Is it possible that the auto-payment didn't go through (e.g. if you had to change your card since last year)? They don't tell you about this, you only find out when you get that account closed message.yes and today they charged me $30 the account is still closed 28

The last communication I have from FAA in my mailbox is about some sale
Couple of weeks since then I wanted to submit a new work and got the following message This account is closed. If you would like to re-enable it, please contact our technical support department by filling out the form The support is not answering for about a week. If there other people having the same problem? Was FAA or me personally hacked? 29

As many may know SS is working with IBM about using AI, so those crazy portfolios can be an AI test data, or AI produced "artwork"

General Stock Discussion / Re: Alamy way of handling copyright claims« on: November 17, 2017, 14:57 »Quote from: ShadySue I'd start with insisting on this step being carried out.but what can be proven by vector file source? I can imagine that the thief didn't know that it is stock file and just traced it from some file found in internet, so vector nodes can be different from my file. And even if they are the same? My word against his. The only good argument I have is SS upload date. BTW the file is pretty popular with copycats, but they at least modifying it much more than this particular guy. 36

Story:
There is a person who copied my vector, changed color and put it on sale. When I found it occasionally on SS I contacted SS team and they got it removed quickly. Later when looking in google image search for examples of my picture in use I found the re-colored picture again now on alamy site. And their way of handling the issue is making me very upset Here is an e-mail trail: Quote from: 'Me (in October)'
Quote from: 'Alamy (2 days later)' Thanks for letting us know. Weve contacted the contributor of the vector about this situation to ask for clarification. Quote from: 'Me (month later)'
Quote from: 'Alamy' ... Me: sending official DMCA take down request Quote from: 'Alamy' To quickly explain how we work, we dont own any images, or hold any copyright. Photographers and agencies upload images to license through our platform, and by doing so they confirm they have the necessary permissions to license these images through us. We have a non-exclusive relationship with our contributors, and the images may be available elsewhere. We dont commission work, or employ members of staff as photographers. My conclusions:
My question: should I look for a lawyer in UK or in US (since alamy have US office as far as I know)? PS I will not put any pictures or names here, assuming the info above is enough to discuss the issue in general PPS I see that I am not alone facing the issue : http://www.microstockgroup.com/alamy-com/alamy-and-copyright-infringement/ 37

there is a theory that, once you showed FB your business intent (by buying ads) you will go down in natural search, to make you buy more ads

General Stock Discussion / Re: Uber vs microstock« on: August 31, 2016, 07:46 »
talking about good uber experience as customer should be compared with being microstock buyer, and being uber driver should be compared with being microstock photographer.Otherwise the topic have no meaning.
Sure we can talk about benefits of the new taxi service but we all know them (i assume) 40
General Stock Discussion / Re: Uber vs microstock« on: August 29, 2016, 13:53 »
I think the point is that _possibly_ [some] uber drivers and micro stock photographers are losing more than gaining but because of the nature of crowdsourcing there are always some new people coming trying to make it work for them. So potentially you may have a live business which is unprofitable for the person doing the work

General Stock Discussion / Uber vs microstock« on: August 29, 2016, 08:21 »
Can you see something common or microstock is copletely different story?
Quote It's not just Uber. A growing number of delivery companies are going the so-called "independent contractor" route. Uber, Lyft, Flex, etc. are taking advantage of the fact that people simply don't know what they're getting into. People equate the $X per hour amount with a regular wage and think they're making bank, when in fact it's less than minimum wage (with no benefits). There is no regulatory floor here, and in fact some people working for these companies are probably winding up net negative.from http://uberpeople.net/threads/max-chafkin-is-an-idiot.99372/#post-1403030 43

it is a major change, are they saying we will not be able to delete our files anymore? (I guess they are going to use Getty policy "all or nothing", so you wish you have to delete whole portfolio but not specific files)

Shutterstock.com / Re: Email from SS - Regarding Repeated Words and Phrases in Image Titles« on: June 30, 2016, 15:27 »
here is my suggestions to SS
1) create /run a report which extract problematic image IDs per customer, it can be a heavy process from performance stand point but contributors cant do it from their side at all unless SS is expecting us to go through thousands of pictures one by one 2) make sure you(SS) validate the title field during submission/update 3) have a postmortem analysis around this Repeated Words communication failure 49
