Selling Stock Direct / Re: Digital downloads on Etsy« on: June 29, 2020, 07:03 »Anyone have experience selling digital downloads thru Etsy? When i looked a few years ago, this wasn't an option. If it sells, there is no listing fee, I believe. 304

Just a note to beware. I got a chargeback of $25 + $20 from Paypal for a sale through Photoshelter four months after the fact. PP has zero protection for digital products for the buyer. I've read you should mail them a receipt with tracking and use that as proof, but I don't know if that works, and you need their address.

That doesn't make it a "pyramid scheme". 311

Yeah, I'm a "mullennial", lol. Guess you didn't "look that up". BTW, a "pyramid scheme" requires a pyramid. Which this isn't, and doesn't have. 313

General Stock Discussion / Re: Press Release - Stock Coalition calls for Shutterstock shutdown« on: June 14, 2020, 17:15 »Some of your comments have now been addressed with some minor changes. Although to be fair, the call to boycott SS was a community action before the group officially endorsed it. So while we could make ourselves look better by saying it was our idea all along, it would not be factually accurate. Better-positioned or not, I don't think that's the way to act for the community. I don't know how they've "been addressed". I just looked again - https://stockcoalition.org/ - and it looks the same. Like something from the mid-90s. No information or anything. It doesn't look like a professional organization. Sorry if that's brutally honest, but someone may want to address it. 315
General Stock Discussion / Re: Press Release - Stock Coalition calls for Shutterstock shutdown« on: June 14, 2020, 11:00 »
The "stock coalition" would be better served by fleshing out their website, listing goals, members, etc. Because it comes across as "some guy made bought a domain and is pretending to speak for everyone". That it has "joined the call" comes off as somewhat meaningless.

And co-opting Black Lives Matter when people are literally fighting for their lives is so uncool.
They keep doing this despite being told how stupid it looks. 317

Why would any agency do that to one of their top producers without reason? Paranoia. http://www.seanlockephotography.com/2013/02/11/a-change-in-things/ 319
Shutterstock.com / Re: Shutterstock starting terminating accounts of people criticising them« on: May 31, 2020, 03:10 »This garbage is just like Getty closing Sean Locke's & Rob Sylvan's (and others) accounts and Fotolia closing a whole bunch of accounts. You try to keep a lid on things by making a public example of trouble-makers. Uh, no, I wasn't doing any such thing. Sorry. 320
Shutterstock.com / Re: Shutterstock just became iStock 2.0« on: May 27, 2020, 13:35 »Question. Since it's "percentage of price paid", say you have a 100 image sub for $100. If the buyer only downloads the one image, did he pay $1 for that image, or $100. Because if it's the latter, then there go immediate sales reports. That sounds like BS. Then they aren't following their rules. You are not getting a percentage of what was paid. 321

Just checking to see if anyone else had this happen. I had a payment from Pond5 today. However the amount I can withdraw is exactly $45 less than the amount sent.
