I guess we all knew they'd only take a few and the free collection will still undermine sales everywhere.

'This doesn't have an impact on the Creative Cloud bonus program. Downloads in Free will not count toward your sales statistics. ' I'm confused. Downloads from free WILL or WILL NOT count towards the free PS etc deal? Hate the idea of yet more free anyway.

It seems that Novel Use and Distribution can only be opted out during the month of April! SERIOUSLY! Guess the default is that we are all opted in hence this flurry of 10 cent sales. I can't say I recall any communication about this......

I did track down a PERSON at Alamy.  Seems the 10 cent sales are for Distribution - formerly Novel Use I seem to recall? I thought I had these turned off and had never seen any before, so wonder if the default has been reset to permit these.... Anyway, for info.

I’m excited to share Unsplash is being acquired by Getty Images today.
The reason I’m excited about this acquisition is because it’s not goodbye, it’s about acceleration.
This is not one of those tech acquisitions where the company is bought to be shut down. Unsplash will continue to operate as a standalone brand and division of Getty Images. The entire Unsplash team will be staying and building Unsplash in the direction we have been. The main difference now is we have access to the resources and experience of Getty Images to help accelerate our plans to create the world’s most useful visual asset library.
In 2016, we first met the Getty Images team. We weren’t sure they would see the world the same way we did given their business was largely built on licensing. Over years of conversations, however, we learned about the level of respect they had for the Unsplash community and the rights of creators to choose how and where their imagery is made available. Craig Peters, Getty Images CEO, told me, “We have so much admiration for Unsplash. What you’re doing for creativity and what you’ve built is incredible.”
It also became clear we shared a similar view of the world. The impact of imagery has never been greater and will only become greater in the future. And we both aim to push that impact further than anyone has ever done before.
After interacting with the team at Getty Images more and better understanding their long-term vision, we realized we shared so much alignment that going at this together could be much more impactful than going at it separately.

Shutterstock last year pulled the carpet from underneath you and then told you they will do it again every year on January 1st.
And you now act surprised that your income stream is down??? what did you think was going to happen, your income would triple???
I don't think anybody is surprised -or acting surprised. But the amount of the downturn is significantly worse than expected.
I don't think anybody really spends 'all day' whinging on the forums.
If you don't want to read these threads, then please don't read them.
If people who are dismayed with it all want to come here and vent then what is your problem?
In any case there is no need to be rude and tell us to 'shut up'.
Insults and bullying and the desire to 'cancel' differing opinions is getting everywhere even in small forums like this. Almost as depressing as the SS results for Jan.

Wow! Unless there is a miracle, it looks like I will be almost 75% down on January 2020 (and 2019). Obviously with the ripoff Levels change I expected a drop - but down to one quarter of last year? Amazing. And none of the other sites even begin to make up the the slack.

OK. Pretty decent sum has turned up for Subs income November. But not the same as previous months. So not the 'double earnings' any more or is it just me who has got this reduced amount?
