We agree - you should be able to edit metadata on your own, after files are accepted. This is true for all content, no matter if it was transferred from SnapVillage or if it was newly uploaded.

We do plan on releasing tools to enable you to edit metadata after the fact.
While I don't have an exact ETA, this functionality is definitely planned for a future contributor release.

That is good news. I hope it's not too long.  ;)
Thanks Brian.

Panthermedia.net / Re: Commission Rate
« on: June 10, 2009, 05:51 »
I have half a dozen at the 51%. The sales range from April to May. I am way past the payout level, but I don't want to take the money if it is not due to me!

Panthermedia.net / Commission Rate
« on: June 10, 2009, 02:54 »
I have all my images on Panthermedia set to 30% commission because they are all for sale on other agencies.
My recent sales have given me commission rates of 51%. (yes 51% not 50%). When I checked my images  all the rates have been changed to 50%.
I changes some of them back to 30, and notified support. They replied that they could see nothing wrong.
Another sale went through at 51%, and the images I had corrected a couple of days ago have changed back from 30 to 50%. I contacted them again, but have not heard anything.
meantime, I do not want to touch the money they owe me just in case.
Can you check your portfolios and let me know if this is a site problem or just my port?   ???

I would like to add, after uploading new images, I found the keywording and editing on Veer to be excellent. A joy to use.

205
A problem a lot of us had was not with the importing, but with the way things were run on Snapvillage. They changed the keywords of most of our images, and in a very amateurish way. I wondered if they were native English speaker at all.
We would appreciate a chance to edit the keywords of the images that were imported, perhaps as a one off exercise?

I don't know. She could have a great future as an 'Artist'.

Veer / Re: Veer Marketplace Opens for Submissions!

I have similar problems. None of my images have descriptions, and the keyword are ridiculous. Can you help with this Brian?

208
Help!

I am trying to upload with Filezilla. It accepts my password,I have it set to FTp over SSL encryption, but I get the error:

Error:   Transfer channel can't be opened. Reason: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
Error:   Could not retrieve directory listing

Does anyone know what this means? Is it blocked at their end?

209
Well today I am disappointed with Veer. I cannot get the FTP to work, I cannot upload with the browser uploader, and the site is horrendously slow.
Ah well, I hope they can fix it soon.
It would have been nice if it had been tested first. Why do we always get to be the guinea pigs?

210
Brian,
Can we do anything about the awful keywords that Snapvillage added to our images? They are so bad that it is amazing any images were found at all!

211
I tried to log in this morning and couldn't. I emailed support, but am still waiting for an answer.

212
Leaf, will you add a link to Veer on the sidebar?  Thanks  :)

Hey that's a great link!
It says istocks website is worth $136, shutterstock is only worth $127!  ;D  :D

216
Thanks for that, I will continue to ignore them! I stopped uploading there a while ago.

It would be very interesting to see a similar comparison for Getty.

What would be more interesting would be a comparison of the same quarter in the previous year

That's exactly what it is.

this is my last post ever.

posting here is a waste of time.
farewell.

Ahhhh, and we so enjoy a good laugh.
See you soon.

This is part of the agreement you signed on joining, and has been well discussed on the forum before.
How long have you got to go before they will close your account?

221
I always think that if you put your pictures into the critique section, you are advertising that you do not really know your trade. Not an image you want to project.
Do buyers really look around the forums? Sure, one or two may be the exception to the rule, but surely that's not what the vast majority of buyers are doing.
Getting more exposure to fellow contributors means more exposure to copyists who will rip off your portfolio.
The exposure we want, to the people who count, is much harder.

I have wondered if it would be worth our while to band together as forum members and take out our own advert in a trade magazine. What do you think?

222
Very nice Tyler. A really professional looking letter.  :) :)

223
Would it work if you were to scan half the note at a time then put the halves together?

224
Luceluceluce, you are starting to come across as a bit obsessed with this matter.
The solution to the IRS problem for you and me in the UK is to do the paperwork.
That's it.
Easy, if a bit inconvenient.
I have already taken steps to make this happen.
I feel sorry for those who will be deducted tax no matter what they do, but we are not among that number, and cannot do anything to change the law of the USA.
No amount of moaning will change the facts.
It is going to happen.
If you want to know which sites will not be deducting this tax, take a look at their registered addresses, or email them and ask.

I have da solution. Sell more pics to make up the money ! It's probably the easiest route.

Ha ha ha. Brilliant!
