upload them in smaller batches. If I upload multiple images at one time, I use images from different shoots. Then the next day I'll upload different images from the same shoots...seems to work pretty well.

How and ever, coming on here is extremely risky and maybe youd be best advised not to in the future if u want to protect your bizness. ![]() I TOTALLY commend ANY of the sites that come in here and exchange feedback with the photogs. There are a few sites that are oblivious to the cares and concerns of their contributors. On a negative note, I've been with Zym from the beginning with no sales to date. I've stopped uploading until I see some results. Same with MostPhotos but actually had my first sale there 3 days ago, but still not uploading anything until I see legit action. But both Zym and MP have been very responsive to the boards here, and for that I salute them whole-heartedly. 233

i guess it just depends on who's reviewing that day. i submit filtered AND unfiltered images. they are equally accepted and rejected but IS is still my #2 earner. One day I'll have 9 out of 10 rejected for various reasons, the next day 9 out of 10 accepted..bottom line, don't over think them, just get 'er done.

download a copy of Knoppix. You'll also need to download a CD burn tool that will burn ISO images. Burn an ISO of Knoppix to a CD. Boot your machine from the CD. Knoppix is a linux OS that runs from your drive and can access any/all of your drives and you should be able to darag and drop everything from the crapped drive to another external or internal. It worked for me when one of my drives s@*t the bed.
I would also recommend downloading Clonezilla and start periodically making ISO backups of your drives. Next time one goes down, you simply reload your latest image of that drive and all of your data, applications (including Windows or whatever OS you're using), and all your user names/password are intact. Hope this helps - good luck. 239

I'm selling 2 - 3 images per month ($10 sale = $3 payout...never opted for subs). Plus they're selling images that, for whatever reason, are not moving on the other sites. Easy upload and low cash out...no complaints here.

SnapVillage.com / Re: NEWS - Ivan Purdie on SnapVillage« on: July 08, 2008, 15:36 »
just to play devil's advocate, my sales there are increasing monthly (I do wish they would make a better $ split on the sales however). I thought the interview was laid back and casual. As an image buyer as well, I don't want some maniac in a clown suit juggling kittens, just tell me what you've got and I'll go check it out. If your product sucks, I won't be back etc...
I'm going to give these guys some more time as I think that some of the current players will likely meet a demise very soon (some I'll miss, others I won't). These guys actually have some advert $ and hopefully will opt to expend more when they have a large enough inventory. 246
Adobe Stock / Re: Rejections, rejections, rejections...« on: July 08, 2008, 15:27 »
in an attempt to see if their rejections had anything to do with mass uploading, I submitted 1 image a day for 30 days. Results: 2 out of 30 accepted. Prior to the rejection flurry, my acceptance was 92%. I am now going to upload 1 image a month until they come back around or go under...way too much effort for that ratio.
On a positive note, June was my BME with them regarding sales. The irony is that 75% of the photos shot down over the last 30 days are from the same shoots that are selling very well there. Crack babies at the reviewer helm I guess...just don't get it. 247

iStockPhoto.com / Re: PendingExecutive review« on: June 22, 2008, 11:39 »Should I add to my description clarifying that similar photos are already in their database? okay, in response to the top of the thread; I usually get 1 - 2 of these a month. The ones that do not require a release i simply leave alone. Eventually they all have been approved. Don't worry about it, leave them up there and there's a better than average chance they'll get through. Surley if he/she were doing something against policy, IS would simply decline the image. |
