Not for me.  I made over 25% more on SS than on IS and last month at fotolia because of 4 els, 2 each  at 150$  and 100$ even they beat them by a small amount.

Don't know if you've changed it or not but StockXpert is working for me.  Can't check DT at the moment as the site seems to be down.

Are you sure that your e.mail was sent?  When you contact support on DT after pressing send it takes you to a new page where you need to scroll down to the bottom and press to confirm that you want the e.mail sent.

LOL  That put me in my place. Actually it's so time consuming to upload to a new site that I find any excuse not to unless its proved a really good money maker which this doesn't particularly seem to be.

I agree completly that this should never have been refused but the question was 'please tell me how to fix it'.

This one was rejected for composition

Please tell me how to fix it  :)

My eyes are drawn to the driftwood instead of the women.  I think if you clone it out you'll have a good seller.

About 6 weeks.  I sold 1500 in first month and didn't reach that figure again for 6 months inspite of uploading loads more images.

I'm on line for BME.  So far I have a better average dl/day than any other month.  :)

It will probably be a BME on SS, DT, BS, 123 and StockXpert. but IS has been down for months and last month on Fotolia I got 2x150$  and 2x 100$ Els and none at all this month so can't hope to get near last months figure.  It might be a bme overall but will probably my 2nd bme because of the 500$ less on FT.

BME all over or just SS?     Definitely not my BME all around, in fact, WME on a couple sites.   But it will be my BME on SS.  Why?  No clue, funny thing is I haven't been crazy about uploading this month to SS either, which is contrary to the usual need to feed the beast of SS to keep sales up.   8)=tom

Wow, but I'm not surprised, just those ducks alone must have sold 1000's of times.

I think that a lot of the time when people complain about Dt not replying it's because the e.mail was never sent.   When you send an e.mail to support you have to scroll down to the bottom of the 2nd page that comes up and click on the button to confirm that you want the e.mail sent.  I was caught out by that the first couple of times I tried to send e.mails.

StockXpert.com / Re: StockXpert Announces Price Increase
« on: March 26, 2008, 02:26 »
I have to agree with Lisa,  I'm also loving it.  My average price per download yesterday was 1.75$.  I've never got that anywhere else although I expect that the average will gradually go down if more people buy subs. For those of you that opted out the average price per dl will stay high but number of sales will probably go down.

Boy, I am loving the new prices.  My total $ today on Stockxpert is roughly double what it would usually be.   Very happy to have received $5 apiece for three XL sales.  :D

Thanks a lot for the hefty raise guys!!

Don't know if this is of any interest to any of you but clipping paths are now allowed at SS.

I can't.  But the person in the photo may, as he probably had that specific clothes, shoes and makes a living being on roofs.

He would be especially annoyed if it ended up being used by a rival company.

StockXpert.com / Re: Subscritions at StockXpert
« on: March 19, 2008, 02:37 »
To me it's all about total earnings.  I have 800 images on SS and this month I'm averaging just over 100 dls/day. With a few el's thrown in  I should earn about 1000$ by the end of the month.  The most I've ever made anywhere else is about 700$ a couple of times on IS.  To me that is a convincing enough reason to accept 30c a time.
I check my stats far more at SS than anywhere else.  I also like the satisfaticion of seeing the numbers go up quickly :)

I have no philosophical objection to subscription sales

I do.  I think it's an absurd that images may cost so little.  The "advantage" of subs model is offering images "as low as 30c" or something like that.  I don't see the merit in selling high res images so cheap.  What do you buy with 30c?  Bubble gum?

Regards,
Adelaide

I can't make my mind up.  I opted in and the sub sales annoyed me so I opted out and it didn't seem to make much difference except that I didn't have the sub sales.  Now I've just opted back in  to see what happens and the first day after I had 14 normal sales when my normal is about 8 and no subs so I don't know what to think.   I'm worried that opting out is affecting our placement in the popular/best match or whatever they call it at StockXpert

Do the subscription sites (Shutterstock & Dreamstime ??) allow contributors to opt out of their subscription schemes?
SS is only a subscription site so if you could opt out you would be opting out of all sales and Dt don't allow you to opt out.

Adobe Stock / Re: Changing of pricing at Fotolia
« on: March 14, 2008, 23:49 »
I also wish that they would change it to gold for increasing prices, I have over 4000 to go so it will take me about 10 more months  :(

no no.. fotolia is not changing their pricing structure.

I just thought I would whine a little bit about how I would like to be able to increase my pricing on my images by 1 credit.  I am still only a Gold member, but it seems so long to wait to get to Emerald.  I think they could earn themselves and us photographers more money by letting us increase the pricing on our images just a little :)

2396
I agree with you here.  I spend a lot of time studying the workings of each site. It definitely pays to work out the ways of maximizing sales on each site.

Thanks. BTW - how do you manage to produce 10 pics for submission every day (unless this is a full time job for you  :o )?

Yes, I do this full time.

I manage when and what I upload, and always have a reserve of images at the ready (currently 50+ for StockXpert). I started a thread about uploading strategies a few weeks ago, but just about everyone thought I was wasting my time studying this. The general consesus was that I'd be further ahead making images rather than figuring out how to maximize the profit from them. The prevailing attitude is to make a bunch of images, upload as soon as you can, then see what sticks. Pell-mell and amateurish. The professional approach, to me at least, is obvious.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: more strict keywording
« on: March 14, 2008, 01:20 »

If they don't allow me to have "kid" and "child" because they are synonyms, and I pick "child", my image won't show (or will appear behnd) if someone searches for "kid".  Am I wrong?

I'm glad to say that you are wrong on this.  If you have kid in your keywords and someone searches on child your image will come up just the same as if you had child and visa versa.

Congats on getting into SS and on your betting win. :)
SS is a great site if you upload regularly.  I made 50% more there than at IS last month and this month looks like being even better.

I don't. Just assumed it was the same buyer. It was a fairly obscure image and was bought at the same time.
Ok, shame I was hoping that they also told us who bought our images :(
