Whenever I see the words Exciting News from stock company, I read it to mean 'lube up and grab your ankles'.

"Exciting News" usually means I have to put on my wellington boots and grab a shovel and wade through a festering swamp of BS to discover which bit (if any) is exciting and for whom. All whilst keeping an eye out for the metaphorical crocodiles trying to eat my income as well as my arse.

'Exciting' News = We have decided that we would like to buy a new helicopter, yacht, home in prestigious location, company, etc and have plans to relocate our offices to the most expensive vanity real estate locations on the planet.

We have decided that we are 'ENTITLED' to take the funds to pay for the above out of your hide. We do NOT care how this drop in income will affect your welfare, therefore we do not want to hear you whine about it and will not listen or care if you do!
