How does this "disabled period" affects your image ranking once it came back online?

152
Yes, 123rf sales get a sudden drop in the past few months.
I am quite demoralized by this and I think I will drop 2 ranking points because of this.

153
U know what... whenever some dishonest guys got his account banned, the first thing they worried about is that they are unable to withdraw their remaining money. They don't care about their portfolio.

Let me tell you this. All serious and honest artists put pride in their portfolio and that's their number 1 priority. They wouldn't worry too much about what's left unpaid.

154
A bit useful, but not useful enough.
Should have daily download, earning per download, top download all time, etc etc...

155
Just did a test.

https://www.shutterstock.com/search?searchterm=30s+day+light+hunk&search_source=base_search_form&language=en&page=1&sort=newest&image_type=all&safe=true

So, the image is discoverable regardless of any kind keyword combinations you use. This is really taking a big advantage over honest contributors since that particular image has over 200 keywords that is search-able.

This is a new kind of spamming technique. SS needs to control this before it become another spamming saga.

How do I confirm if my Tax is not outdated?
Where do I check this?

157
Matt, please automatically make default Extended License pricing to 100 instead of 30.

Crestock 99% of my illustration.
But the sales are very disappointing compares to other lower earners like DepositPhotos and CanStock.

I am still skeptical about the sales at CanStockPhoto.

I look at some of the vector at Top Downloads and they barely reach 50 downloads after years.

Can anyone share their experience in CanStockPhoto?

From your blog post:
That is why whether you should become an IStockPhoto Exclusive or not is highly depend on your skills. If you are super good, IStockPhoto Exclusive is your route to millionaire. If you are not that good, you may want to consider joining the other agencies...

The best illustrators should go exclusive and the mediocre ones should be independent? I'm sorry but that is total crap.

Define a good Illustrator? :) I don't consider myself one as I don't spend much time on Illustration yet, but even my "ordinary" illustrations, around 300 of them still gives me a decent bonus income each month.

Good illustrator are every where, but supers are rare.
I define supers for those who can use Gradient Mesh very well to create realistic objects.
Below are some examples of those that I think should stick with IStock.

The search feature in GL is the worst of all.
I wonder who is the CEO behind.

I hope my article can help you to decide.

And last time they want me to submit the photo of the silhouette I submit.
Now, they want me to submit BOTH Property Release Document + the photos I take for the silhouette tracing.
How awfully troublesome.

GLStock / Graphicleftovers.com Search is so lousy
« on: February 02, 2011, 03:39 »
I am not sure if I missed anything, but I find that Graphicleftovers.com search is the worst of all.

You can only filter the search by Vector/Image, GL/GP, and Price.

What about

1. Most Popular
2. Newest
3. Oldest
4. Most relevant
5. Most viewed
6. Most downloaded
7. ... and etc etc...

I uploaded about 200 vectors recently, and my number of views shoot up to 1000 immediately, and then it stop with 1 sales that returns $3.12. After weeks later, it shoot up to 1400 views without anymore sales. I reckon the views will stop totally one day later without the Search Filter variety because all your files will be buried deep within.

What are you thinking, GL? Haven't you use your own Search engine and find something? Tell me if you are finding your search good?

Furthermore, you only return 20 results per page and the buyers need to click through the pagination page by page to see more choices?
C'mon.... at least show 100 results per page. Please use common sense.

Sorry for being harsh, but I am really really disappointed with GL sales performance and feature. I hope they can be more intelligent creating their site. Correct me if I have said anything wrong.

Yes, of all the agencies, DT one is the most stupid I must say.
If you are an Illustrator, it is even more funny.

1. Upload JPEG first
2. Wait 5 hours before it appears in Unfinished Files
3. Keyword everything and submit again.
4. Wait another 5 hours before it appears in Pending Files.
5. Before the ETR reach to 0, quickly submit your EPS (vector) into each file. If you don't, you will have to wait them to approve your file first and only then they allow you to submit the EPS. Even more funny is if you fail to upload your EPS within the time, they will delete the keyword "vector" from your file.
6. Wait another 1 week to get them approve the JPEG.
7. Wait another 3 weeks to get them approve your EPS.

So, total time to completely finish your upload to DT is 1 month. YES IT IS THAT crappy, and I am not kidding.

Adobe Stock / Re: Fotolia cuts commissions again
« on: January 25, 2011, 21:23 »
The only way "revenge" can be taken is when 90% of the independent contributor from IS and FT delete their portfolio.
And that will only happen when SS offers exclusivity.

I really hate Fotolia and IStock now.

Instead of attacking contributors, they should all cooperate and increase the price for buyers.

Buyers don't really care if it is $249/month or $299/month.

But contributors feels the pain when you decrease the revenue by even 5%.

SS, don't you dare to follow them. If SS has exclusivity now (yes, I know exclusivity is bad), but I will just join SS exclusivity as a sign of protest again IS and FT.

The thread title speaks for itself... really epic fail for Istock.
The site seems to lose CSS file.

I guess that explains why my sales in SS is increasing lately.

« on: December 28, 2010, 11:42 »
I do think IS site is hacked.
I don't think the hacker hacked a credit card account or some real money transaction thingy.
The hacker should have hacked into the system of IS, and increase his credits to perhaps a million, and quickly use those credits to download all the Vettas.

Like some other forumers said, with a collection of Vettas, he can easily print CDs with those and sell at China for $10 a piece.
Or maybe upload to Hotfile.
