Hard to say really ... I've been on Shutterstock since 2006, I've gotten used to getting those 38c per subscription download and now get some as low as 10 cents and some as high as $1.72. more single&other sales as well. Also 1/3 so far is from enhanced downloads, so could be treated as anomaly (lifelong earnings it's just ~5%).

The fact that you don't get enough earnings doesn't mean they need two years to process the payout. I get paid every month (within the first 10 days of a given month). No surprises there. On most sites it looks like an automated (or semiautomated) process. Fotolia makes me think someone has to do it by hand. I'm just talking about the unpredictability and the fact they don't have any strict rules when are you getting paid (besides the 50 credits limit).
