Seeing as how many of you use Photoshop to touch up photos to sell, I was wondering if you've registered for or tried Adobe CS Review? I work with Adobe and would love to hear your feedback if you have. CS Review is a great way to simplify the creative review process - it could actually come in handy for many of you asking for photo critiques as it allows you to comment on images within Photoshop and take action on the comments directly within the program.

I use Photoshop a lot but didn't even know something like that existed.

I'm sure it'll appeal to the flickr community but not sure why it would appeal to a stock photographer.

If it's this:

Create and share reviews online and get feedback on design projects all from within your Creative Suite desktop application.
no thanks. Not another Facebookish time-waster, sharer and chitchatting crap attached to my PS. PS is about working on images without mother in laws popping up asking wazzup.
I even have to unplug my network cable nowadays when I start PS since it keeps nagging for updates. A mere upgrade of the Reader yesterday installed McAfee on my PC without even asking. Now I will lose time kicking it out since it keeps asking me to "upgrade".

Yeah, you can register for the service three ways...either by  purchasing CS5, downloading a trial, or signing up online for the service itself. The service is complimentary for 12 months. Here's some more information [nofollow] about it if you're interested.

Yeah that makes sense. Though, I think it could be helpful for some stock photographers as many of you ask for critiques of why photos weren't accepted to particular sites. It could help with getting specific feedback on the photos as others could post comments directly on the photo of where improvements need to be made or problems exist.

I have Photoshop & Illustrator CS5 and get lots of junk e-mail from Adobe but I'd never heard of this service. How long has it been around?

Couple of thoughts just based on looking at the link you posted.

Many of the photographers here are one person businesses - designers might be more interested in the back and forth discussion you're trying to support.

You're very cagey about the price of this - I can't see what it is from any of the places I looked. I don't care if something's free for a year, if it's insanely expensive thereafter. I would never sign up for anything "free" without knowing what the eventual price was.

It appears that this sharing involves the content to be discussed getting uploaded to some server somewhere. Some businesses might want to know a bit more about privacy and security issues before uploading content that may be proprietary to servers outside their organization.

Ah it's about paying actually? I knew it, since the guy ignored my remarks. In a next post he will start a slick sales talk about all the benefits a subscription to his "service" has and then we will realize we wasted time again on a spammer. Been there, done that. If I need advice about rejections, I know the right place where to ask. The site support itself. Gnite.

OMG, he ignored these brilliant remarks, really?.... for shame:

Spam? Speak for yourself.... some people actually pay for things they find useful, you know? And it seems related to Photoshop to me (being in the Photoshop forum)

I didn't mention "spam", FYI. Please quote me correctly. I just said it's a time-waster. A forum can be fine (this is one) since you can browse it at leisure and read it asynchronously. I also didn't call the Yuri Monopod guy a spammer since his product was on topic and informative. But if you like to pay for a chitchat program, that's fine.

This seems to be aimed at the corporate world, where endless meetings and micromanaging are the norm. How someone who is creative would get any value out of this is not apparent to me. It seems like a slow motion version of spell check for people who have the programs, but not the ability.

I have Photoshop & Illustrator CS5 and get lots of junk e-mail from Adobe but I'd never heard of this service. How long has it been around?

CS Live has been around since the release of CS5 and contains five different services: BrowserLab, CS Review, Adobe Story, SiteCatalyst NetAverages and Acrobat.com.

You're very cagey about the price of this - I can't see what it is from any of the places I looked. I don't care if something's free for a year, if it's insanely expensive thereafter. I would never sign up for anything "free" without knowing what the eventual price was.

Regarding pricing, this is taken from the CS Live FAQ's on the Adobe website:
Quote
What does CS Live cost?

When you sign up for CS Live before April 30, 2011, you can take advantage of 12 months of complimentary access. By the end of your complimentary period, Adobe may offer for-purchase subscriptions. Final pricing of for-purchase subscriptions is to be determined, but is currently estimated at US$19.99$29.99 per month or US$199$299 per year.

Thanks for your thoughts and feedback on the service. Always helpful to hear!
