@Lucato: How are your more recent uploads to iS selling, say from the last couple of years?
Hi ShadySue, I'm sorry, but I do not keep tracking how the latest uploads are selling. I focus on the whole portfolio and keep uploading when possible. ;0) But in general the BME in Shutter was Mar/14 and the other best match was on Nov/14, and from Mar/14 started to goes down until Ago/14 (Down from the average income 25%), after that it started to rise a little and kept on the same level until now a days.

Sorry no link to the calculator.
Also I don't understand your math. Why is iStock 100%?
Surely a better way is to have all the percentages add up to 100% and show each agency as %.
i.e. iStock 25% shutterstock 35% etc...
Hi Teddy, I'm sorry for missing the link. I have edited the post and the link is there now. Regarding you doubt, iStock is 100% because it is the agency I make more money. Therefore, it is my main income (100%). This way, you consider the agency you make more money as 100% to get to calculate the other agencies percentages based on the rule of three. So, in other words (Example): If on April/15 at iStock I made for example US$ 1,000 (100% MAIN INCOME), how much Shutter represents in percentage if it made US$ 300,00? Use rule of three ( See the calculator ): 1000 (Value A) = 100 (Value B) 300 (Value x) = x (Result Y) So, Shutter represents 30% of my main INCOME. I hope that helps.

Istock has gone from being my outright winner several years back to about 6th or 7th place in earnings. I rarely bother uploading there nowadays. It doesn't seem worth all the effort when places like 123rf with an easy upload perform better.
Wow, 6th/7th place. Who is in your 1st and 2nd place? IMHO who has the better management for uploading is Photodune also Shutter with drag&drop and indexing link.

... I haven't uploaded anything there for several months. Also, you have to remember that the upload process for istock is incredibly tedious and time-consuming...
Maybe you have forgotten or don't know yet the DeepMeta Free software for uploading to iStock.

Hi folks, Now a days I'm uploading to 8 agencies and I was wondering how is it going for you guys too. Let me share my data and it would be cool to have yours. ;0) Assuming that iStock would be my 100% income (my 1st Top tier), see the other agencies percentage compared to iStock income: Data based on JUN/2014:Agency (#files) - Percentage: iStock (7545) - 100% Shutter (4895) - 63% Fotolia (5347) - 13% Photodune (6213) - 6% Dreamstime (4150) - 5% 123RF (6522) - 4% Depositphotos (6345) - 4% BigStock (4840) - 4% GLStock (2446) - 0% (Canceled/quit) Alamy (0) - 0% (Canceled/quit) Data based on MAR/15Agency (#files) - Percentage: iStock (7763) - 100% Still 1st top tier. Shutter (5287) - 72% ^ Fotolia (5565) - 15% ^ Photodune (6377) - 6% = Dreamstime (5182) - 7% ^ 123RF (6731) - 6% ^ Depositphotos (6575) - 8% ^ BigStock (5234) - 4% = For those that uses the other method for calculation, the percentages related of total income, the percentages are:Data based on MAR/15Agency (#files) - Percentage: iStock (7763) - 45%. Shutter (5287) - 33% Fotolia (5565) - 7% Depositphotos (6575) - 4% Photodune (6377) - 3% Dreamstime (5182) - 3% 123RF (6731) - 3% BigStock (5234) - 2% So, as you can see, the really worth agencies are iStock and Shutter, not sure if all others worth the time and effort for uploading, categorizing and so on instead of using the time for taking shots, treating images and so on for the 2 first top tiers. I still keep uploading to mid/low earnings because we have two common phrases in my country: 1. "The hope is the last one to die". 2. "Seed corn by seed corn, the hen fills its craw". Here is a online calculator to help you calculate yours. ;0) Have a nice day.

IMHO by deactivating the iStock forum is another proof that they don't want to waste time listening us. So, it means, "we do the way we want, if you like it ok, if you don't, the door to leave is open".
I'll miss the tips from other members and the DeepMeta forum. You're always absorbing some tip/learning. Thanks we will have the microstockgroup to keep learning and sharing experiences Here is the top tier forum for the microstock world. :0)

Hi folks. In the microstock world we have the best top tier sites: Shutterstock and iStock.
I wonder: 1. What are the top tier sites for selling Instagram. 2. Is somebody making good money selling Instagram prints? Not the sit owners. :0) 3. If somebody here is working in the "Instagram" world selling prints and so on and is happy with the income results, and what is its month average and what is the "agency"?
Here are some sites I have heard that sells instagram, but I don't know how they are as a sellers, good or not, top tiers or not: a) Twenty20; b) Instaquadros (BR); c) Hashpix (Page is not working from here); d) Instaprints;
Have a nice day and waiting your feedback.

I just got the same invite from FB. With no info how many visits/sales/upload they get per day lately. Should have a video showing the upload process and so on to know the platform without needing to join.
IMHO with this flooded competition of microstock sites, they need to start offering the contrary way: 100% or 90% revenue at the 1st year, so they get to build a data also and we "lose" our time in another microstock that doesn't sell a dime for a while; 80% revenue at the second year. 70% revenue at the 3rd year and no more reductions.
Well, I wish good luck, but I'm not interested in this moment neither to try the platform, unless it proves me that I can make at least thousand bucks per month right away. Kkkk. ;0)

Hi folks.
You guys that are already selling direct, have tried several WP themes, Joomla and platforms. So, I wonder: 1. in your opinion what is the best platform, wp theme to sell images direct and why. It can be free or paid versions; 2. What is your monthly average selling direct? 3. Does it worth all your effort (Setting all platform, upload, keywording, payment gateway, and so on)?
I have tried Symbiostock, but never had a single sale or even a single registration. :0(
Thanks.

Nope, hyphens are removed. You can put those phrases in the description, descriptions are searched. Small words that are not english are removed from keywords but not descriptions. You will have to contact support for a definitive answer.
Yes etudiante_rapide , I tried hyphens and as cuppacofee said they are really removed, also tried adding the keyword between quotation marks when editing at the pending line, but it seem that will not work. Thanks about the descriptions tip. I didn't know they are searcheable withing the Dreamstime search system. Anyway I will contact support. Have a nice day.

How do I add a city name in the keywords in Dreamstime. Example: "Arraial dajuda Eco Resort", "Sao Paulo", "Ribeirao da ilha". DT is breaking the keyword phrase into single keywords and as a result rejections about keywords are received.
Is there some way to insert a keyword phrase without braking it into single words at DT?
Thanks

I'm not defending DPC, but just as a doubt:
I see all folks complaining about it, on the other hand, I see a bunch of these contributors also sells their image at Shutterstock which also has a subscription plans that you make from $0.25 to $0.38 per image. I would say it is the same as a Dollar Photo Club income with other name: 25-A-Day subscription plan and DPC pays you $0.25 to $0.40.
So, in sum, isn't it the same? I am wrong?

Hi folks, I'd like to hear from those that opted out why you did it and what are your CONS thoughts on the contributors side and from those that opted in Dollar Photo Club, what are the PROS on the contributors side and how are the sales doing, and etc. Feel free to mention your Pros/Cons toughts also on the buyers side too. Thanks and have a nice day.

When we perform a search in the MSG forum , it would have the option to show only: Messages | Topics | Attachments as we have when we see in our profile our own posts that we get to filter by these "Messages | Topics | Attachments". Sometimes, I don't want to see all messages with the same serch results, and just the topics that have such serch results. Well, just a suggestion. Thanks.

iStock is over-stepping on this one but not because of any legal issues with FIFA. Getty has some kind of deal with FIFA to be the "official" photo agency of the World Cup, so Getty has to make sure that nothing even remotely related to soccer in 2014 shows up on iStock and elsewhere in the Getty family.
Other companies, like Shutterstock, are a lot more allowing of World Cup related images.
Yes, all other agencies are accepting with keywords World Cup, or they are not warned about the protected term or other. If it is a protected term we cannot even use it here. kkkkk. Fifa should explain better the protected terms and uses.

Yes, it came up on an iS thread a few weeks back (but forum search is so awful, as usual I can't find it.) World Cup for sure, but also Brazil 2014, even Football 2014 seem to be considered 'risky', so better set as editorial, which may not be possible with your particular content.
Found (re deactivation): http://www.istockphoto.com/forum_messages.php?threadid=361002&page=1
"The restrictions are extremely tight surrounding anything that could possibly be interpreted as referring to the World Cup. Images that we used to consider acceptable no longer are. When we have to start enforcing new, tighter restrictions, it's almost always the result of contact with the rights holder, along with careful deliberation by iStock's legal team. I agree it's surprising what we now have to reject in this realm, but iStock has determined where it wants to draw the line on risk. There are many many subjects iStock will not accept into the creative collection which displeases many contributors, however it's iStock's site and it's their call - sorry I don't really have more encouraging news than that."
Yes, iStockforum is a pain to find something. Thanks for your reply. I'll check it out.

World Cup and Brazil 2014 are trademarked. I would believe it is not allowed for any agency to accept those terms as commercial RF or RM.
http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederation/marketing/01/37/85/97/2014_fifapublicguidelines_eng_17052013.pdf
2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup FIFA World Cup FIFA World Cup 2014 World Cup World Cup 2014 Brazil 2014 2014 Brazil Football World Cup Soccer World Cup Copa 2014 Copa do Mundo Mundial 2014 Mundial de Futebol Brasil 2014 Copa do Mundo 2014 HOST CITY names + 2014 for each of the host cities (e.g. Rio 2014, etc.)
Thanks for your reply. That is rediculous to trademark a world like World cup or Football World Cup , it is the same as wanting to trademark God, Jesus. How are you going to specify in keywords something related to it? IMHO it should be protected when applied on a campaing, ad or something else and not just for a single world or keyword.

Hi folks, On the top left, there is "Hello username" and bellow it:
Show unread posts since last visit. Show new replies to your posts. How do I get to see just the topics I have created (OP)?
Below the two links above would have a new link: Show your topics.

Does iStock inspectors think that the keyword "World Cup" (Championship term) is FIFA trademark?
All my images (fans in studio with a costume) are going to executive pending and other receiving the rejection about FIFA trademark. What a pain!
Is anybody else facing the same?
