You know why you dont want earnings capped or fooled around with?  I tell you: because everyones dream, everyones dream-agency is falling apart and the " do good" agency is not doing so good anymore, the so called most honest agency in the world turned out no more then any other agency.

Now if two x-employees of SS say not to me but to others, full-time photographers that earnings are controled, portfolios are controled!  well then you can imagine that theyre not going to believe YOU!!  are they?  just another supplier who is so good with stats. yeah sure man!....and you have been with micro-stock long enough now to know the score to see and judge for yourself that something is wrong, badly wrong and instead of believing that this "God sent to suppliers"  agency is nothing but just another agency!  crushing your dreams maybe. Youre not BIG enough to have experienced it! havent been doing it long enough to experience it. I cant remember but I think that somewhere along 2.5K a month was the barrier after that you were included in the capping brigade.

Capped or controlled?? hehe! whats the bloody difference?  nobody should control youre earnings.  But hey!  you carry on in this world of yours thinking youre working with honesty and rightfullness.....btw, how come people accept something called " hit the wall" ??  but not capping, to me thats just about the same! also these are the words of an x-employee!! Nope he would not come back to stock not the way we know and sell stock. Spoke to him about 5,6 months back and he sure knows the market is ruined. His company still sell stock though but not as microstock!

Ive known him personally for many years. Very early and when everyone else was more or less laughing at the very idea of microstock he still saw the potential of selling pics off the peg and he succeded!...few years later he employed lots of people, ran a massive studio and shot models and lifestyles like crazy, worked on the concept of quantity with quality!

There are at least 20 more good success stories with different people who made small fortunes in the early days but they are long gone, left microstock for something else!

On a different note. Gettys epic mistake in the early days was NOT realizing that micro-stock was the future for many, they laughed, finally they bought IS from Bruce and of course run it into the dirt!

rm agency are struggling much more than rf...don't believe the fool...to earn good money in rm is a miracle.
rf and rm are falling down...soon many agency will close the door believe me. just alamy seems to keep selling something. rm you need a lot of quantity and quality and something customer can't find anywhere. good money are still in rm news editorial agency if you have the right image. commercial rm are falling dwn.

Either youve been drinking too many beers or the heat have gotten to you!! haha!  among us people that have been doing RM for 20 odd years Alamy is considered the absolute WORST agency of them all!...Alamy is pretty much considered a glorified micro-agency!!.

When you think RM youre thinking of the obvious ones Getty, Stocksy, Alamy etc, etc. Forget these mate, I'm not at all talking about these places just forget those!

haha!  what do you think that these agencies to the right here in the column are the ones???  theyre the ones that wants to be there, wants to be seen so that people like you will join them!

This thread is all about quantity though whereas the really important factor is quality. There are plenty of folk out there who have produced massive portfolios but have relatively few sales. There's little or no point in that __ just a lot of wasted time and effort for everyone.

Yeah I agree! I only upload RM/RF nowadays but I have probably taken a 30% drop in microstock. Never mind!

The hard truth for the old timers -  their best images today wouldn't fetch enough per sale to get a cup of coffee especially at Starbucks!

nah you got it wrong mate!  to complain about a controled revenue system and new images dont sell is a FAR cry from complaining about  a month total earnings! I am still earning handsomely every month BUT not as good as a couple of years ago not as good as it could be.

So there you go old images isnt worth a sandwhich and new images not even worth the loo-paper in a French stand-up gutter bogg!....I take my sandwhich thank you!

This is not about you, or your reviews, not about you as a drummer when you were very young and I'm sure that was a brave move to go out and do that. The questions are about here and now and microstock. Not 50,000 messages on SS, but the business and microstock now.

You make up anything, like 30 important friends, to impress us, but they don't exist. Tell us why you left istock? You call it leaving and say we should follow, but the truth is you got kicked out and account closed. Why was that? Inquiring minds would like the truth.

Asking for the truth is not a personal attack, you take it that way and come back attacking. Then you block and will leave the forum, like you have so many times before. You've left the SS forums forever at least four times, maybe five. When you get caught, you make up a bigger new version and leave.

If you have proof of controlled revenue, which is the question, show us. I have friends too and some see a big drop, some see flat earnings, some are still uploading and working and making more money. Seems here that a couple of people who never made much, are complaining for eight years, now they say it's controlled income. Someone who only get 3-5 downloads a day, isn't going to see much variation are they.

Tell us what your 30 friends have found, some details, numbers, facts.

And maybe leave off the rant, personal attacks and bragging. Lets talk about microstock and the controlled revenue claims.

Haha! you know there are about two non public large stock-photography forums where only full-time photographers, professionals and also ex-employees and present employees in various Micro-agencies being photographers.
If you were allowed membership in these and spent a day there reading about certain agencies you would probably give up micro photography within 5 minutes, you would hear and read from the horses mouth what is going on and the tricks the agencies are getting up to. An insight very unpleasant actually.

So why haven't you given up? "about 2" so is it 1 or 3 or maybe more (or less)?

Harplee!....most of your replies here are talking about when they left IS some years back and when the going was good, when it was worth breaking exclusivity and go Indie!....not so today. I think most people who joined micro back in 2005-2006 etc can verify that takings have dropped catastrophically during the last 4-5 years.

I am still independent at IS and still earn good money in spite of their lousy commission!

Rigged!!  haha! yes indeed! the size of your portfolio is completely irrelevant! you can have 30K images full of crap right. Its all about your monthly earnings. If youre used to earnig over 2500 dollars a month chances are youre included in this what we call "oldies capped earnings".  if youre earnings are just around 1000 then youre not important enough and most people here have never experienced this capping business.
Lets face it whats the point in capping some poor sod with a 500/month payout!

As an x-employee told me when we went to the Pub and whos been working with them since the day they were launched and whom I've known from the old Image-Bank from the film days. He said " you got to give everyone a bite of the cherry or else people lose incentive"....at the time I thought sure thats logic. What I didnt know was the precidure of robbing earnings from one portfolio and give to another!...and hear, hear this was back in 2014..or that other lunatic Scott!!  remember him who ended up in a Row with everybody on their own forum, he got the boot and in leaving he got som 50 members banned for life from their own forum. Nice people arent they.

Now its all over the suits moved in the bean-counters took their desks and now its just an ordinary run of the mill microstock agency no moe no less.

Yes there are some true experts here!  and we have Physicians, political journalists, Diplomats and CIA, FBI agents. Then of course we also have simple pimps, ponses and panders of pictures, tinkers and bettlers but hey!  thats a different story!

Shelma!!  yes thats exactly what he does!  he throws out something, anything and wait for a response a reaction! and then he steams in. Further more he thrives in creating mayhem, loves confusion. Right now when the world is curious as to what was said behind locked doors, hes got every pen-pushing journalist in the world guessing, speculating. He does it on purpose, acting, playing sort of bewildered sometimes.
