StockXpert.com / Re: First day of No Photos.com/JIU sales
« on: June 23, 2009, 08:07 »
For today 3 subscription sales 1 JI, 1 Photos.com and 1 StockXpert

123RF / Re: Sales at 123RF picking up
« on: June 15, 2009, 08:27 »
Very poor sales this month. I find 123RF and BigStock to be the most wildly inconsistent from month to month. SS is the most consistent.

303
With 535 files online, have 28 downloads so far this month.
I'm guessing there are a couple of new good sellers that are helping my portfolio overall.

Veer / Re: Veer Marketplace Opens for Submissions!
« on: June 10, 2009, 08:11 »
8 of 10 approved from my initial batch. Uploaded 20 more last night using the web uploader which works fine for me. Very curious to see how Veer does for us all. They have a great reputation in the advertising world and could be a top contender. Go Veer!

General Stock Discussion / Re: A different sort of buyer
« on: June 09, 2009, 11:28 »
Have you noticed how many banner ads IS has everywhere for weeks now? Maybe that's one of the reasons more people know about them.

306
Have seen a big change on SS in the last few weeks. Review time is only a few hours instead of a day or two.

307
Had also never been on SV and filled out Veer application several weeks ago. Early this morning successfully uploaded the initial 10 via the browser and the images are now pending review.

CanStockPhoto.com / Re: Big up turn all the sudden?
« on: June 08, 2009, 13:55 »
Wow that sounded good, so I decided I wanted 'in'.  I signed up with CanStock and uploaded 20 images to test the waters.  2 weeks later, not a single view on any image.  Absolute zero.

Ok 20 images isn't much, but they're all proven sellers on SS.  And you can multiply zero by any number of images/weeks/months/years you want, and the result is still zero. Payout at infinity.

Guess I'll just delete them and close the account.  Move along, folks. Nothing to see here.

I'm guessing you are a young person? And that's why you have no patience and want instant results? ;)

StockXpert.com / Re: Is StockXpert Picking Up?
« on: June 07, 2009, 06:04 »
Certainly has picked up for me. Already have a BME in the first week because of a $30 Jupiterimages pay-per-download. Also getting more StockXpert ppds.

CanStockPhoto.com / Re: My first FotoSearch Regular - $19.80
« on: June 01, 2009, 13:43 »
For me, things are steadily improving and May was my 3rd BME in a row, passing my goal of doubling my monthly income this year. I have found that the more diverse your portfolio, the better and I'm optimistic about the future because I think this is a great field to be in right now and would love to eventually make enough at this so I don't have to work a 9-5 job for 20 more years. Really, there is so much freedom in MS and you have complete control over your destiny. My personal opinion is that attitude has a HUGE impact on how well you do. If you preach doom and gloom, then that's what you will get when you look at the results of your efforts.

I have been in Microstock for about 15 months and have learned in that time to be patient with new sites. Based on the good advice of people in this forum, I will continue to upload to CanStockPhoto and hope for the best in six months to a year. It really is an easy site for uploading.

312
Began uploading to CanStockPhoto about a month ago and only have 1  view on approved photos. Is this one of those sites that takes 6 months or a year to start seeing results? :-\

From the website:

"About Us
Thanks for stopping by ClipartOf.com! ClipartOf.com is owned and managed by Jamie Voetsch and Kenny Adams under Image Envision LLC.
We started out in this industry knowing nothing. After years of working for another library, we fell in love with our jobs and branched out on our own. We now have an internet empire of over 200 websites, most of them revolving around photos or clipart.

We represent over 40 artists scattered around the globe and encourage them to "go for it" and be on their own. We strive to give them the opportunities to where they can make a living doing what they love and to be financially stable enough to quit their full time jobs. We allow them to pick their own pricing, build discounted collections, and create images as they please. You will get quality clipart images direct from our artists.

We never outsource to other countries for jobs, like many online businesses, and you will get fast, personalized customer service direct from Jamie herself, either by phone or email.

So relax, have fun, and enjoy browsing our amazing and humorous clipart library."

Sounds interesting. I will take a closer look at the site this weekend. I have a lot of bitmap illustrations and graphics.

The CEO rant post has been removed.

Hate is such a strong word to use since photography is a unique individual expression and implies that you are sickened by a part of yourself in some way?

I get bored with some of my old stuff but I'm always trying out new ideas and techniques so don't worry too much about what I've done in the past and always look forward to the next great photo experience. :)

316
I think if you understand stock photography and what sells best, you don't need to have the best camera in the world . . .  just a decent one. And the most expensive camera won't make you a better photographer.

317
My marketing and communications company had been using Getty for years when one day a freelance designer working in-house turned us onto IS as a source for inexpensive photography. I immediately thought it was a great idea and wanted to try uploading myself. A little over a year ago I upgraded my camera equipment and gave it a try. Love it and want to continue with this type of work for as long as possible.

Microstock Services / Re: Prostockmaster WOW!
« on: May 19, 2009, 06:48 »
Yep, same problem here. Cannot access the agencies and do get statistics but SS has no info for weeks.
Looks like it's broken  :-[

319
I've spent more money than I've made 14 months in. Had to buy all of the photography equipment and this year I will be replacing my 6-year old computer and upgrading my software. Have another full time job so it is fine to be spending all this money now.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: I've had enough.
« on: May 16, 2009, 05:59 »
I gave up trying to submit raster illustrations to IS as they seem to want only regular photos with not much manipulation. Maybe if you were accepted for vector illustrations they would be more likely to take the raster illustrations? Good to see that Scout will take some of these. I just resubmitted a couple to Scout that were rejected last year. We will see what happens. This is one of the reasons I won't go exclusive with IS. My seasonal graphics and raster illustrations do really well on SS, DT, FT, 123RF, BigStock and StockXpert.

I've seen things turn around during the second half of the month before. Too early to tell how the totals will end up. Better to see the glass as half full.  ;)

OK, I sent them an inquiry at the site.
Just seems weird. If it was fraud you would only need to download them once.  :-\ Why would anyone keep downloading the same files over and over?

Oh no! I'm experiencing THE EXACT SAME SITUATION.
Three of my popular images have been downloaded several times a month in the same order with no search terms used at various sizes. I certainly don't mind the extra income but we probably should find out what is going on? I've been afraid to ask. :-X
