« on: January 01, 2009, 15:07 »
Jupiter subs represent about 13% of my DLs on StockXpert for December vice about 9% for November.  Would be interested others' results.

StockXpert, JUS, and Photos.com are pretty much running equal to one another (33% each).

Off Topic / Re: Xmas sucks..
« on: December 24, 2008, 08:28 »
The older i get the more cynical i get about xmas.
Hard up families expected to buy presents they can ill afford.
That baby in Bethleham has alot to answer for in my opinion
It's only as commercial as you let it be...and remember, there were OTHER babes born in Bethleham that night...Brian for example, lest we forget them.  ;)
Safe holidays to all

Off Topic / Re: Hey Merry Christmas, everyone
« on: December 24, 2008, 08:25 »
Annual band jam session with everyone who's in town that, played, carried equipment or hung out with us since the 1970s.
No day work for a few days, good time to edit and upload more photos.
Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukkah and a joyous and prosperous New Year!
Same here (except it was the late 80's for me/us)
Safe holidays to all!

Shutterstock.com / Re: Another image thief at SS
« on: December 20, 2008, 13:26 »
dgool steals all his photos and brags about best seller and uploads a microsoft windows background as his own lying that he made the picture. This is the low life that inhabits microstock. dgool couldn't shoot his own foot with a shot gun. You take photos have them stolen or have concepts stolen while sites sell them for peanuts. You work to take pictures that are rejected for dumb reasons and complain that reviews take to long. Then we drool on our face being happy that we made a sale for a dollar and complain that it takes two weeks to get paid.
He's right!!!!
I quit...and will use my new free time to hunt down "dgool" and punish him with rusty dental tools!

Featurepics.com / Re: "Image overpriced" rejections?
« on: December 20, 2008, 13:15 »
I've never heard of this type of rejection, and I have images (photos) priced high there, so I would recommend contacting support.

Regards,
Adelaide
Agreed...never heard of THAT one...contact support.

123RF / Re: How are things at 123?
« on: November 20, 2008, 17:11 »
they've been a steady haul for me...not great but hit a payout every 2 mos...
some of their rejections have gotten a bit wonky as of late but there are other sites out there that are far worse with payouts / rejections.

Crestock.com / Re: sales getting better?
« on: October 26, 2008, 19:06 »
I'll leave my existing shots there...haven't uploaded anything new in 1 year. Until the commision is updated, it will continue to be a drying well...just hope i make payout before they belly-up. They had the right idea but took the the "our turd don't stink" approach and put off alot of photogs.

Even a fella tossing burgers who asks to quit his job won't get his boss calling him and
asking him to "reconsider".

Adobe Stock / Re: Prints for sale through fotolia?
« on: September 23, 2008, 17:47 »
Interesting development :

http://us.fotolia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=13664

Short version, they suggested to install a filter that would exclude my pictures from being used and sold on Bilderking.
I could live with that.

Do we ALL have to contact them to stop the rape?

SnapVillage.com / Re: Anybody getting paid
« on: September 16, 2008, 15:45 »
I average $12 - $15 per month but if you do not cross the $10 payout until the first of the month, they wait until the end of the month to "calculate" payout, then anothe 30 days before ponying up.

Bigstock.com / Re: Slow Sales At BigStock
« on: September 09, 2008, 17:32 »
Sales have been less frequent, but more $2-earning are happening and today I even had a $3-earning sale.

Meanwhile, this month only $1.29 at 123RF.

Regards,
Adelaide
heh...same here...but I did cash out Friday ;)

2 in 3 days...same image. They've still got a long way to go but when I make $40 in 2 days, it certainly gets my attention. The whole rating thing is still a shambles BUT, Arian's presence and accessibility in the forums and email is heartening.

I'll hang out for awhile...

Heads up: By uploading images via Google Chrome you may be inadvertently giving your images away. The EULA explicitly states the following:

11. Content license from you

By submitting, posting or displaying the content you give Google a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute any Content which you submit, post or display on or through, the Services.

11.4 You confirm and warrant to Google that you have all the rights, power and authority necessary to grant the above license.

On the surface, this seems to me a bit underhanded of them.
...enuff to keep me away...

I feel nothing but sorry for these reviewers.
ETA:  These folks deserve some gratitude for slogging through all the dross.  I think I would be forced to shoot myself in the head after 10 hours of that!
Lisa, I love your work and their rants are not aimed at you, however, they get paid for a job they applied for. Just like microstock photogs complaining about rejections, nobody's holding the checkbook to their heads.

Photoshop Discussion / Re: Cars reflection
« on: September 01, 2008, 07:56 »
You should be able to use the clone tool and healing brush.... but its a lot of work and my not be worth the trouble.

There was a nasty reflection of me taking this shot in the car's door. I had to clone and heal it out.

I agree...and it would take HOURS to get that girl out of the photo too!   ;D

General Stock Discussion / Re: Need advice on client request
« on: August 29, 2008, 16:43 »
I agree with Sean, I don't know of a site that wouldn't allow that.
Absolutely, as a buyer I PS manipulate ALL of your images (no plastic penises  :) ). That's what this game is all about.

Crestock.com / Re: Rejections and more rejections!!
« on: August 29, 2008, 16:37 »
I'm just starting in all this but if all other sites accept my pictures and Crestock does not, they should really look into their criteria. Out of more than 20 pictures, they only approved two of them. If their criteria is this much different than all the other sites, something must be wrong either with all the other sites, or Crestock. The answer here is obvious.
Welcome to the world of Crestock >:(

Isolate the image then reduce brightness and contrast until they are solid black.

« on: August 15, 2008, 09:40 »
okay then...how about this
"A large part of Iron Arrow's tradition is secrecy. Mr. Castro said there is a "delicate balance between secrecy and involvement," and that any resulting elitism is simply "misconstrued." He obviously was not free to reveal to me any of those private traditions. Understanding his personal obligations, the only thing I wanted to know was why they existed."
