Me too about 50% no IPTC no discerable pattern

According to Pareto 80% of the images should be produced by 20% of the contributors whether these are the same 20% who get 80% of the income we can only speculate........
Pauws99, you right!
It's easy to load this table in MS EXcell and calculate the amount of images those 12200 contributors - 64,086,726.
It is a 80% of 79,748,055 images of SS.
Its Pareto who was the clever guy :-)

Maybe you should be thinking about how you could improve your performance rather than criticising others?

« on: March 25, 2016, 06:47 »
They put me on the naughty step and asked me to submit some pics after a month. The trouble is I can see no logical pattern in what they choose to reject often the "border line" pics get rejected and stuff that is accepted everywhere else gets dumped.

Considering my portfolio is small here sales do OK so I might get round to reapplying sometime ...now I have some time freed by veer!!

They used to be quite forgiving on photos I have found them very inconsistent lately. I don'tr earn enough there to worry about complaining/resubmitting

"Dreamstime was at least so kind to write that they don't want any more hand bags."
Clearly Inspection is not managed by a woman ;-). I just try and forget rejections its a waste of energy I agree fotolia is about the least helpful as the rejections are just a list

Sales go up sales go down its called "luck" or "statistical variation" I think maybe you folks should take a longer view than just looking at a couple of days stats

So, is anybody else experiencing much higher number of sales than usual for march? I'm asking because I have way way more sales than my average, and I was thinking, maybe it's because Veer customers migrated to iStock?
I suspect you are just having a good month Congratulations....my sales are a little higher  but not much to get excited about

I'm struggling to think of other businesses  that do this..music I guess. But for instance you don't see supermarkets giving away free food in the hope you will buy something more expensive! To me if you give away images it gives an impression you don't value your work so why would anyone else?

3815
The interesting thing here is that the 12 million of SS's 70 million images are owned by just the top 100 photographers or studios. I cant be bothered to go through more of the list, but I would bet the top 500 own the majority of the library and almost all of the saleable images, much of the rest being garbage from ye olden days from people who no longer upload.
Or a lot of those people not in the top 100 are on the way up and a lot of the "top" photographers work is outdated or repetitive trash.....anyone fancy a joint?

The one site I really detest for their arrogant rejection reasons and general crappiness

« on: March 18, 2016, 01:51 »
Very good I notice people don't factor is these high value sales when discussing SS s payment rates.

3819
I were a buyer I'd want to know that the site is doing its best to bring me the files that met my needs to me as efficiently as possible not rigging the market place....probably rather naive I know  :-\. So seems a pretty stupid move even if they are competent enough to manipulate the Search Engine effectively which I doubt

3820
Think I read somewhere they don't allow ANY cars?

Is there a manual of how to get rid of the grey? I also have this grey on my images.

Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

Theres lots of alternative ways ...probably worth while getting a decent book about your chosen software tool and has been said for future shoots work on your lighting

CanStockPhoto.com / Re: Canstockphoto - is it worth it?
« on: March 12, 2016, 06:46 »
Certainly for Canstock the time spent is negligible and doesn't require any thinking so I carry on.....the likes of Bigstock I will do when I have time but would prioritise other sites.

3823
I'd like to supplement my micro earnings.  How do you get started answering surveys?  Does it really pay worth the time?

Easy to google it...no I don't think its worth it and it gets VERY boring

Hello,
I subscribed to CanStock and BigStock just few months ago, in September 2015 (i'm 'new' to micro)

-CanStock:351 pictures online and no sales at all.
-BigStock: 346 pictures online and 40+ sales.

So in my short experience I can say that BigStock its pretty better...but my portfolio is not big as other so things can change..
just m2cents
The plus against that is that Canstock is about the easiest site out there to upload on so at worst you are not wasting a lot of time.
