ohhh... so here also people.. the problem is its very hard here in my place to get model release and that is what most needed because if someone wants to seel pix then people are best choice as far as i came to know. lol i think i should quit thinking about microstock lol

canstock has a very high acceptance rate from my experience. Unfortunately they have one of the lowest sales rates
Thanks for the reply Qwerty...still i will join it if it is so.. i can see them in middle tier in the ranking below depositphoto and photodune... what about these 2 sites ? i have not heard about them yet

Are you sure it's the "categories", not the image quality? I don't want to be rude, but such a low acceptance rate seems really odd to me.
Thank you Wyt fr the reply ofcourse not. I know quality is must for Microstock sites.. I am talking about the sites which accept such pix comparably more in numbers. as Dt and other top sites don't accept landscapes that frequently while 123Rf has accepted 60% of my landscape insect photos while Dt did not. So you can say i am inquiring about the sites which have more scope for these pix or better to say my landscape, insects, animal, wildlife photographs have more scope....

Thank you all for the reply to my doubts. But as its DT's thread so I will be really helped if any one can tell what topics/subjects are still hot for DT and have most probable "chance" of approval ?

Recent post by Admin on their forums when asked what kind of images they are looking for. This was in reply to a complaint about the often sent rejection reason, "we are saturated with that subject matter." I agree with the list but this is hard to impress on new people trying to enter the "biz". From admin -
"I'll give you list of saturated subject matter instead, since this is a finite list compared to the infinite list of things you could photograph (smiley was theirs, not mine - cuppacoffee)
This is somewhat subjective, but relevant list of themes that we are very picky about in our reviews (random order):
- FLOWERS, BLOSSOMS, FOLIAGE, PLANT CLOSEUPS, INSECTS - more so if the textual info is weak or generic, even more so if the image is clearly a snapshot, without detectable thought and decision process behind it. Technical shortcomings follow.
- NATURE: SKIES & CLOUDS & SUNSETS, MOUNTAINS, FIELDS & MEADOWS, WATER BODIES, WATERFALLS - more so if the textual info is weak or generic, even more so if the image is clearly a snapshot, without detectable thought and decision process behind it. Technical shortcomings follow.
- ARCHITECTURE: RELIGIOUS BUILDINGS, UNINSPIRING STREET VIEWS, GARDENS, FENCES, STATUES - more so if the textual info is weak or generic, even more so if the image is clearly a snapshot, without detectable thought and decision process behind it. Technical shortcomings follow.
- PETS, KIDS, BABIES, TRAVEL SNAPSHOTS - especially poorly lit, hit & run type of shots, noisy shots due to poor sensor performance and inadequate lighting due to the shot "felt interesting". Regarding travel photos, this is an entire theme for a blog, but keep in mind that without actually being THERE with you, it is very hard to get any perspective and sense of depth or scale of things. Also ANY image will look bad if it is taken midday and uploaded directly from camera.
This list might be updated, since these are the first things that spring to mind right now. There is no definite rule that we will not approve an additional flower or kitten, it is all about concept, execution and general appeal - the same things that matter when buyers browse your portfolios or search results."
OH ! Thats a bad news for newbie like me who shoot these all only. I am a new contributor to microstock sites... I have been posting to DT,123RF & FT. For me its difficult to get model release so i preffer landscape, rural scenes (except people) as i am in villege and near to forrest so i get good shots of insects, birds (i love shooting insects).. but DT rejected almost all of the photographs... just accepted 3 out of 20 pix...lol and those were really good i think coz 123RF accepted 10 (6 are pending) out of same set of 20 photographs. anways its really helpful post suggesting what not to/avoid as much as possible. but in SS i can see most searched topics includes- RECENT SEARCHES [clear] butterfly (46592) butterfly (46541) label (45341) label (243285) spa (228036) spa (229076) dragonfly (7260) mountain (429907) mountain (429650) frame (241954) so i guess they still give importance to landscapes and insect/bugs. Can anyone give me the list of subjects what (according to you/someone) SS still welcomes or subjects which are frequently rejected by them...? Actually I am going to submit 10 pix for approval in SS, so i am need of help guys...! Thanking you in advance !

To all our beloved contributors, remember to Fave your images on 123RF.com.
Please follow steps as below: 1) Login to 123RF 2) Go to "Sell Images" under the category of "For Photographers" at the footer. 3) Click "Faved". 4) Select 5% of your total images. 5) Click "Add to Favorite" for those images that you like to Fave.
I reckon you'll be asking -- why is faving important? The simplest answer to this is SEARCH PRIORITY. Your Faved images will display on the first few pages whenever clients conduct a search. But this doesn't mean you should be spamming your keywords, yes!?
Regards, Anglee
Thanks Anglee... I am new to 123Rf and very positive here... and such tips would definitely make difference.... but can you tell me why to make only 5% of photos should be faved ? Is there any limitations for favouring own pix or there is some concept behind this ? :-)

Kindly email your UID and rejected images code to [email protected] so that our reviewers can re-evaluate them.
I tried this option twice and did not even get a response. Is there any other procedure that I need to follow, like posting here first?
This is the worst thing i felt for 123RF, I am new in microstock sites and I had few doubts about submission and ID profs etc . I sent 4-5 mails to their customer care but they did not care to reply me even once. LoL. At the same time ST,FT and even IS replied me personally, specially ST replied my 5 mails and I am really satisfied for their works. But yeah my 13 pix out of 15 were selected in 123RF so for me reviewer are better than customer care of them. lol But are the photographs viewed and sold in 123RF...!!! I really doubt sometime. Can anyone share me his experience about selling photos there ?

Hello friends.. I joined 123RF 1 week ago. I submitted my driving licence as ID proof and 15 photographs (as minimum photographs required asked for 10 so i submitted 15 of my best pix) but as there was address problem in ID they asked me submit another, as the mail did not come to my hotmail acc and was only in 123RF sitemail so I could see it 2 days after its delivery. They said "send another ID proff with clear address so that we may review once again your submitted photographs" Meanwhile (before sending my ID 2nd time) 13 out of my 15 submissions had been accepted. Then I again sent My Passport as ID with address. But the problem is my portfolio does not show any of my accepted photos while profile/account is there. I have sent emails to them regarding mu query but I think the customer feed back is poorest for 123RF. They did not respond any of my email at the same time SS,FT and IS have been replying me with my queries cleared each time. SS replied 6 of my emails with in same day while fotolia emailed me personally 3 times with their answer clearing my problems. Now please suggest what can be the problem with my portfolio in 123RF ? Why my portfolio is empty as it has been almost 5 days with my photos accepted. Need your valuable suggestions friends. Thanking you.

Ofcourse it is not a mathematic science but surely a common sense. I know some of microstock photographer who say that acceptance/rejection by any MS site is based on their business requirements.... though their requirements may change in long run...

hello friends.. I am new in microstock sites and i always keep on listening people that there few images are accepted in x1 and the same set of images were rejected in site x2. Probbaly different sites are interested in different subjects of photos. so why do't we make a list of subjects accepted and rejected by different famous microstock sites. For example- (suppose-)
SS- accepts- landscapes,people, Rejects- pets,animal,skyscapes
DT- Accepts- Rejects-
and so on. Let it be just personal experience of the photographers and it may differ according to quality of images. But still I think we should give it a try which will definitely help newbies and others as well.
Thanking you all in Advance !
