Yeah the X5 raw is looking realling exciting. I have had a large drone to fly a Canon 5D Mark III camea but the Inspire X5R will easily outperform that setup in a much smaller, easier to fly package. Good things are coming for drones
It's about time someone makes a drone-dedicated camera like DJI just have. It really makes no sense sticking up a camera like a 5D in the air which has tons of features that you can't use while flying and take up unnecessary weight (screen, buttons, viewfinder, mirror, battery, magnesium body, audio support).
Right, love or hate DJI they are heading in the right direction:) also interesting would be the ability to detach the x5 and put the gimbal on a stick for hand held work. Looking forward to that option which should be right around the corner. Hard to imagine where the tech will be a few years from now.
Yep. They are one step ahead of you 😀 http://petapixel.com/2015/10/08/the-dji-osmo-is-a-handheld-12mp4k-camera-with-a-brushless-gimbal/

well today i have only 4 sales on fotolia, shutter is below average today, do we get money for free download or not?
This scene is becoming depressed
The question is how much will we get. Last time it was clear: 50% of 9,99$ = 4,99 buyer pays=3.30 we get. Now it seems like for the free month for new customers we get 1.65$, but it can be 0,99 (?) if buyer will sign up for one year of Adobestock https://stock.adobe.com/promo/firstmonthfree. And I have no idea how much should we get for 120 free images offered for MAX attendees.
Yes, in the newsletter they sent out, Adobe said we would be getting paid for the free downloads given away.

I received a reply from SS.
We receive the percentage as for custom images for these subscription plans. As it's a test they didn't notify contributors, but they said they do put it in the blog if it becomes a new product.
Thanks for checking it out Jo Ann

A site needs 50 votes to get an earnings rating.
The sites without an earnings rating are listed in order of what their earnings rating would be if they did have enough votes. That is to say, Stocksy has the highest earnings rating of the sites that don't have 50 votes.

I reminded Leaf and he has added it now. It would be interesting to see where it will place within this current list.
yep, you can vote on Getty now but no one has yet!
It wasn't here when I voted. Next time

They are at the very bottom.. until you vote once, then they are moved up together with the sites you usually vote on.

a number of posts were removed for a) being off topic and b) accusations towards another member which may or may not have been true.
I agree we should try and stick together and point out portoflios that are possibly infringement, but at the same time I don't want this forum to start accusing other rmembers of things when they may or may not be true.

I think it would be great, if we could see how many people entered data for an agency.
Maybe as a small number in brackets behind the name?
So it becomes easy to see, how many more people are needed to include an agency further up, or just to see how many people are interested.
Also higher top income levels for the full timers.
agreed, I'll get that working too

I'm pretty sure there aren't any new collumns, they just organized them better. Before the video referral and photo referal were in two different spots.
Video downloads were in seperate spots. It looks better IMO... a lot easier to read and see where income in coming from.

Leaf, please share your thoughts about this. Thanks!
Yes, please
I had had people ask for Getty before so perhaps I should give in and add it to the list. I agree the lines between the sites are sufficiently blurred that there is no strict 'macro' or 'micro' site anymore. I'm currently on holidays I'll add it to the list when I get back and have better access to the site database.

If you want to close your account at an agency, starting a forum thread about it will be of little help. You need to contact the agency directly.

That's like asking google to explain their search algorithm. Most sites are pretty tight lipped other than saying upload great images, upload often and use relevant keywords.

Jjneff, is the quality of photo and video stock acceptable?
yes it is.

This is a very positive development! So far Adobe is doing everything right.
I would like to see increased saled numbers tho. So far I lost SS sales and IS sales but no corresponding jump at FT.
same here. Shutterstock numbers seem to be dropping a bit this month but the opposite change hasn't been happing on Fotolia. Perhaps there was just a Shutterstock search mix-up that affected me negatively.

Can you describe what's happening?
It was giving me errors when it was trying to log in with the captcha... but.. now it seems to be working a day later. Perhaps it was on shutterstock's side. I'll take some screenshots if it happens again.

Is it just me or are others having problems getting the software to log into Shutterstock to submit photos?

After a year of work today we released the new Stock Performer!
The big highlight is our new image recognition algorithm! It identifies all the agencies on which an image is present and merges its revenue and downloads. In this version we reworked all our reports to take advantage of image recognition's capabilities.
We are looking forward to seeing you there!
FINALLY FINALLY This is what I've been waiting for Well done .... scampers off to check it out...

Great to hear. I hope they continue to do well, it's great to see agencies be successful with a different business model.

How do you mean? sales, acceptance rates, search results???

30 keywords to describe subject in photo is plenty. Others are probably even not relevant.
Depends on the pic. Sometimes it's hard to get ten, sometimes 50 is 'tight'.
Yes. And if you only have pictures of individual wild animals, it's easy to get 10. But we all don't create the same kind of images.
DumC: Look at this picture by Creatista and tell me if you can properly sell it with only 30 KWs (include conceptual and objective):

biker, nerd, laptop, geek, dork, plaid, white, hat, bar, european, tavern, adult, cap, male, bandanna, sweater, gang, digital, people, intelligent, caucasian, female, expert, technology, smiling, computer, showing off, expectation, grinning, cool, middle aged, beer, troubleshooting, shoulder, woman, group, motorcycle gang, smart, ironic, mature, fedora, clever, proud, eyeglasses, man, confident, watching, happy
By the way, the SS suggests we do keywording at their latest webinar (http://www.shutterstock.com/blog/learn-effective-keywording-in-our-shuttertalk-live-presentation), it is impossible to under 30 KWs for most pictures.
Using your example, how many buyers searching using the keyword "beer" would choose this picture? Or would they choose an image where beer is the actual subject? Same goes for middle aged, expert, technology, plaid, white, hat, European, cap, male, bandana, sweater, gang, digital, intelligent,, Caucasian, female, smiling, troubleshooting, motorcycle gang, etc......you get the idea.
What they might search with and use this picture is "group of people around laptop" or "diverse group of people on laptop". I don't think any buyer would use a one word search and use this image.
Many buyers use several keywords when searching for photos. When you start using 3 (or more) keywords, the number of results start to get very thin. If you want a picture of a nerd helping a biker gang with a website or something.. you'd need to use more than one keyword. Yes, if someone wants a picture of a beer on white, they'll just search for beer and nothing else. If they want people drinking beer in the summer in the back yard, they search for back, yard, beer, summer, man (possibly also bbq, party, relax etc) .. if you don't have all those words, you'll be missing out on sales.
