I've only just started using Xpiks, and I really like it but haven't figured out how to use it for Alamy? Does it work, and do I need to create separate options for commercial, editorial, vector, etc?
Xpiks can correctly upload vector and photos to Alamy, but currently there's no concept of editorial photos in Xpiks. However, we're working on it and eventually it will be there.
Thanks for letting me know and I'll take another look. The upload failed earlier today, but Alamy have had some site problems, so it may be an issue at their end.

Does anyone know if there is a setting I can change to stop the Add Files option defaulting to my 'Picture' folder on a Mac? I have to navigate each time to my 'Stock' folder, and I'd like to set this either as the default or for the app to automatically go to the last used location.
Hi KuriousKat
Thanks for your feedback. The functionality you request is already implemented and will be available in new Xpiks release that is going to be published in September. Currently in version 1.5.5.9 (latest Xpiks release) it is impossible to do that.

I'm also short by about $150, so I've emailed to ask what happened. Checking my earnings for July, the payment I've received is not double my March payment, nor does it match the actual stated earnings for the month, so I'm not sure what's going on.
Response from Canva indicated that there had been a technical problem that should be corrected by the end of this week.

I have no idea whether this is a glitch or an omen of things to come, but my Shutterstock favicon just changed itself to Google:

I've answered that I won't be disabling/deleting my account, but I would have liked a 'stop uploading' option, as that is my current intention.
I will allow my current portfolio to be active through June, just to get an idea of how much much my RPD is affected, (currently Level 5), so that I can gauge the full impact of this move. If it is negative at Level 5 then come January it will be a disaster, so i will defer making any irreversible decisions until July 1st.

Not much difference as Alamy licenses are all RM/RF hybrid anyway.
Do you get many sales and is it worth the effort? They were one or my lowest performers last year, but I didn't upload much.
I publish all my earnings on my blog - see link below.
I don't differentiate between RF and RM sales. At a quick glance, they're quite similarly priced. I've seen RF sales at $100+ and RM sales at <$2 and everything in between.
OK, thanks. I was wondering if RF faired better or worse against RM, but overall figures are also a helpful guide. I'm busy culling dead wood, but there are one or two places that I wish to research a little more before deciding whether to cut them loose.

How successful are Alamy contributors with RF sales?
I know many did well with RM, but what has the experience been like for those who only have RF images to upload? I used to hate uploading to them, as the interface was so clunky, but the newer upload system is easier so I'm wondering if it's worth making the effort?

Didn't they say 15th at the latest in one of their replies? (or was that for reporting not payment?)
I think that was for reporting - which they did on the 15th. That said, the latest I've ever received payment in the past was the 16th, and usually much earlier than that. I'm not sure what the contributor TOS say, as they aren't easy to find.

I've kept a portfolio on Istock as, despite a smattering of the very low sales, my RPD average is reasonable. I suspect the Canva situation will now reduce it to unacceptable levels. They are perhaps happy bedfellows, but it might prove to be too much for the rest of us to stomach.

Well I saw it before they deleted it, and my downloads had increased by 500%.
No wonder they removed the field from the sales page, as everyone must be pretty angry to realise the true RPD.
Canva are clearly too ashamed to be transparent on this issue.
Wow, 5x more downloads and less income?
Anyone here got an increase in their income with this new subscription? Or we can start a poll if you want to remain anonymous. My guess is Canva expect some to earn more, and some earn less, and after 6 months those that earns less will remove their portfolio.
On my side I had a smaller brand of standard color vectors who Almost doubled (85%), and my other brand dropped income by 400$ (compared to march, other months were all better than march). In the end I end up with around as much as I made before.
Why would Canva make such a bold statement of doubling our income if we fall short by... 100%, with no gain at all? Let's see now if they dive into their pocket and pay us the promised double earnings.
My actual earnings for March and April were almost identical, so when Canva double the earning figure I will be better off. I would be happy with double the downloads and double the earnings, but the download number was 5x higher than March. I've been with Canva since the very start, met Melanie Perkins at the 2013 Berlin Mexpo where the product was launched. At the time, it was a breath of fresh air - particularly as we were all starting to get worried about Shutterstock hitting 20 million images! It's sad to see the way things have developed. I haven't added any new content to Canva for some time, and now know that I won't. I'll wait out the six months and pull my port. I'd rather take the hit on monthly income than give my work away for pennies. Sadly, even Istock are giving me a much higher RPD and at least they provide a download report. Canva pulling the download number is very telling and that lack of transparency is worrying.

How do you see the number of sub downloads please?
This morning I could see them in right part of the subscription earnings box. Now they have disappeared O_o
Yes, even I saw it. Infuriating...

My earnings are almost the same as March, but the downloads have increased by over 500%. That's very worrying, even if they are prepared to double my earnings for 6 months. Frankly, they are only putting the earnings back to where they were before they screwed us over introduced the original subscription package.

Cheers, Mat.
I misunderstood that it was for last year, and thought it was just saying I'd achieved it for this year and didn't write it down. I will send an email.
Once again, thanks for both the promotion and your quick response.
UPDATE: Emailed and resolved within about 30 minutes, so thanks Adobe for the prompt customer support.

I recently had a notice about my 2019 code on my Adobe page, but it's disappeared. I gifted the 2018 code to a friend, but she only just redeemed it. Did it expire and have I lost a year somewhere?

I'm glad to see the 12 month sales stats back as default, although I notice they didn't reintroduce the 2 year stats.
When the default became 3 months, I really felt it was because they didn't want you to notice the drop in earnings too much. Maybe 12 months is an indicator of more stability.
There are some good new features, such as image and footage tabs on the same page. However, the layout is not comfortable, and it's all been rolled out without making sure all the important features are in place, such as the search by new option.
The map isn't working properly, and the option to see where specific image are sold at a glance has been lost - that's a shame.

Any update on this? Mat said we would hear within two weeks so do we assume that if we didn't hear within that time we didn't make the cut?
I will personally email anyone that did not make the cut to let them know directly as soon as I get the list.
Thanks for your patience!
Mat
OK, thanks!

Can confirm they do match and that they are not altered. Guess I did not need to redact that.
As far as using ongoing, various, or something like that I've never seen as an issue for self releases. Even iStock the company started the one release.for everyday is ok with using that as long as it is for a self release.
Their requirements tightened up quite recently, I believe, and they state that phrases such as 'ongoing' are not acceptable.

As you've redacted almost everything, it's hard to tell if there may be errors, but you certainly can't have a shoot date listed as 'Ongoing'.
As per Shutterstock's instructions:
Only Gregorian calendar dates can be used (i.e. 15 March 2015) Date ranges (e.g. 15-20 March 2017) are acceptable for the shoot date only Dates cannot be listed as various or in perpetuity or other similar phrases
Strange that they indicated the rejection was due to the format rather than the content.

I hope they bring back the option to follow. I had loads of followers and better sales until someone at Shutterstock decided we should all be anonymous, so personalising us again may have a positive affect.

You should see Photos Unlimited earnings on the following page: https://www.canva.com/account/sales
Even at the correct link, I show no subscription sales. My sample size should be big enough, although I'm down 75% in DLs from last August and even more in $$$.
Someone else here said they wouldn't have shown up yet at all.
I was told that we would be paid after the first quarter, so I wasn't expecting anything yet. We are being given contradictory information, which doesn't increase my confidence in Canva.

Hey everyone,
We now report Photos Unlimited revenue shortly after the end of each month. If you switch the date selector to August or a prior month, you should see your Photos Unlimited downloads and earnings. They are paid to you as part of our normal payment processes.
I only see 'Royalty Sales' - there is a 'Commission Sales' option which is zero - is this it? Do I take it that I didn't earn anything from Photos Unlimited for August?
