image rejected as intellectual incontinence for box with 'heavy duty' on side

silhouette of boat on Inle lake Burma Mt St Helens
Steve, at Inle Lake I get very wistful. Have traveled the country in 2015 alone by motorbike and find the current political situation in this spiritual country with extremely hospitable people unbearable. When were you there? This were my best seller before the coup. Now all images do not run at all and all these nice people are locked up in this country.

The review system continues to be inadequate to deal with the flood of new content from contributors who clearly aren't looking closely at their submissions. Keywords are mostly useless or spam. Take a look at the titles and keywords for these.
Thanks for your Olympus digital camera examples, it's quite fun and kind of entertaining to click through the keywords here There are probably a lot of people on the road, who do not have the slightest idea of stock. A photo of the greek coast is then still safety with Italy, Spain ... and one is amazed ... with Denmark linked. My favorite is a picture of a real non AI donkey: Cat, lion, horse, dog, wolf .....

I've been to Persepolis and the first thing that struck me was how many people were there. it's not easy to get there, and fewer tourists now (not a popular site for Iranians)
also, there are no pillars on the sides of the gates and the statues look more Egyptian.
this is the type of AI that shouldn't be labeled w a specific site, but i doubt many reviewers know enough to be able to reject this
Steve, I've posted the examples here before. I found some AI images of the Atacama Desert in Chile, decorated with sand dunes from the Sahara. The unreal AI versions look more impressive

I have often asked myself the same question, and suddenly a junk picture goes for a high price Opinions on the subject will certainly differ widely here. My portfolio is not my "business card", so I don't delete my old sins. Just one example of many, but this is certainly the ugliest and I can't remember what possessed me to post the photo. This picture brought me a three-digit sum net at Alamy with 3 sales in a short time and has now disappeared into nirvana. Interestingly, I found one picture of this German mop in a South Korean online newspaper article. You're kind of not stuck in that, but every picture has a sales opportunity. And please no image criticism at this point

Jo Ann, I appreciate your hard work finding these. But putting these on a small forum like this one may not be the best course of action. It's obvious Adobe won't care unless they get hit financially because of this. Have you considered contacting the companies whose rights have been violated directly? How about some tech websites like petapixel?
Jo Ann persistently puts her finger on Adobe's sore spot here. I find that good and also somehow entertaining. This is not a small forum here either, as we know Adobe reads along here. And maybe Jo Ann has already achieved something through her commitment, that's hard to judge. But I find the demand that an Adobe contributor should report violations to the companies very strange. There are certainly better and more amicable solutions. Why don't you do that?

I had this rejection reason before AI times with photos of the Sacre Coeur in Paris. Despite several attempts, always this reason for refusal. I had explained it to myself that the topic was simply saturated.
It's on Shutterstock's restricted list.
Sacr-Cr
Located in Paris, France
Interiors and exteriors are unacceptable for both commercial and editorial use
Thanks, but I don't quite understand that. When I search on Shutterstock, I come up with 134 pages. For 2023 also a few new editorials, but quite few.
Mine were removed, and I was notified of the policy change by email.
I guess any that are still there will be taken down eventually.
This makes the whole thing even more whimsical. It's been over a year since my submissions. If there are fundamental problems with licensing on the part of France, you would think that all images would be taken out immediately. Then let's chalk this up to the usual inconsistencies with stock agencies.

.... and you can know with confidence you're account won't be blocked because of it.
Thanks,
Mat Hayward
Mat, is this really the new tone with the contributors? If you do everything the way we want (and keep changing it every day), we love you? But if you make one mistake, we'll block you? Great Mat, we are all adults here, with experience in the stock business or other training and decent Jobs, have families, raised children and Adobe is just treating us like a bunch of toddlers at the whim of our teachers. You are the only agency here that creates an atmosphere of fear, although everyone here in the forum is trying to help Adobe. I submitted images today (no AI) and felt bad about it because of your new threatening disclaimer. But I don't want to feel threatened when I send pictures, not to mention the fact that I won't know the outcome of my threatening experience for weeks This is a real new experience in stock photography As far as interpersonal issues are concerned, Adobe is really screwing things up here. Thanks

New approvals in the genAI collection continue to include some utterly useless, broken, messed up images. One portfolio (which is huge) had some major clunkers in recent approvals so I took a look at some of the rest.
It makes the point so clearly - cleaning up the review process is critical and should be the number one priority. Popups in the upload process won't do the job.
Just a small taste of what I'm referring to:

Jo Ann,
I think you see the issue a bit too narrowly and too critically.
If a train travels faster than its CO2 emissions, then the zeitgeist is well met and highly topical
Thank you, the picture was my highlight and is hard to top.
Not everybody knows the german language here Ralf. And then the joke is not quite understood.
This is called germanism. As far as I know, the term zeitgeist is used as a loan word in the English language in the same way as, for example, kindergarten or German Angst. But I'm happy to be taught better.

I see an advantage if you are trying to do engineers working on an oil plattform, medical doctor performing open heart surgeryall kinds of things where it is difficult to get access to or to get releases.
Cobalt, that's exactly what I tried and didn't get anything usable if you're interested in photorealistic detail. This is somehow understandable, because in many areas where it is difficult to get access for a photographer, there are not many reference images to train the AI as well. For all the medical subjects I had in mind, the AI failed completely. Even with classic simple doctor images with stethoscope around the neck, the stethoscope usually had ear pieces on both sides. Our new Youtube trained generation of AI contributors should not care about that - especially because the pictures looked superficially pretty at first sight - but stethoscopes are not designed for whispered mail

@adobe @mat
I know Michael from other German forums as well. Michael has dealt with the topic of AI intensively - especially with regard to Adobe - and has given many useful tips here on the submission criteria, which, by the way, change every so often. So he is taking a serious look at Adobe's submission criteria.
In particular, Jo Ann's involvement here on the forum has shown that Adobe itself has created a problem here that it can't get a handle on - Made by Adobe
I would therefore very much welcome Adobe to address Michaeal's problem as soon as possible.
Not only here, but also in other forums, this issue causes great uncertainty and also a certain fear -
Adobe is willing to arbitrarily block contributors that have been reliable for many years without warning or explanation.
Such behavior can also destroy livelihoods under certain circumstances.
This does not reflect well on Adobe - I am very disappointed

I was so afraid that my Adobe Stock account would be blocked for not uploading AI images...
Very funny, thanks for the laugh
It's nice to see that some here have fun with the fact that someone's years of work and commitment may be destroyed and is looking for support and help here. Oh yes, I remember, SVH, you are already once flown out of the forum. I personally would have fun with a repetition .

I only made it through about half of your DT (AI) portfolio, but I'd wonder if the four pink Cadillac images would be a problem
The title names them and the logo is pretty close to the real thing:
https://blog.logomyway.com/cadillac-logo/
For contributors who've been with Adobe Stock over a certain time (let's say one year), blocking a whole portfolio over what is, essentially a reviewing error on Adobe's part as well as an error on the contributor's part, seems extreme
I looked at some of the items with piles of boxes on a doorstep to see if there were logos there and didn't see anything I recognized (there was one big black check mark that could perhaps have looked like the amazon prime curved arrow).
I saw an iMac shape with no logo and I think Adobe Stock is allowing those in AI generated images (based on how many there are). A champagne bottle with gibberish text and a logo-like "seal" might have caused trouble - typically stock has to have plain geometric shapes to avoid inspectors seeing a logo.
Good luck figuring this out
Congratulations Jo Ann, you spent all your time pointing out the issues with these AI images that shouldn't be accepted, you got Adobe to react and act in the right way. Carry on!
If, for example, the aspects mentioned by Jo Ann play a role, this is absolutely no reason to block a portfolio. That is in a way antisocial, because there are also people who are dependent on the money. Reminds me of the methods of Paypal. I myself don't do anything with AI, but I can't even count how many images were rejected, for example because I overlooked a stupid logo or I misjudged a copyright - that's what the reviewers are there for and they obviously didn't do their job. The reviewers should be penalized for this and not the contributors for an unintentional accidental violation.

Mat, that's really nice of you to get in touch with us on behalf of Adobe.
Very important:
But when will Adobe find a solution for the ridiculously long and annoying review times for non AI images?

I have been doing this for nearly 20 years.
Woooooow !
Nearly 20 years ? And your photos still look like they are created with mobile phone for the social media story post : "look what I just eat for breakfast" ?
Well...
But how dare you talk to a person like that? And who do you think you are?Do you think you are better than someone else? But no one has taught you a minimum of respect?
How do you dare to speak to Madoo in this way? Who are you and do you think you are better then Madoo?
Cobalt has a big mouth herself in her posts and she is surely not shy of insulting people. She is not an innocent cute little puppy to defend. She does almost only upload, indeed, pictures of her breakfast or other snacks she rans into. So the remark of Madoo is not at all ill placed.
The respect you think is missing with Madoo, is missing with you as well because you don't mind of having a big insulting mouth yourself to another person, do you?
First look into the mirror and then judge someone else
You have had a terrible upbringing yourself and please stop with your needless political correct, saviour like, replies. Doesn't make it any sense at all even if Ralf believes so (same upbringing, I guess)
SVH, it's good to see that you've regained your old form in appropriate human social interaction - that must feel really good for you. You may have forgotten - it can happen - that you have been kicked out of the forum already before for bad behavior and have bullied and insulted other members here. Such personal attacks against other forum members are completely unnecessary. That is not really an enrichment for the discussions and mood in the forum.

When they try to cancel, they're hit with a massive cancellation fee.
This is not a scam, but customers and people who want free images not reading the terms correctly or at all.
There really is not much text on the registration page to read, but it does mention the cancellation fee.
[/b]
I agree and also feel a certain gloating. The negative reviewers are almost exclusively customers who do not want to pay anything for the products - our products - from the outset. I don't mind if they go directly to the free agencies.

Thank you, these thoughts were also in my head - but I do not always want to play here the etiquette and decency watchdog Besides, mobile phone food photos from everyday life sell very well and are made quickly

And daily greets the groundhog - so the Shutterstock discussion always comes across to me here. And of course, then the 10 cents.
The survey values are in no way representative, especially since the more dissatisfied are more likely to be on the move in such a forum.
I myself did not participate in the survey, but I will not be tired of publishing the following:
Shutterstock brings me by far the most downloads and revenues, followed by Alamy. Then comes Adobe, followed by Dreamstime and Depositphotos.
iStock, contrary to the survey on the right, no longer has any significance for me with 1 - 2 payouts a year.
I simply claim that certain portfolios fit and run better with certain agencies.
A really interesting discussion would be why that is, what themes sell. Maybe also the keywords play a role, the way of editing.

Is it any deal to do it for next years or maybe forever. I mean sales are not the best. Those 10 cent sales on shutterstock are funny too. AI can overtake humanly made photos.
Whether it's worth or not it is in the eye of the beholder. I don't know how the whole thing will develop next years. At Shutterstock, my RPD is 60 - 70 cents for an average of 800 image DLs per month. And yes, since it's a hobby for me, it's a nice side income for me together with other agencies.

Customers dont have time to waste their day prompting. They come to agencies because they often dont even really know what kind of image they want. They browse ageny collections to get a better idea of the visual concept they need etc
Yeah, right. Customers don't have 5 seconds of time to write a promt in an AI generator - pretty much the same time that it take to enter the same text in a microstock search bar - but they have time browsing collections for inspirations?
Such naivity....
The only thing that is keeping customers from widely using Ai image generators now is that most of them do not know/understand yet what they are capable of. In a few years no one will bother with microstock agencies, unless he needs editorial content of real people, places or events.
I think you see it all a little too one-sided from the point of view of someone who already has experience with the creation and post-processing of images/illustrations and has been involved in the subject for a long time. Many stock agency customers have neither the desire, creativity nor time to learn this new matter. So the registration at Midjourney with the subsequent creation of images in the Discord-Chanel with possibly additions for example --vr 16:9 or --v 5 etc is anything but self-explanatory. I may not be the fastest myself, but it took a few tutorials and help from a forum before I could even get started with Midjourney. Then the images have to be enlarged and reworked (for which you need a trained eye and software skills too) - if you get an image that fits your needs at all. The last point is still the biggest problem for me. Even if the workflow should simplify at some point, there will still be a whole series of customers who prefer the finished, directly visible product.
