Nice misleading bug then.

I found my own files under this RawFilms account.... another hidden "conspiracy" thing from Shutterstock? Or are a bunch of stolen files?? Or they earn money via our files through the fake account and then just give real authors crumbs of earnings.

Wasn't Shutterstock the agency that forbids images of animal in clothing, even if they are only photoshopped?
https://www.peta.org/blog/shutterstock-bans-unnatural-primate-stock-photos/

And now they make ads with dogs in suits?

Publicity aka free promotion.

@Harvepino, you are not the only one in this trend. It seems that once a contributor reaches a specific mass of files it doesn't go up in income anymore no matter the number of uploaded files. Neither the higher quality or variety of themes doesn't help. Funny thing is, that older and lower quality files still sell better.

Did had similar experience with my travel videos I put together. I got contacted by a big hotel owner for them to use the whole video for promotion. When I gave the price for it, they didn't respond anymore. I guess they wanted it for free. No go, ladies.

hhahahaha, the esp site statistics say $105, but the email "Remitance" says $96, which is just under the payout threshold. What a * **.

EDIT: oh, they paid anyway. At least some good news.

Did the reality of $79 prices kicked in? No wonder they had sales before if they were dumping the whole industry...

109
Pending few hundred video files since last year... or the year before, don't know anymore. Time flies but they don't care.

I think Adobe is doing great with video.

sales tanked on my side.... 1 sale in one month. <_<

Its ironical that the end of the week is here when they don't respond to anyone... another 3 days of "fixed search".

And they've become extremely picky with stock footage... rejecting many clips that were in the near past (1 year ago and more) 100% acceptable.

Looks like another price dumping agency. Avoid like if it's a disease.

I've no objection to selling 'low res' videos. After all, that's all a HD resolution is when you upload a 4K.

What I object to is the price.

We need an 'opt out'.

Exactly. Finding out they had sold a 'low res' version of one of my best selling videos (which is normally priced at $65 for HD resolution) for $15 is unacceptable.

Either an opt out or let us set the price or minimum price of these low res options.

I listened to their research about this low res. They will add option to set our own prices for low res, so don't worry. I've been asking for few times, because there are a lot of buyers needing only 480p video and would rather buy on SS where they do offer it. I almost considered converting all my clips to lower resolution and upload it manualy.

sounds like iShitty strategy that destroyed them. Well, I'm not surprised... I saw this coming 5 years ago. To sum up; dumping prices, capping sales, pushing selected footage up, ignoring support, rejecting randomly fine footage from bigger contributors, a lot of bugs, don't care about flood of crappy/similar media.... and it keeps going on and on.

For everybody late for the party, here is a summed up with visual screenshots how SS actually works behind the scenes: https://video-stock.org/the-magic-button-at-shutterstock/

I really can't understand the link between this "magic button" for one or two contributor with the "cap theory" on other thousands of contributors.

I don't know if it's a glitch, but is perfectly legit for the agency to give more space to best sellers contributor (too much space, unbelievable space, I agree!). But how could this affect the famous "cap"? These are two really different things, and one can't work well with the other one ;-)

if you can be promoted like this, you can also be demoted. #justsayin

SS support has admitted that this is no bug and was obviously intentional...

Hi xxx,

Thank you for contacting Shutterstock Contributor Care.

As per your email, I could understand that your concern is regarding the search results.

I wish to inform you that it depends on the downloads and purchases made by customer worldwide which allows images to stay in the popular section of Shutterstock website.

I assure you that there is no bug issue as of now. In case there is any issue found we would surely let you know about that.

Also, this just proves how easy it is for them to cap your sales. Eat this non-believers.

It was strange to me too... and I tried with different versions of AE. Maybe I should repeat the test with the 2019 release. If the problem stays I'll put this as a bug on the long list I will send to Adobe. EDIT: I tried with the 2019 AE, no change in render time.

120
export times are much faster if you work from Premiere. Even if you use exactly the same effects as in AE. The difference is like 12min from AE and 2min from Premiere. It doesn't matter if you export via AME. I've added results here: https://video-stock.org/test-pc-mac-video-rendering-performance-with-defined-adobe-premiere-project/

$1.50 sales were excluded because it is an anomaly in the sales pattern. The same with images. Only pure basic cart sales and clip packs were included which are the core business for many years. These 1.50 sales are also strange in many ways. If I ever have time to spare, I'll look if 1.50 sales even help the clips get better exposure in the search results.

Why are you guys so upset that some contributors have different results than you do that makes them think there is something affecting their sales other than randomness?

Sheesh. Between the name calling and the other attacks all over the forums, small wonder discussions are generally limited to the usual suspects.

Because, I'm sure you know it, there are many other valid reasons for poor sales performance, instead of conspiracies.

Sheesh!

Who said anything about poor performance? I didn't. I am just tired of seeing something different than some of you and being labeled as either stupid or a liar. That's what is being inferred. But hey, I guess if it doesn't happen to you specifically, then it must not exist.

And I agree, argued to death, but I should point out that there are a lot of posters who bring it up in a lot of threads derisively. So again, why is this such a problem for some of you? The vehement overreaction but some is worrisome.

I don't think my reaction was vehement, let alone an overreaction, was it?

No, you didn't say anything about poor performance, indeed. I said it.

It goes like this:
1. capping conspiracy implies that your sales are not as good as you think you deserve them to be.
2. when your sales are not as good as you think they should, it means your actual performance failed to reach your goals and expectations.
3. when you fail to reach your goals, it means you didn't perform. Or in other words: your performance was poor.

There are certainly shades of gray and nuances, but I'm sure you understand what I mean.

The problem I have with conspiracists is the following: while many sound minded forum members offer perfectly logical explanations for a given situation, conspiracists and cap theorists choose to ignore them all, to continue to believe that some evil algorithm took away from them, what the rightfully deserve. As far as I know, fearful feelings and thoughts often related to persecution, threat, or conspiracy have a name, but I'm not a psychologist and I'll leave it at that.

Unfortunately, these conspiracies are flourishing these days, in many aspects of life, not just in microstock.

The bolded part of the text is usually called being naive about the world around you. #justsaying And I did argument my capping "theory" with numbers. Did you done your work to argument your "logical explanation"?

Do you still don't believe in capping system? In reality, they just regulate which and how much of your files the buyers will see. #fact
