Most of my sales have been coming from the more popular images that are on the old side. Haven't really sold the new stuff much lately.

The latest rejections which actually had a comment attached are ridiculous.
This image (which has sold today on GL) for instance:
http://graphicleftovers.com/graphic/search-light-city/
Rejected by 123RF because "This image requires you to provide and attach the proper model or property releases."
They want a property release for a made-up city horizon?! Give me a break. Are the reviewers actually LOOKING at the images or just glancing at them before pressing the 'trash' button.
This image was also rejected for the same reason: http://www.dreamstime.com/girl-in-dress-image12626211
Hi Devonsun,
A quick check on your account showed that the files that you mentioned above were rejected because they had appeared to be corrupted. If you were to log in to your account, at the History page-- Rejection, you will see that the image thumbnail does not show and instead a square box with a red X is shown. This is because the file wasn't fully uploaded. Hence, only the word "Rejected" in red is shown.
Why didn't he address the property model release question???

I'm only putting the dead earners on there on microstock. I've deleted them so they are dead in the water after 90 days then have to wait the ...I believe 180 days for them to completely remove them. They don't sell there so I might as well put them on microstock. I don't have a whole lot on Alamy and I'd really like to clean out the closet to repalce with new.

devonson.....I know it's not funny but I have got to laugh because the reason is so stupid. I swear they must have blind people doing their reviews now!!!!! That reason is ridiculous. They are going to end up losing alot of their contributors over these rejections because they are not a big money maker for many and they will just go their own way. I've been on there ...I think 6 months and only have $10.00+ dollars on there. They aren't worth my time if they start doing this. Actually they aren't worth my time anyway

I'm glad everyone is getting paid. I got a bunch of uploads waiting for acceptance. Well worth the wait.

External hard drives are quite reasonable these days. I have a main computor then a second computor networked into the main computor so if I need it for storage it is there, but I keep all my pictures as well as any important documents on the external hard drive and backup to dvd once a year. I know I should backup more like once a month,,,but it's only once a year.

If you have them RF on Alamy, you can put them wherever else you like.
I'm glad to hear that. That's what I thought from reading it, but I wanted to be clear about it....thanks for clarifing that sjlocke, now I can uplod those dusty pictures at Alamy to microstock sites.

Some of my Alamy images ended up in my microstock sites. Is this a violation of Alamy's terms and conditions? I read through them and found nothing that limits this. I don't have many pictures on Alamy and if there is no restriction I want to put them in my microstock sites. Anyone know if this is really the case...no restrictions?

madelaide.....FD is correct about AVG. I recently did a search through Google to find out how to make homemade playdo...clicked on a link and Boom trojan...You may not have a virus but one software I use that sure helps is Malwarebytes' Anti Malware. It's free and it sometimes detects what AVG doesn't. I use both. If you can't get on the internet on your main pc, you can download it on a disc from you laptop then install it and run it. Here's the website to download from. http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

iStock is real good at giving you a rejection reason which would be the first thing they see. You might fix the problem and then the rejection for the next thing they see. In other words....rather than telling you all the reasons they go one by one...and I do think there is alot of noise and they do look over processed

you need to type it in like this
http://submit.depositphotos.com?ref=1003098 ajalbert, It didn't work by just coping and pasting it like the other sites do. Leaf helped me out there. See his post above except make sure you put your ref id # in there and not mine otherwise I'll get the credit..

Yesterday I noticed minus 0.68 in my FT account. I searched "My credits" page and it showed a sale on 24/12 had been cancelled for "Buyer's Wire transfer rejected". So I corrected my spreadsheet.
Today I noticed plus 0.68 in my FT account. Immediately I thought of this sale - maybe the problem was reversed. There was nothing in "My credits" page, the refund was still there.
However, in "My uploads", that cancelled sale was showing (I am almost sure it wasn't yesterday) but instead of 0.68, it showed 1.36, what is not the correct number for a 2-credit sale.
So, they credited 1.36 and removed 0.68. In the end, it was as if I hadn't been harmed by the failed transaction.
Is it a new policy of no damage to the contributor? If so, hurrah!!
Mind you FT is not my biggest earner so don't laugh, but I did notice yesterday I had a total of $27.146....they must be getting down to every cent and half cent now. I thought that was rather strange since 1 credit = $1.00

Then you have to go image by image?
I'm pretty sure there is a long, confrontational thread on DT about this. I think it had to do with paying people to report bad keywords. Once reported, you are guilty until proven innocent.
Now everyone will be flocking to Dreamstime to become keywording police to earn a little extra money

Looks like they are all up and running now. I ain't touching them again for fears of screwing them up again!! Thanks again Stu

I suppose I'll play along for a quicky 100 bucks .. unless their uploading process sucks .. the site looks pretty good though at first glance.
Their reveiw process is pretty quick and they don't take just any photo. I tested the waters to see if they were picky and alot of the ones that had been rejected for."focus/composition" where also rejected here. I personlly think after they get the proper amount of exposure they will be successful. I think I finally got my referal link fixed below thanks to leaf

I could not find an affiliate link in this thread so here is mine http://submit.depositphotos.com?ref=1001512.
That's a joke of course. But the affiliate link is mine and works.
They do seem to be spending some marketing $$$ because I have seen their banners on many sites before the affiliate program was started (including my site Microstock Photography). This would at least say they have some cash to back the project.
I have given them a try and have been happy with the site and flow so far. Lets hope they can bring the buyers when the site goes live.
My is in my referral links, but for some reason it doesn't work. I even copy and pasted it like they said to do on the site. I contacted support about it and hopefully they can fix the problem. Let's see if it works on this post. http://submit.depositphotos.com?ref=1003098EDIT; it still doesn't appear to work......grrrrrr

yes it is helpful, I've had to use it several times because I don't usually do anything outside of stock photography so it helps you by getting the price right on macro or book and magazine publication.

You've heard it...seen it on TV...watched it in the movies. I personally never really been to concerned..it's happened over and over throughout the years. I guess it's usually the younger generation that falls for these things. After all the talk about NASA, I went to the site just to look at what they had and ran across this link. Interesting read none the less Here is their link to the end of the world.. http://www.nasa.gov/topics/earth/features/2012.html

How much you paid for your camera, how many MegaPixels it can capture, etc., has absolutely nothing to do with quality. D3x's .. 5d's .. PhaseOne's .. Hassleblads ... I've rejected tons of images from these models because they had so much sensor noise you could barely tell if the image was in focus to begin with. Out of focus .. bad exposures .. you name it.
Naturally I'm not commenting on the OP's images .. just the misconception in general that a pro camera will guarantee pro results.
Camera's only take pictures...it's the photographer that creates the image

Bingo...they paid. That definatly makes me more confident in their company and staff...that alone says alot about their view of the contributors which so many of the Big 6 don't anymore.

Maybe this will be interesting for you. Information on IS what shall be done if you are the inheritor, but no account of dead person exist and you wish to create it and start selling images.
"We will need a copy of the will stating that he willed copyright of his images to a specific person. If this is not mentioned in the legal will, then the executor of the estate can write a letter stating who will inherit copyright of the images.
iStockphoto will need a copy of the will stating who inherits the images (or stating who the executor is, and then a letter form the executor) and a copy of a death certificate.
These documents are kept on file, and you will be able to upload his images for sale at iStockphoto"
That is interesting information. I figured once the person died you could still collect his/her royalties, but am surprised you'd still be able to upload his remaining images.
