Adobe Stock / Re: Duplicate Rejection Notifications
« on: December 11, 2015, 17:01 »
Stockwife is correct. When indexing your files they are submitted for review into the standard collection. If for some reason the image is refused for the standard collection you will receive that notification. If you have opted in to the free section, the image is then added to a different queue to be reviewed for the free section. Once that review is complete you receive notification of the result.

As with all Adobe Stock sales, your commissions are paid directly into your Fotolia account.

There is high demand for video in the industry. We are looking for 5-60 second clips of lifestyle/people, sports, aerial, nature, and general b-roll.

Clips will be sold through stock.adobe.com as well as directly through After Effects CC and

so I take this to mean that "common" Fotolia accounts are included with this? (That question hadn't been addressed by existing answers here.) Would be glad to know before I bother uploading new clips...

Thanks.
@Mackie, All Fotolia portfolios are mirrored at Adobe Stock. When you clips are approved at Fotolia, they are made available for sale via Adobe Stock also.

Thanks again for the great questions. Right now, some files being sold as HD are displaying their original 4K dimensions on Adobe Stock. A fix for this issue is expected soon. Please note that when a customer downloads one of these files, they do not receive a 4K file. Instead they receive the clip in HD. We apologize for any confusion or concern this may have caused. To minimize further confusion we have temporarily made clips that were uploaded as 4K unavailable in the search results. Some files can still be seen when using a direct link though they are not seen when using the search tool. These files will be put back in the search results as soon as the fix is complete.

Thank you very much for your patience, we will keep you updated.

Thanks everyone for the great questions. To clarify about prices and commissions based on zones. Yes, the prices are $79.99 USD or 59.99 EUR based on where the purchase is made. That being said, regardless of what zone you are in as a contributor or where the purchase was made, you are paid a commission based on a $79.99 sale. All Adobe Stock video downloads are paying 28 credits to all contributors (32 credits if Emerald or above prior to Nov 30).

We are not currently delivering 4K files for download at Adobe Stock. We will provide you with more information about this as it comes available.

One other item of note, originally I posted that contributors ranked Emerald or above prior to November 23 would receive 40% commissions. The correct date is November 30, 2015.

Thank you,

Mat Hayward

Adobe Stock / Adobe Stock now selling video
« on: November 30, 2015, 23:50 »
We are pleased to announce that Adobe Stock is now selling HD video content, providing you with the opportunity to reach Adobes large audience of video users. Starting today, HD video files are available to Adobe Stock members for $79.99 USD.

The standard royalty rate for all Adobe Stock video sales is 35%. Those of you that are ranked Emerald or above prior to November 23 will receive a rate of 40% to reflect your past achievements and contributions. As with all Adobe Stock sales, your commissions are paid directly into your Fotolia account.

There is high demand for video in the industry. We are looking for 5-60 second clips of lifestyle/people, sports, aerial, nature, and general b-roll.

Clips will be sold through stock.adobe.com as well as directly through After Effects CC and Premiere Pro CC. Users will now be able to search for and license videos directly in their libraries panel, making for the most streamlined and efficient purchasing experience in the industry.

Some of you have noticed a change in the language of your sales emails regarding subscriptions vs. on-demand. Currently, the system is set up to report all Adobe Stock sales including videos as though they are part of a subscription even though they are not. The language in the emails has been changed, but the stats in your "my sales" page are still going to be shown as subscription sales for the time being. Please note that the engineering team is working to fix this and the issue should be resolved in the next several days.

As always, please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly with any questions, comments or concerns.

General - Stock Video / Re: Fotolia review team sucks!
« on: November 19, 2015, 15:10 »
Regarding compound keywords:

Combo words that are OK and will be indexed as keywords are those that are written like that naturally. For example: close up, New York, Empire State Building, Golden Gate Bridge, etc.

You cannot put beautiful girl as one keyword, or sweet chocolate, etc.

I hope this adds some clarity to your discussion.

Adobe Stock / Re: Becoming emerald on FT - increase prices?
« on: November 17, 2015, 12:30 »
Congratulations on the upcoming rank increase! No changes are automatically applied to the prices of your files. Once your rank changes, if you decide to increase your prices on standard licenses for credits purchases, please submit a request to customer support via the ticket system and we will ask the tech team to make the changes in bulk for you.

Adobe Stock / Re: Can someone explain how Fotolia really works
« on: November 05, 2015, 19:19 »
@riffmax, good questions!

Your first stop for a lot of answers should be here: https://us.fotolia.com/Info/Contributors

There are two ways to purchase images, credits or subscriptions. Credits are the currency used for individual purchases and Extended licenses. One credit = $1 if your account is in the US zone. Your commission based on credits sales is determined by your rank. Your rank is determined by the quantity of sales you have. The more you sell, the higher your rank. The higher your rank, the higher your commission: https://us.fotolia.com/Info/Contributors/Royalties

Subscriptions are used by customers to download multiple images. Most subscriptions are monthly. You are paid a flat rate of 33% of the price paid per image regardless of your rank. All Adobe Stock sales are paid as subscriptions.

When you reach $50 in your account you can submit a payment request using either PayPal or Moneybookers (Skrill). You will need to have a current, government issued ID card on file to process this request.

Why has one specific image been the one selling for you? That is a subjective question, sounds like you have an image that stands out and is meeting the needs of multiple buyers. Without being able to see your portfolio it's pure speculation.

Weekly ranking is based on your entire portfolio, not individual images.

I hope that helps, good luck!

Hi @VB,

I don't recall your concern being discussed in the past. I can bring it up though can't you convert a vector to a larger file and use it at all sites or do others cap the size? Is it a matter of storage? I would like to fully understand the issue before I dig too deep on our end.

@Seabalos, I will look into your account and see what's going on there. Thanks for your patience.

Thank you for the feedback @VB inc. We have a team working hard on creating new tools for contributors. Stay tuned for some great changes down the road!

I haven't experienced any of the issues you have described with my 5D Mark iii. I just bought another one a couple of months ago and both perform at top level. If you are a CPS member you should reach out and ask them to check it out. Might need a replacement.

Good luck!

Adobe Stock / Re: Worth to Put Hi-Res on Adobe/FT?
« on: October 08, 2015, 11:28 »
You are paid a 33% royalty based on the price paid per image. This price varies in different subscriptions at both Adobe Stock and Fotolia. The $3.30 rate you are seeing comes from individual sales at Adobe Stock. The cost per image is $9.99 so you receive 33% of that. On the other end of the spectrum, with larger sized subscriptions, the cost per image gets lower. There is a minimum rate that is set by your Fotolia rank that your payment will never drop below.

More information can be read here: https://us.fotolia.com/Info/Contributors/Royalties

I recommend you post the full resolution file for a couple of reasons. As mentioned, the credits sales at Fotolia become more expensive the larger the file. What I think is possibly more important however is that customers search based on the size of the image and will not purchase a file if it is not large enough for their project. I can't tell you how many times I've spoken with customers asking for larger versions of a file. When I tell them there isn't one available, they move on and find one that fits their specifications.

If you upload at too low a resolution you could be costing yourself.

Is there somewhere to go to set all of your extended license prices in bulk?

You can send me an email and I will put in the request for you. I have experimented with EL pricing in my personal portfolio and found very few sales when maximizing the price at 100 credits. Customers are very price sensitive as many that buy extended licenses are buying multiple images. For me, I decided that 60 credits was the right price. I still don't see a large volume of EL sales but definitely more than I did when set to 100. If the price is lower you will probably find more sales. You'll need to decide for yourself of course if you think the volume will counter the lower price.

My email address is: [email protected]

I hope they'll pay more for sensitive use like Shutterstock so that whatever the percentage you make from extended license isn't the maximum you can get at Fotolia.

Sensitive use is not allowed with Fotolia/Adobe Stock licenses.

The royalty percentage for credits bases sales at Fotolia which includes extended licenses is based on your rank.

Mat, I've only been on FT for 3 months and am still uploading my portfolio there, so still at the lowly "white" level. Not worried about that, because I'm seeing my sales grow each month and I know the level will rise.

But I'm curious about a sale that came through on 9/30. My commission for that was 3.30 credits. Previously, I'd had a few at 1.4 credits, so the larger one came as a surprise.

Can you help me understand what that 3.30 sale was?

Thanks!

Generally a $3.30 commission results from a single image sale at Adobe Stock. All commissions at Adobe Stock are 33%. Single image sales are $9.99 so your rate is $3.30. As has been discussed there was a 50% promotion for Adobe Stock customers though the rate for contributors remained as though there was no discount. It's possible the customer paid $5 and you received $3.30.

Other commissions you may find from Adobe Stock: $1.65 for 10 download subscriptions (non CC members) and $0.99 for 10 download subs (CC members) along with the minimum commission based on Fotolia rank for 750 dl subs.

-Mat

1319
The royalty percentage for credits bases sales at Fotolia which includes extended licenses is based on your rank. If you have your extended license prices set to 100 credits you must be at minimum a Silver ranked contributor. Silver pays 25%. As soon as you jump to Gold rank your commission climbs to 31%, Emerald is 37% and it goes up from there. You can read more information about the rates and commission structure here: https://us.fotolia.com/Info/Contributors/Royalties

Adobe Stock / Change to Fotolia/Adobe Stock category process
« on: August 25, 2015, 13:01 »
Hi all,

I am happy to announce another great change has been made for contributors when uploading to Fotolia/Adobe Stock. When indexing your images you are no longer required to select sub-categories. The option is now available for you to simply select the main category when submitting your content.

You are certainly welcome to continue selecting sub-categories for fine tuning search results. However, it is now up to you.

Many more exciting changes and tools are being prepared for you so stay tuned!

While exposure is nice, I did ended up deleting the image.  I just cannot see offering a photo for free that has won international and other art awards.  If the image was rejected because of lack of commercial value, then I will just continue to sell it from my art portfolio rather than offer it for free.

It would be really nice if there was a way to set the default as no and have it stay as no and then opt in for particular images... or vice versa for those who want to do the opposite.

It should be set to no by default @Hildegarde. If it's not for some reason, grab a screen shot and send it my way to take a look.

Isn't that checkbox just for rejected images?

Yes.

I went today to see what was showing in the free section, and i couldnt even find it. I see the free weekly images, but that is it.

That's all there is. Only 3 images out of the entire collection are offered as available for free downloads each week. The odds of your image actually being used are staggeringly low. Those that are featured get huge exposure to their portfolio.

That being said, if you accidentally checked yes to the free section during an upload and the image was refused for the standard collection but approved for the free section you can simply delete the file from your account at your convenience to prevent it from ever being offered in the free section.

Adobe Stock / Re: Sales at Fotolia
« on: August 24, 2015, 10:25 »
@60D, can you show us the images you have uploaded? The answer will vary based on the quality of your work, the subject matter and how well you have keyworded your images to optimize search. If you uploaded some high quality back to school images showing cultural diversity with awesome composition and unique views you will probably be seeing some good sales almost instantly. If however, you just uploaded a batch of Valentine's Day images it could take a while to see some results.

Some new contributors find instant sales and others have to work at it a bit longer. I recommend you continue to shoot for stock and upload on a consistent basis. The sales will come if you put the work into it.

Good luck!
