I don't know answer to the most of your questions, but regarding Payoneer card, you will be able to use it even when you cancel exclusivity. Just be sure not to close your Istock account permanently since your card is linked to Istock. But, even than I think it would still work, or you could issue one via Shutterstock or Dreamstime or Depositphotos. Adobe only if your account is in dollars. Like Sean said, it was big mistake to do keywording etc on site. Bridge, PhotoMechanic or any other software, meta stays forever and whereever you send your files.

What I can see from other people experience, and mine, too, is that at some point earning started sliding down. For some it was 2012., 2013, but for most of people 2016. or 2018. For me it was 2016. From some information from a different source - lifestyle photographers are still doing great. It asks for perfect pictures, 1-3 assistants, small crews, but it still works. From the same source I figured out that most of them are Istock exclusive. Remember StockPerformer asking us to try to explain why SS submissions halved in January? It is because Getty/Istock is dominating lifestyle stock market. The only part of the market that actually makes money for both agencies and photographers is dominated by Getty. SS is loosing this game. The source is reliable - out of 100 photographers roughly 80 are Istock exclusives in one of those paradises for producing stock! That is a huge thing! Who could even imagine that? I always thought Istock exclusives are minority. Getty sends their producers, managers to this country to work with photographers, because they recognized the potential. SS recognizes nothing! New, young photographers, just starting out in stock in this country will follow the ones that are successful - Istock photographers. Almost all young up and coming photographers are automatically recruited to Getty! What a win for Getty! SS is lost and if they want to get back on the track they have to attract these photographers. Of course, it is not my job to tell them how. But not having an office in Serbia, Ukraina, Belorus, Poland or whereever is a huge mistake. Being so disconnected from creators is bizzare. They think it is enough to write few blog post what will be popular this month and this year written by some hipsters and that's it? Luckily, Adobe is at least trying something. Making great webinars, connecting with photographers here, pushing new content so everybody could be happy and encouraged and have a chance. SS doesn't sell new content. That's ridiculous, it can't last.

Wirestock. Does all the keywording for you. No need of opening accounts. All handled through on Wirestock account.
I don't like the idea of my pictues being in someone else portfolio. I've already built some kind of reputation and search ranking position that I would like to keep by uploading regularly. Also, I don't like the percentage deal. Noone asks for percentage (models, organizer, retoucher, location owner, assistant etc), they wotk on hire, I'm taking all the risk, like in any business.

You keyword, upload to them and they handle the uploading end of it. Does a service like this exist?
If so and if there are multiples any suggestions on the most reasonable price wise?
Microstock.Plus does exactly that AND in addition it will also automatically fill all the fields at the agencies websites after uploading, attach releases and send the files for review so you won't have to do anything except pressing the "Upload" button after tagging your images. It will also track approval status (for 3 agencies for now - Shutterstock, Adobe, Dreamstime, but the list will be expanding soon).
Do you offer keywording service? Is that what tagging stands for? And how does it work? Or do you have something like keywording tool from Microstockgroup? Thanks!
We've integrated couple of existing keywording services. The most popular one is IMStocker. We're planning to add more in the future + an AI based automatic keywording that will be using neural networks and image recognition.
That's great. I'll give it a try as soon as possible. But I liked Microstockgroup keywording tool more than IMstocker. It gave me more relevant first 10 keywords for some reason. But it seems broken now. Anyway IMstocker is not bad neither. And one more question - what's the difference between StockSubmitter and MicrostockPlus, why do you run two platforms? Thank you!

Contact support regarding your Adobe uploading problem. THAT is a problem. Fck photoshop, not a big deal 10$, you would just dilute your support question with that one.

But with Photoshop CC based in UK, and Adobe Stock in Italy - doesn't this give problems to one single Adobe ID? Plus I'm going to have to pay for CC despite being eligible for free...... Wish I'd not changed anything.
That was my thought yesterday, when you posted this. Could you just not do anything, keep your old Italian address and continue working in England? Maybe because of taxes you can't, I don't know. Anyway keep writing to support because this sounds really weird.

I've been a contributor for 12 years now. I do it full time and upload quality photos and illustrations.
In the peak time (2016) I used to have 400 downloads a day on Shutterstock. A year ago I was happy with 200-250 downloads. These days I am getting about 130 downloads a day. DESPITE regular uploads.
I am aware of the Covid19 situation, but how is it possible the downfall is strong ? On the contrary I am getting record sales on Adobe.
Has Shutterstock fell so much for you as well ?
PS: my username was created some years ago, it's meaning may no longer be true
wooowww 400 dl in one day, man, you must be so rich... 130 dl in one day is ten times more than my sales, even in this state, you have very good sales. enjoy with it.
He can't enjoy with 130dl a day because he constantly reminds himself about 400dl/d That's in human nature. Beside, imagine how much hard work is behind it. It didn't just fall down from the sky. And seeing that your hard work is not rewarded anymore is just adding to not being happy. But, you are right, despite all that he should be happy! Those are still good numbers!

SS has dropped quite a lot for me to less than half of what it used to be but i haven't uploaded much lately except in occasional spurts (like now when I'm home more). Adobe was a real bright spot for a while there and I thought they might overtake SS eventually but they have dropped like a rock the past few months. Last month I think they finished number 6 for me and are maybe fifth so far this month. They had been a solid number three for quite a while there but are now dropping back with the others. I do probably 35-40% editorial so that might be part of it, but they are now less than 50% of what they were 2-3 years ago. Too bad.
Agree 100% Adobe started brilliant and then just faded away! but its been tested and Adobe also play the numbers game of quantity and giving all new members a premiere spot and all glory.
That's not true for me. My Adobe numbers haven't dropped. You can't make conclusions about the agency in the whole just based on your, and few others, experience. I'm not saying they are not giving the new members an advantage, but we can't be sure.

With coronavirus, I'm seeing Shutterstock dropping fast but Adobe Stock is remaining very strong... it's almost as if SS has lost its clients to them.
I'm not seeing that, SS is not dropping for me. Although, I would like to see Adobe stronger, or any other agency, since this domination of SS is not good for anybody except SS owners.

Indeed, that image is impressive! Amazing how he gathered 196 models do to that picture! One of the good things about Stock Performer is that you can identify such images quickly and can then better decide how to organize your next shoots to take advantage of those insights. Kristian is a great example of using data to produce as smart as possible!!
Stock Performer is a great tool and very helpful! But, lets not exaggerate its contribution to Kristian's success. He would do just fine even without any precise analytics. Because his success is based on his talent, hard work, a great deal of luck to start the right job at the right time (microstock lifestyle in like 2006 or 2007), being based in Serbia (cheap models, locations, great logistics for stock photographers), consistency, bravery, talent. I've must forgot something, but you get the point.

That is not true. The visual requirements to be accepted on the main microstock agencies in 2006 were very high.
Well, that is not true. I remember what crap I sent and sold in volumes at microstock 10-15 years ago. It is exactly the same crap produced by beginners these days, only it is produced in much bigger volumes now and search engines can't deal with it anymore.

The root cause for me is that they have made it possible to become a contributor with zero knowledge of photography or stock photography creating an unmanagable tsumani of images. There was a time when at least you needed to demonstrate a reasonable level of competence. The quicker in a process you filter out poor quality the cheaper it is. Can you imagine a supermarket using a supplier where 90% of their product has to be rejected as sub-standard? I'm pretty sure SS have such people.
Sorry, but that's not true. It was like this since the day one of Shutterstock and microstock itself. We can't pretend now that microstock was some kind of macrostock once upon a time. Microstock ruined macrostock and any appreciation of quality in photography years ago.

Did you try refreshing? Or dumping cookies and such? Also I have heard that AS has been having issues with their site lately. Mainly with pics not showing in your port soon after uploading. I wouldn't be surprised if some more issues came up. You can always make a support ticket thingy?
Thank you for your reply! Yes, I will make a support ticket today. The number of uploaded files keeps growing even when I'm not uploading, duplicates. I will stop submitting content for a while.

I finished upload of a batch, it got accepted. After some time it appeared under Uploaded files again. Since I have a lot of pictures and batches every week, I didn't even notice they are duplicates, so I submitted them again. I think some of them appeared under Uploaded files for third time, or I'm gone crazy. I wanted to clean the mess and got ready to delete duplicates, since they dilute sales of original files, but I don't know how to delete a file on Adobe. Does anybody know?

We were told by a customer that Shutterstock has tightened its inspection standards. Is that true? Do they accept less content? That could explain the reduction of uploads on Shutterstock. Although it wouldn't explain the reduction on the other agencies.
Happy to get any input on that. Thanks! Luis
Most of the contributors send their files to all of the agencies by default, so I don't see a reason to skip Shutterstock once the content is produced. The only ones to be skipped are low earners with time consuming upload process. In my opinion, I don't think contributors who seriously invest in productions (like you, for example) would stop producing content because a reduction in revenue. The first step would be to lower production cost by producing simpler and lower level content (less models, less expensive models, no expensive interiors, themes that can be produced with minimal costs) . On the other hand if they have to let go their retouchers, keyworders, assistants, producers, then it is a huge difference in the number of files produced. By the way, what is your experience as istock exclusive contributor with professional content?

Why the 49 keywords rule? Why not always prioritise by keyword order? seems odd/ pointless. Surely the more keywords the greater the need to prioritise? (that and I am too lazy to go through my whole portfolio deleting one keyword per image for all my 50 word images, I have always ordered KWs by relevance).
Exactly, that's why I asked Mat here somewhere to suggest to Adobe to automatically cut (trim) extra keywords to 49, not 50. Their system cuts extra keywords to 50 and then they come and say that they penalize you for having that one keyword extra. It looks that they don't communicate between different sectors.

I thought you can only delete a certain amount of images every so often? Say you want them to stop selling your images? what would be the quickest and most most effective way to do that?
I was under the impression opting out of images sales would take them off rather quickly whereas deleting your account entirely takes several months?
Anyone know for sure?
https://www.shutterstock.com/contributorsupport/articles/kbat02/000006645?fs=RelatedArticle&l=en_USI guess it takes the same time. The pictures won't be visible to new customers, that is all that matters if you are going Istock exclusive route. I think the ones (customers) who have your pictures in their lightbox saved for future projects approval can still use them. Anyway, Istock knows exactly how long it takes to remove files from SS, you are not the first one to do that. So, don't worry, they'll accept your application as soon as you tell them you clicked Opt out button on SS.
