I just got a $0.10 sale and a $0.14 sale. I shut down my portfolio.
I'm due to get a payout at the end of May. It hasn't gone through yet, so I have to put my portfolio back up until it goes through. It should be very soon, within the next couple of days.
If you reached the payout minimum by May 31st they should pay you don't have to have an active portfolio. Bear in mind payments are usually made around the 7th day. Unless they get the bright idea to change that too

When people switch off their ports SS seems also to completely delete assets from their portfolio manager. I switched off my video port and noticed through the day (yesterday) items being deleted from my video portfolio...until zero left in my video portfolio
No they are still on the servers if you turn on sales they will come back over 72 hours

Of course the hard reset on royalty percentages doesn't occur until Jan 1st 2021 so most likely you will be on your exisiting level from June 1st

Knowing the way shutterstock implemented software changes in the past its probably not working and stan the man is busy frantically hitting the reset button

Bigstock already operates a form of royalty reset based on a rolling 12 months.
To be honest its already messed up and sales have pretty much dried up except for the odd 27 cent sale.
I quit uploading there a few months back there was just no point anymore.

A noble and appreciated marketing action, but still a marketing action
Never look a gift horse in the mouth
Considering that shuttersucks never gave us a raise and neither did isuck/getty any increase is welcome
I stand corrected Photobomb advised that shutterstock did give raises up until 2008 ...12 years ago

Just be careful about disabling your images and videos I did that three days ago and as a test tried to re-enable my portfolio yesterday and today and I'm just getting
"You have changed your settings too many times today. Please try again later"
Seems like once you disable they aren't letting you back in

These groupies sure are something else. What on earth makes them think they will get more sales if someone with a 10k food, concept or fashion portfolio leaves? Do they fill all the gaps with their subject matter, concepts, quality?
They lack self respect and do not value their own work, that we already get but at least they can show some respect for those who work their butt off to survive in this market.
Shame on you!
That guy starting the thread has 4 pages of mediocre images after "years of uploading". Who cares about him anyway. Don't take him too seriously. Besides, as political parties do, he could be sent by SS to send their voice, I'm surprised they haven't done that earlier.
Im afraid I couldn't help responding to him. Asshat.
Of course he doesn't mind the change, he'll be probably making $15 instead of $20 a month or something. Especially funny the part about the time and energy he put in his port LOL
Of course he doesn't he's a lawyer and a gambler he doesn't need stock

Hello,
If you have any thoughts on words we can use or ways we can share news like this with compassion and empathy, I'd welcome that input. It's never easy to receive a no and if we can do it in a way that encourages people to keep going, that would be my preference.
Thanks again for calling this out and letting us know how you feel and how we can do better.
James.
Here's an idea James how about you pay decent rates for the "high quality" work on elements instead of the pennies and zero amounts you guys current pay out? Don't come here with woke keywords when envato can't pay for a contributors efforts

Are you sure this actually disables your account? The png seems to imply that you're just not letting people use your images for anything defamatory, deceptive, pornographic, etc...
It removes your images and videos from sale I've done it and they are rapidly disappearing.

Shutterstock makes up around 40% of my stock income, but I will be disabling my account June 1st. If we let them do this to us, we literally have no self-respect.
They make up 47% of my income but I still disabled sales on images and deleted videos I'm sick of this vile industry that treats us like sh-t and comes up with socalled exciting news on a regular basis to cover up their poor management skills and idiocy

Don't worry. They will backtrack on this. They already know our reaction and in a few days they will say that in consideration to contributoros they will honor the percentage finished at the years end to roll over to january. All very studied.
They are aware that as it stands now many people will stop submitting content and competition will benefit great from this. Calculations have been made a long time ago. Getty deja vu repeated again. Welcome to the matrix.
It is possible that something like this can happen. Its actually very old trick.
if you want to raise tax for 5%, you go into public with information that you are going to raise tax for 8%, then all the people go on rage frenzy, after 2-3 weeks of this, and some kind of negotiations, they come to conclusion that 5% increase is a win-win situation. Remember that 5% increase was initial idea.
Just like Alamy did with their 20% royalty cut in 2019 which they then limited to none-exclusive images because they "listened to their contributors "

If i get 0,36 dollars per image now. How many percent does that correspond to? How much does a subscription download cost to the customer? Need the basic strait before I can judge this!
You can't do a comparison because shitterstock say you will get a percentage of the sales price and as they can now set the sales price at any level they like you could get less than 1 cent

DP sales have increased slightly in May but they're still only making 30 cent downloads so $9 instead of the usual $3

Only a complete moron would upload to a site like that

Upload freeze for one month now. I emailed them several times, they answered in a nonsensical way.
You do realize that there is a Lockdown in the UK? Its going to limit responses and what was the "nonsenical" response?

I finally found the issue. What is needed is that you click the stars - not the keywords. I really think it is confusing because you can click the keyword, it just is not saving until you click the star.
I agree that method is a pain I wish they would allow you to just click the keyword box

Yes ~ the total has gone up but the individual sales don't but I've seen this before it usually catches up after a day or two
