General Stock Discussion / Can Stock Total Drop in Sales« on: May 24, 2016, 14:11 »
About a year ago I decided to upload to Can Stock and saw a pretty good return despite they are a low tier site. These last two months sales have taken a dive more than half in sales, anyone else seen this happen? Anyhow no more uploading to a site that does not perform!

Envato / Unusual Numbers« on: May 24, 2016, 14:07 »
So I tried putting a sample of my photos on Envato of Photodune. Here are my stats
Sales earnings this month (May), after associated author fees, & before taxes: $3.24 Your balance: $1.50 Total value of your sales, before taxes: $11.00 based on list price So my total value for my sales is $11 however I am only getting $1.50, what happened to the $3.24? So I uploaded 90 images and have a portfolio of 2300. If I was to upload my entire portfolio at this rate of earning I could expect about $38.33 a month. NO THANK YOU! Also It says I had 4 sales but only reports 3 Funny Numbers All Around. I will be deleting my account soon. 104
Software / Re: Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan and Lightroom Problems« on: April 04, 2016, 11:18 »
Well that is the problem right, having to upgrade all your software is not cheap. I have PS CS5 and don't want to pay for Photoshop again since the version I have does what I need, and then Lightroom too! The other thing I don't like is that Photoshop went to subscription so if I am correct and maybe I am not, but my understanding is they no longer sell you the actual software, you are leasing it month to month! Can you even use the newest Photoshop if your internet is down?
The dilemma is that I want to own my software and still use it on the newest Mac OSX. Also Mac no longer offers its older OSX versions for download. 105
Pond5 / Re: Pond5 do they review photos anymore?« on: April 03, 2016, 15:12 »http://www.microstockgroup.com/index.php?topic=27162.msg450588;topicseen#new Thanks Sean! So looks like about a 2half month review time and expect a 50% rejection from what I read. 106
Software / Re: Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan and Lightroom Problems« on: April 03, 2016, 14:37 »Is anyone running Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan and using Lightroom. Last year I upgraded to Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan when it came out and it was not compatible with Lightroom 4 and PS CS5. My entire system went down. I had to restore my Mac back to its original operating system and I have not upgraded to the newer OSX. This bothers me because I would like to be using Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan but I need my Adobe Software to work. Any update on these issues, have they fixed the problems now that its been a year? 107

Sounds like they are not serious about photos then or they must be understaffed!

Pond5 / Pond5 do they review photos anymore?« on: April 03, 2016, 14:15 »
I joined Pond5 over a week ago and still a batch of photos I uploaded to test out their site is just siting there waiting for review. I guess I'm just used to SS looking and approving the same day. Anyone know what Pond5 review time frame is like?
Thanks 110
PhotoDune / Photodune Confusion« on: April 03, 2016, 13:44 »
I am confused with this sites layout. I opened an account their this week and uploaded some photos to see what would happen, I can't find any website navigation that shows you your portfolio or accepted or rejected images. Anyone know where to look for that.
Thanks. 111
Alamy.com / Re: Login Issue Anyone?« on: April 01, 2016, 11:51 »
I was able to login using Chrome but I like to use Safari.
Here is the response Safari tells me. Safari can't open the page "http://secure.alamy.com/logonheader.asp?returnurl=http%3a%2f%2fwww.alamy.com%2fdefault.aspx&frmHeader=1" because Safari can't establish a secure connection to the server "secure.alamy.com". I have not changed a thing with my Safari so it is unusual that it would suddenly stop working with Safari. 112
Alamy.com / Login Issue Anyone?« on: April 01, 2016, 10:59 »
Just wondering if anyone is having problems loving into their Alamy account. Every time I try my Safari tells me that it can not make a connection to the secure login page for Alamy.
Thanks! 113
Pond5 / Pond5 Ranking without Video?« on: March 15, 2016, 12:22 »
Where do you think Pond5 ranks without video, if it was only photos? I'm thinking about adding my portfolio there but don't want to if they are not going to rank above Canstock. Also I see that their recommendation for your original file is $5 bucks. That seems really low and yet reading in the forum someone said they did it at $25 and Pond5 kept telling them they should lower their price.

Alamy.com / Alamy Refunds?« on: March 14, 2016, 14:46 »
Every now and then Alamy refunds the money made on a sale from my portfolio back to the purchaser. Typically it will be for a high price sale. So that means they are purchasing the larger file size getting the down load and then asking for a refund. Whats to prevent them from then using the photo and having paid nothing?

Off Topic / Re: Can we ban this idiot already?« on: March 03, 2016, 12:58 »
I posted several of his treads to google spam form so when they see his website link they will hopefully Sandbox his site never to be found again and all his efforts will be in vain including his .com version of his site.

Microstock News / Re: Has Yuri shut down his site?« on: March 02, 2016, 23:48 »
I have noticed that more keywords is not better especially with Fotolia. Fewer seems easier to manage when uploading to sites. So keywords should be easy to come up with by looking at your photo.

General Stock Discussion / Money Images in Photoshop Not Working« on: October 04, 2015, 02:07 »
I was trying to import an image into photoshop tonight that had a portion of a hundred dollar bill in it and Photoshop said it could not open the image due to Currency issues and then wanted to direct me to some currency website.
Has anyone else had this problem of Photoshop recognizing money in the image and rejecting them? It was flat on but it was only a third of the money. Anyone have a work around for this problem. I ended up using Gimp instead but its not the same as using photoshop and was a pain to get the results I needed. 121

Thanks for the info everyone, I certainly won't be contributing to Graphic Stock.

General Stock Discussion / Re: GraphicStock are you Insane?« on: September 28, 2015, 23:38 »Hi pixel8, just want to clarify some of your concerns here. (For context, our sister agency is VideoBlocks, hence my profile image.) First, GraphicStock's free trial, which is offered through certain partners, does not allow unlimited downloads. (That would be silly!) We allow up to 20 downloads per day for 7 days. Most of our customers pay $99 per year for full access to the library. Ok I can respect that, a promo. I was under the assumption that when it said download anything you want it meant as much as you want as well. My mistake, I do apologize for that. However $99 per year for full access to the library that in itself sounds bad for contributors. Can you tell us how many downloads that entails and what kind of compensation a contributor receives in return? 123
General Stock Discussion / Re: GraphicStock are you Insane?« on: September 28, 2015, 13:36 »
What bothered me about this site is that it is being promoted by Kelbyone. Kelby has been very successful and if he is behind it, that could be bad news for the industry. They certainly have a budget for advertising so its concerning.
I don't know what they were charging before and even though they only have 300K images its more than enough for small media companies who are looking to save money on content. I believe the majority of buyers of stock are small media companies. 124
General Stock Discussion / GraphicStock are you Insane?« on: September 28, 2015, 11:03 »
I don't know if anyone else has seen this but if you have and if your work is on this site Graphic Stock, I personally ask that you remove your work before the industry is completely destroyed! At what point are contributors going to come together and say enough already?
Graphic Stock is giving away unlimited photos for seven days with unlimited usage. Having been a graphic designer in the past for a media company I would simply go there and download for seven days straight and would have enough content to last for a long time, maybe even years if it was a well thought out download. If this continues down this path stock photography will eventually all be free with sites making money from advertising which means practically no payout for any contributor. Is there a law suit here? I thought I learned in school that this would be considered dumping and therefore driving down prices and illegal? 125
General Stock Discussion / FotoSearch« on: May 05, 2015, 10:51 »
Does FotoSearch accept contributors? Is anyone here on there? I could not find anything on their site for accepting contributors.
