Your title says "Stuckuploader". That's funny because you sure don't want things to get stuck when you upload them!

Press the camera icon button, right of the eyeviewer and red dot.

It is in the agencies best interest that this doesn't happen. They don't want you to sell direct to their customers.

Everytime I see one of these threads, I wonder how anyone could ask what someone would charge for retouching. How much retouching? It's like asking a doctor what he would charge for an operation without specifying what kind of operation.

230
It's quite easy. Open a new file, the same dimensions, Shift/Drag your photo to the new file, and voila, no data. I have an Action that does it in seconds.

I strip it out of every image I upload. It is needless.

The Letter, by The Boxtops.

A quick youtube search shows over 7 millon views on just the first page of results. I hope you got your royalties for that. I doesn't appear that soundexchange covers youtube.

Interesting. I haven't heard of musicians collecting money from Youtube. How do you collect royalties on money that was never exchanged? What was sold?

SoundExchange is the industry standard. I get royalties twice a year from a hit record I played drums on in 1967.

"SoundExchange is the non-profit performance rights organization that collects statutory royalties from satellite radio (such as SIRIUS XM), internet radio, cable TV music channels and similar platforms for streaming sound recordings.  The Copyright Royalty Board, which is appointed by The U.S. Library of Congress, has entrusted SoundExchange as the sole entity in the United States to collect and distribute these digital performance royalties on behalf of featured recording artists, master rights owners (like record labels), and independent artists who record and own their masters."

Actually, this is an easy fix. Go under Templates, and make a template that includes the word Photoshop as the software. Call the template "Photoshop" so you can find it easily. Then, you won't have to include what camera was used. Tick all the boxes, and apply the Template.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Rough shadows from paper
« on: July 10, 2013, 10:09 »
if you've no experience with Pro printing, save your time and go in an expensive print shop, talk with the guys there and ask them advice about the best paper/printer/profile combo solution.

you WILL save time and money and headaches paying a professional to do the printing for you, trust me !

there's just too many factors to take into accounts, too many variables, too many limits in most of the machines about gamut/paper/profiles.

i wouldn't touch an inkjet printer with a 10 foot pole nowadays and i do have hands-on experience having worked in my past life in digital printing, it's a BIG MESS, for instance the black in your images are probably not printed using black ink but with a mix of black and green and it will come out differently on each paper unless you know exactly what you're doing.

there's no way for a consumer to save money on all this, inks and papers are overpriced, only print labs can provide a good deal.

It's an intellectual dilemma. How do you discuss the quality of inspections being down, without showing examples? How do you show examples without offending?

Off Topic / Tahrir Square Laser lights
« on: July 04, 2013, 17:27 »
Does anyone know where all the green laser lights from the crowd in Tahrir Square come from? Are they pen lights? It looks like some one had a concession on the green ones!

I think this was the first revolution with a laser light show. All future revolutions will have to include them.

Off Topic / Re: Dreamstime- Poor Sales
« on: June 12, 2013, 07:18 »
I had 17 sales yesterday. All subscriptions, all additional formats, all searched for dove, even though none of my files have the keyword dove. (same buyer?) I usually sell 3 - 6 per day.

486 files online.

Newbie Discussion / Re: Tips on generating ideas for stock
« on: June 04, 2013, 08:34 »
People have a tendency to photograph pretty things:
Pretty flowers, pretty, women and pretty landscapes.

But it can help you to do the opposite.
Fx "broken". Photograph everything broken: broken glass, flat tire, broken piece of wood etc.....
or everything rotten.
Those pictures also sell and they are not so abundant as the pretty ones.

Just make sure, as usual with stock photos, that your compose the image so it supports the keywords you have photographed.

I agree, but not so much for Fotolia. They seem to prefer new, pretty things. At least, that's my experience.

Let's ask gay people to 'just try' being straight for a month.  Then we all vote on whether we think that was a 'success'.  Seems fair to me.

Let me see if I follow your logic.  You're saying that everyone in the Microstock Group is gay?  And, Leaf is proposing that we all go straight for a month?

247
I know I am a bit slow,so I do not quite get this trail thing. For one month everyone disclose who they really are, if it does not work we go back to being anonymous?  :o

Obviously, you wouldn't disclose who you really are, if you wanted to remain anonymous. You would either pay for the privilege or just go away, during the trial.

Oh, I get it, for one month only those who want to remain anonymous must pay or go. After the month, if it did not work (not sure what the standard will be in judging if it worked or not), the anonymous people who paid will get their money back and all the deserters will creep back from the dark corners of the internet, where they waited quietly in obscurity and darkness, to rejoin the flock of rich faceless ones who remained.

Still think I am just too slow for the type of reasoning.....  :-\

I'm not sure I follow your logic. Why would you get your money back for month's service you agreed too? If you like, I can send you $5.00 for the trial. I'm not rich or faceless, but I can afford the $5.00.

I think a lot of people are forgetting that the Leaf's proposal is that we just try it for a month. If it works out that the site is better, then the arguments against it, will just fade away. If it's not any better, then it can just go back to how it is now.
I suspect that people that are agaisnt a trial, are afraid that the outcome might produce a better experince for the microstock community. If not, then their arguments will have been proven correct. A trial is the only way to find out for sure.
I'm not so sure people would come back, 4 people already left just at the suggestion of it, some of them probably won't be back.  If it works out better then great but if it doesn't is the site done?

tickstock, what are you still doing here?    I thought you said, "See ya later then.  I'm out." (2nd post of the whole thread)
