Adobe Stock / Re: What is up with Fotolia??
April 10, 2008, 23:48
I'm getting consistent sales with Fotolia but the reasoning behind rejections I've gotten from them lately have been quite puzzling alot of the times.

I've been at FP for a few months and have sold approximately 6 photos there.  I price my RF portfolio's cap price at $5 & $10.  I also have this site linked to my personal site because if it gets alot of customers I can get the most potential earnings here!

how can you recognize some product by serial number? please.....

also another ridiculous rejection at IS:

Quote+We regret to inform you we cannot accept this image on the basis of counterfeiting statues and legal issues that this may cause.

LOL!

Yep,  there's alot of clothes hanger counterfeiters in the world I'm afraid!  :)

My account is a English (USA) account and I have alot of Eurpean sales.  I would guess about 55-60% of my sales are to European customers.

Based on all the great web sites you all have I have to assume the extra exposure is generating more revenue!

I wish you all continued success!

Heheh thanks for the tip ;)

Actully I get several custom design requests from people who visited my website. I also get several newsletter subscribers who are interested in info about the new designs I make each month.

I'm sure you do get alot of request!  Your work is nice!

Nice website Chode!    Love your Flash work because it's not too over the top but interactive enough to make your site interesting and fun!

Do you think your site has helped much with your stock exposure?  I'm sure it doesn't hurt!

I do it alot. I even sell graphics packs myself.

here is it :) http://www.3pod.gr Would love your comments.

Very nice website Tdoes ;)

Cheers

Konstantinos

Thank you 3pod,

I like your web site alot also!
Very unique and fun layout which fits your design style perfectly.  The only small comment I have is on your cover page.  If there was a way you could give more contrast between your text and the images it over lapse, it would make it easier for anyone that has some vision loss to read it.

Nice Work!

Anyone using their personal web site to help promote their stock portfolios?  I've just updated my site to include exposure for some of my stock portfolio at some sites I would love to see become more successful.

Some of your images might have been stolen.  It would be in your best interest to read this discussion and see if you have been a victim.  I went to the site in question and have seen alot of familiar photos from members of various stock sites!

123RF / Re: 123... yawn
January 28, 2008, 01:12
Just started uploading there for almost two months and have a portfolio of 567 images. I've had 29 downloads at 123RF this month with 13 of them subscription sales.  I have a diverse portfolio and a wide range of them have been downloaded there.

I have no idea what company will perform the best in 2008 but hopefully it's the one that pays its contributors the most commission.

I also think going exclusive at this time is way too early because this market is still developing.  I believe that most of the buyers, from large companies included, don't need exclusive images.  The company I work for uses exclusive images of its own products by its contracted photographers and downloads stock images from the companies that it feels gives them the best rates!

For what ever reason Istock doesn't want many graphics outside of Vector graphics.  No matter how good they are!

123RF / Re: Impressed (in a modest way)
December 17, 2007, 13:05
I've been on 123 for only one month and must say that so far I really like this site ! I like that I've already made some sales, there are no catagories to select in upload process, the review system seems fair, the host is resposive to questions, and there are multiple ways to gain exposure within the site itself.

So it seems, that including a clipping path means only more work for us without any real benefit? SY

Even though SS doesn't support clipping paths, they are a benefit to designers because you can re-edit the area you want to isolated.  The edges are also more clean for extraction than if you didn't use one.  That's a benefit when you want to place the object on a new background.

I maybe wrong but I think that FT is doing better for people who started recently (after V2)...

For me V2 is just starting to get to the V1 levels in sales since the quirks are being corrected.

My guess is at FT one has to have at least a thousand pics or more to make a $100 a month.

vphoto

My experience with Fotolia is that you can make $100 a month there with less than 1000 images.  I still don't have that many images there and have been able to get a few $100 monthly payouts there.  I have a diverse portfolio which seems to be the key!

Good news! Search engine appears to be fully functional! Try it! Not only first 7 words, but all (probably).

I hope so!  I've noticed that this week my sales have gone back up to vrs1 levels.  :)

I uploaded my first batch of photos at Albumo last week and i already got a sale.
So far so good i guess...

That's good to know.  I wonder if I should start inputting categories in the submittions.  :(
#122
I'm having no action at Albumo yet and I also never put any files in categories in hopes that they wouldn't be neccessary (I wish the category system wasn't neccessary!).

Anyone having consistant sales there? Do you think the buyers use the category search at this site, or is Albumo not being used that often by buyers?

Yep, their search function is still flawed regardless if your first seven keywords are the most relevant.
#125
SS cause I  make the most money there and uploading there is rather easy.
