If there is a best match boost for P+, it must be minimal. In most searches the vast majority of images in the front are still exclusive. In fact I had hoped P+ would improve my search positions more than it has.
The promised best match boost for E+ never happened, and I'm not even sure that they made such a promise for P+ (?). Knowing what an iStock promise is worth, they'd be better not to make them. Once (or more) bitten, several times shy.
Certain search results in the default price slider order this weekend for me showed P+ file as the first image. If that isnt a boost due to the prices being the same as exclusives, i dont know what is.

But the best thing is to have the reputation of being the site that brings in the most money. Preferably double or triple to any competitor.
The best thing to who? Certainly not to the contributors, exclusive or independents. In fact, its clearly the reason why such hatred exist on this forum for istock since its a clear indication of corporate greed.

pretty calculating on her part not to mention contributors in her intro speech. It seems like an ominous sign for things to come for the contributors and she is smart not to make friends with contributors with warm and fuzzys like you guys say if her future actions clearly hurt contributors further. shes not going to get quoted saying this and such...

Every exclusive that depends on their microstock income was checkmated last September whether they view it that way or not.
good point.

STAGE 1... id put up a marketing blitz admitting the previous management was a greedy pig who steered us off course and im the right person to steer us back. Instant 25% off credit packages from previous buyers that is coming out of istocks pocket and not the contributors. Contributors get an extra 10% on their royalties for the next 90 days. STAGE 2... secretly hire hackers and hack SS and the other top 3 sites and cause mayhem

My very best selling images (which are P+) have actually accelerated in DL's/month for example. [/quote] This is another way that exclusives are getting shafted by P+ and that exclusivity is pointless for anyone thinking about becoming one now. The P+ is a boost in best match placement IMO. so many more independants than exclusives all adding their top sellers to P+ crowds out the best sellers of exclusives. No job growth in the US, no spending, no wonder buyers are exiting for the cheaper substitutes.

I wonder how come they have all used the same picture. It is as if the whole thing has been syndicated ready to go as a package. I wonder how that works - does anyone know ? Does the standards authority have a PR department which puts out the finding as a package ?
It might be due to a couple of big companies that control most of the published media in this world. Thats just my guess.

We are already just few steps away from a world where ugly fat women are supposed to be the beauty standard and everything else just has to be fake.... and if you disagree with ugly fat women that they are indeed beautiful, and dare to not find them attractive, you get labelled jerk. Brave new world. : ))
Only in America my friend
I tire of your pathetic anti american propaganda. You should realize that there are people living here that doesnt resemble your vision of the clueless overweight hillbilly red neck american. Your screen name just screams intolerant to me + 1 ignored

The thing that went away was the 10% bonus for exclusives. For independents, nothing changed beyond the royalty reductions that applied to all sales.
So the amount you got in EL last year was based on the cannister level plus a 10% bonus? So a diamond exclusive would get 50% of 100 EL then. thnx for that info.

I forgot what the percentages were but it seems like a pretty drastic cut from last year. I remember getting ELs with me getting over $100. This year none of my ELs go close to that amount. Anyone with any info much appreciated. Cant seem to find it on istock.

Im curious on how many views your new uploads are getting these days. Two vector illustrations that i uploaded two weeks ago have around 30 views each. These are in two different subject matter which in my experience is pretty popular subject matter. I have a pretty bad memory but i seem to remember image views would get into the hundreds after a week or so just last year even in the slow summer months. Im wondering if photos are experiencing the same decrease in views. lack of buyers, increased competition, best match, slider... too many variables to even try to stress over. just ranting

whatever it is, if it's the reason I'm suddenly having a few good days of sales at IS, I'm all for it!
agreed, it is nice to get some downloads for a change.
+1.... last two days have been very good to me especially today. In fact this week has been awesome for me since i got 6 ELS for $400. five from apparently one buyer =D

Cheryl, at a certain point you have to stop caring.
So you think there's no big vector announcement coming?
Sure there is. It'll be right after they launch logos

I am contributing to the pp Programm because the istock subscription program wasnt competitive with Shutterstock. And as all the independents reported good results from subscription, istock needed an offer for the customers that can only use subscriptions, apparently there are many companies that prefer this licensing model.
Because the subcription offer is on a different site, I am not worried that it will kill my pay as you go sales on istock.
You have to first decide if that's even a sales model you want to participate in, and a customer base that you want to sell to. Not that IS isn't offering one. IMO at least.
Bolded by me. I worry about buyers leaving istock for subscription based sites will only hurt this industry further. Buyer migration to the subscription based site will lead to more content providers grudgingly switching over which just devalues the work even further. The slope will get steeper.

I tell you whats happening in the industry. Why do you think us RM photographers within the Getty -RM, was more or less forced to sign away our material to RF and micro? or get out.
IS has always been a thorn in the side of Getty, was a strong site until Getty came along. Within a year from now, IS, will be incorporated in TS, thats whats happening.
Getty's buyers migrated over to istock over the years for cheaper prices. Gettys like "where do you think your going?" comes in through the backdoor and raises prices. Essentially trying to squeeze every last dollar and creates thinkstock for the betrayed buyers but the buyers end up going over to SS and others that dont stink of Getty doodoo...

i think apple aggressively pursues their IP. Im all for protecting your brand but it seems way overboard. I had the hardest time trying to get some generic vector smartphone products approved because they had the same shape as the rounded cornered iphones. I had to change it so much that it just looked like bad design.
