It was in the works long before Pavlovsky became CEO, IMO. Getting rid of customer service for contributors, tons of rejections for established contributors, flooding the site with similars, allowing 50 identical keywords until we put up a big stink, smaller and smaller royalties and fewer and fewer big sales...that all started years ago.
Shutterstock was never about helping contributors make a living or being a viable business long term. Its only purpose was to make Oringer, the investors, and a couple of chosen others rich.
Well said and totally true. Can I ask someone on the forum if I can leave SS as a contributor BEFORE I get to the minimum payout? I can't say what I earned so far but had over 60 DLs but not close to the min threshold. I was only there for a few months when they cut the payments last May. I read in the T&C's that if you close your account before reaching it you lose your earnings. If true not a fair deal at all. Oh here's a little drawing that I did about them The guy in the pinstripe suit is the CEO of SS. The drawing's not very good but it's funny I think.
If you read it in the T&Cs that you'll lose your earnings then that is exactly what will happen.

Don't these agencies realize the quality of stock photography will diminish greatly if photographers are only earning 10 cents an image which includes enhanced/extended licensing? Even the "new/pumped up generation" would probably not stay long at that royalty ...
Also, inflation is coming. They are reducing our pay while the cost of everything is going up.
They don't care and there are plenty of fools scrambling to get their images on these sites for pennies.

It's a competition!
How many photos can you get approved by Shutterstock before they appear in your image portfolio.
I'm on 17 so far!

My new image per month usually appears within an hour of being approved. However the image counter doesn't reflect the ones I deleted over the last few weeks. That company is just a f**k up.

Maybe to many contributor deleting their accounts now and your name might be similar to someone, so that they deleted your images instead?
my portfolio looks normal at contributor dashboard (1113 assets) but when I preview my porfolio as normal visitor , I don't see any photos ! only 1 photo displayed in my portfolio ! https://stock.adobe.com/eg/contributor/205121154/arapix
Just checked your portfolio and I only see 1 image of "Muslim boy pointing to the word : Ramadan ( The holy Month ) while reading the Quraan in a mosque" File #: 205881538

"Almost all compact cameras, fixed lens cameras SLR-like Bridge Cameras and all mobile phones cannot produce images that meet our guidelines."
Alamy's harakiri
Alamy have always had this policy doesn't seem to cause them any problems nor does it cause a problem for the other contributors.

Thanks everyone for your candid feedback and questions. Please know that many hours have been spent at Adobe to explore and understand the potential impact and benefits to both business clients and Contributors in introducing these offers. To answer the question about what unlimited really means it means there is no monthly cap on number of downloads. While we do not anticipate abuse due to the limited availability of these plans, our team will be closely monitoring customer behavior to ensure it remains in the best interest of all parties involved. Theres a nuance here that I want to make a bit more clear, and that is: the existing customer base for stock isnt going anywhere. These new offers are primarily aimed at equipping more users in SMB and enterprise organizations with access to creative tools and stock content users who typically arent currently licensing stock. We are leveraging the massive base of customers loyal to Adobe around the world to continue growing the marketplace. This benefits contributors, customers, and Adobe Stock. Adobe needs to be responsive to market changes, while balancing the needs of creative Contributors, maximizing your value and payouts, too.
Regarding the questions about royalty calculations, every day, we generate an overall earnings pool equal to 33% of our total Adobe Stock CCE Pro revenue for the day. We then allocate these earnings to contributors based on the number of downloads. As a reminder, for customers taking advantage of the first year free offer, Adobe Stock is absorbing this cost. The revenue they would be paying outside of the promo offer is added into the overall earnings pool.
To clarify the difference in licenses. Pro Edition for Enterprise customers (CCE) downloads are provided an Extended license and Pro Edition for Teams (CCT) are provided an Enhanced license. Please review the links provided in the FAQ for additional information about the license agreements. https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/contributor-faq-for-cct-cce-pro-edition-.html
I am traveling tomorrow for a family matter but will do my best to check in when I can. We truly appreciate your feedback and value your contribution to Adobe Stock.
Thank you,
Mat Hayward
Seriously these enterprize customers are usually the richest but they need to have our hard work at next to nothing prices c'mon Adobe. Why is it the image producers never get a say in this? Our only choice is to suck it up or walk!! "While we do not anticipate abuse due to the limited availability of these plans, our team will be closely monitoring customer behavior to ensure it remains in the best interest of all parties involved." Of course it will end up being abused and to assume otherwise is an exercise in naivety

The cameras I had rejected by Alamy were the Lumiz FZ330 and FujiFilm XF10. The latter rejection was particularly ridiculous as the XF10 has a 24MP APS-C sensor.
I assume this barrier to entry has resulted in Alamy losing ground to it's competitors.
You assume incorrectly they are doing fine in their niche This might help "Almost all compact cameras, fixed lens cameras SLR-like Bridge Cameras and all mobile phones cannot produce images that meet our guidelines" https://www.alamy.com/blog/alamys-rough-guide-to-digital-cameras

I was twice refused by Alamy because I was using a compact camera.
Nowdays I look at their site to pick-up ideas for photos to load to their rivals who are not so pedantic about which camera you use.
Alamy have always had a list of unacceptable cameras such as compact cameras and phone cameras

Yes. Your words are very useful. You just know how the internet is going. I am very grateful to each of your words.
Thanks friend. We may not get much. But we tried. Here, it is better not to talk too much. They absorb your energy.
They are waiting for someone with joy, who enjoys the sun, life, to write something. Then, they stop observing, to launch themselves in free flight at the neck of a victim from above. I think that by not selling files, their goal is the forum's like as a daily dose to sleep better.
What? Tenebroso is gone? And I made a special graphic just for his writings. I'm disappointed.

I had to share at least once. Word Salad
He said he was going to form his own forum ~ I guess so he can pose questions and answer them to his own liking

Before the Administrator closes this thread and makes it disappear, I would like to tell you, that unfortunately, the civil war is the only possible solution. And then restart the country. This is what many of us think. Unfortunately. The problem has been entrenched in society for decades
Justice and the army have saved democracy this time. But the problem is in society. 70 million, that's a lot of votes, it's a lot of people. The problem must be solved. Some speak of war within five years, others in this decade.
The hostile environment is not bearable, for long. Prewar atmosphere, bellicose. And this time, only the rich are against it. Society is ready to find a solution, to leave a new country to the new generations. The current one is expired.
Do not give importance to my words, here, in this forum, they call me the drunk in the town square.
It is the media that intoxicate my few neurons. You can already close the thread.
You really are just trolling this forum with your incessant word salad And who gave you permission to request this discussion should be closed? I request your account gets closed

Sold a shot on Alamy for quite a bit but have been waiting since 18th december 2020 for payment to clean $146 how much longer and is over a 3 month wait normal.
Martin
What happens is that Alamy gives credit terms to their customers. So if a customer buys an image they have a certain amount of time to pay for it. Some get 3 month credit terms and some can get up to 6 months. If you email [email protected] they will be able to advise. Usually they say they'll pass it on to their credit control dept.

Hi Martin;
Why don't you "adult" and contact Alamy directly? How is a third party forum going to help you when they have zero nada zilch to do with Alamy? Put your big boy pants on and try it.
Was that really necessary? The guy was merely asking a question to see if other contributors had similar issues.

This idea that the NHS is 'free' is complete and utter rubbish. It is paid for from National Insurance Contributions. Every worker has 11% deducted from salary in addition to income taxes. Employers pay extra. Yes, part of this money goes towards other benefits such as unemployment, national pensions etc. But a large part is to pay for the NHS.
Imagine someone earning a reasonable 50,000 per annum. They pay 5500 a year in National Insurance. A typical person works 40 years, so that's 220000 over a working life not adjusting for inflation etc.
Now imagine if that money was instead invested in an annual investment plan. Even at a modest 5% a year that money would grow to somewhere near to 1,000,000 - easily enough money for retirement and health.
What would you rather have - free NHS and a small Government pension, or one million pounds in the bank?
Again lets look at the actual facts:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_total_health_expenditure_per_capita
Look a the bar chart of "Total health expenditure per capita in US dollars"
This one is actually mind boggling. People in the US actually pay more in taxes towards their health care than people in the UK, then have to pay insurance on TOP. It is absolutely insane how corrupt health care has become in the US.
Also national insurance is mainly for State Pensions and Benefits. 80-90% NHS funding comes from general taxation https://www.kingsfund.org.uk/projects/nhs-in-a-nutshell/how-nhs-funded. And also not 12% and someone on 50000 would pay 4851 but now we are getting into the weeds on a post that has no foundation (for the other reasons stated)
You are right Justanotherphotographer, this person Tenebroso is out there on the far side of reality, he obviously represents part of the warped American thinking were they don't believe in facts.
He claims he's Spanish
