General Photography Discussion / Re: How to improve pictures to make them acceptable?« on: November 09, 2018, 15:46 »
Jo Ann if your files are to small from the old technology , Topaz AI Gigapixel is magic pixey dust that really works great to upsize. I know you are not suppose to upsize but this software is really special. I think the cost is 60-70 bucks and worth ever penny. It is worth trying as I have found all the Topaz plugins are very special pixey dust which have made a lot of money for me. Good luck, your examples look very cool.

Pond5 / Re: Is it worth it to upload photographs to Pond5?« on: November 08, 2018, 11:34 »
I sell 20-30 bucks a months of still images at Ponds. That buys almost a tank of gas for me. So yes for me...I am a cheap date.

So they do pay more than 35cents an image. About the same as SS. Thanks,

Jacoblund you may be correct . I do know when a customer buys your image that customer will never buy that image again , anywhere. I have always wondered and maybe you have numbers on this. How much do people shop around for image prices. I know for myself when I am looking for ideas and inspiration on sites I get very bored and lose interest fast at looking at pages and pages of images. Do buyers do the same, I am guessing they do. We all want instant gratification. That is why Amazon works so well. Find your item and leave, sometimes price high or low is not a factor?

I am not sure I see what is wrong with this agency. SS pays me 38 cents a sell. This company pays 35 cents a sale. I highly doubt they will sell the numbers of SS but the pay per image is nearly the same. I know SS has extended sales but those have all but gone away for me. Just my thoughts.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Wemark« on: November 05, 2018, 14:12 »
Wemark just replied to this to me. This was the most interesting part of their message.
"I believe that we'll speed up the review process for all photographers around the second half of 2019" I also ask them to delete my account. Wonder how long that will take. 259
General Stock Discussion / Re: Wemark« on: November 04, 2018, 12:16 »
I am guessing that Wemark went wee wee all the way home . I have sent them messages asking about upload status. No response. Wee wee all the way home block chain or not.

123RF / Re: New to 123RF. How long does it take after images are uploaded to get reviewed?« on: October 30, 2018, 12:14 »
They take 2-3 months to approve my images. I still keep uploading to them as I am still selling 60-80 bucks of images a month.

Bigstock has always required seven title words. I guess a green haired software coder wrote this requirement . I good trick to put in after your short description " image has room for your type".

General Photography Discussion / Re: Great spot in Tokyo?« on: August 21, 2018, 13:23 »
Tokyo is also very camera friendly. I know a lot of cities in the US and the world I have felt a little paranoid carrying cameras around. In Tokyo it is like 50% of the folks on the street have a camera around their neck. Tokyo and most other Japanese cities are really camera friendly.

General Photography Discussion / Re: Who is responsible of copyright infringement of a photo« on: August 17, 2018, 09:10 »
I beg to differ. All that have deep pockets can be held reasonable for any miss used photos. A good friend of mine is in the legal business. He is only somewhat a slime bucket. His firm will go after anyone who has money or wealth. They do a research on who they are going to sue. If their research comes up with either enough insurance or cash they will go after you. So at the end of the day you the photographer can be sought after legally if you have assumed liability and money in the bank. Good luck..Welcome to America.... PS if you are broke not much to worry about....

I bet if I reviewed all of the folks on this form site most of your images have been done before. There is just X amount of ways you can take a pic of a baked potato. Just keep taking pics and make them better than the other baked potato's. "You can do it"....SNL quote.

By the time this post started and everyone has bitched and moaned about having their images copied I have shot 100 images. Just shoot and make new images and leave everyone on in your dust.

David K, I have had so many of my images copied over the years. If I put anytime or thoughts it to it , maybe I have lost some 33 cent sells. If someone copies me it just is simply flattery.... Follow my dust in my rearview mirror as I create new images.
