Pond5 / Re: Dataset earnings - opt out
« on: April 12, 2023, 14:38 »
I just noticed this new dataset line on my P5 earnings page. See attached.
I highly encourge you guys to reject these peanuts and opt-out of AI training.
Unckeck the dataset box at the bottom of this page:

https://www.pond5.com/my-preferences

Thankyou, and done.

I also only recently learned of opting out of 'Data Deals' on Shutterstock under Licensing  Options in Account Settings.

Yes. I have seen a decline of about 15k

Looks like a drop of about 25 percent going by your figures above, consistent with Annie's reported declines.

I did stock full time for 12 years and yes I would do it again, oh I still shoot but I am now working in business and video production for companies. On average over the 12 years I earned 60k a year.

jjneff have you seen much of a earnings decline since leaving stock full-time?

Subberstock is deep in Rotenbergese Turd Territory so far this month April 2023. Leading the way is Pond5 followed by Adobe Stock - which incidentally pulled a rabbit out of a hat with a pretty good video sale of $42.00 during the week.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Artlist
« on: April 04, 2023, 06:21 »
I think Artlist and Artgrid are the same organisation with separate sites for different contents.

Below is a copy-and-paste of a post I made in January. If you want to see what this guy claims about selling stock footage on Artgrid, cue to the 3.00 minute mark on the Youtube video.

_______________

Was just watching the youtube video linked below where for his total earnings in 2022 made $5114.90.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55OrbEIfXBM

But what  piqued my curiosity was not his total earnings but the breakdown on different agencies:

- Pond5: $72.54
- Adobe Stock: $97.30
- Livestock: $403.11 (First I've heard of this agency)
- Artgrid: $4541.95

Has me thinking if Artgrid might be a place worth applying for and opening a new contributor account.

Anyone have experience with Artgrid? Do they only provide earnings statements and payout once a year? Or can you see what you're selling and earning throughout the year?

« on: April 02, 2023, 08:13 »
The agency is offering to accept your file based on a modification, not asking whether you agree or not. Make the change as instructed then resubmit or don't submit the video. The video as is might be a breach of their rules which could have potential legal repercussions.

General Stock Discussion / Re: This month's sales
« on: March 31, 2023, 22:14 »
March 2023 was a very slow start for mine. Still, I ended up +18% over January though down -21% from February. As at end March 2023, my total earnings are 205% over the same three-month period for 2022 - due to a lot more uploading of video in the past 16 months. Two charts attached...

Review times have slowed elsewhere too: iStock, Pond5 and to a lesser extent Shutter.

iStockPhoto.com / February 2023 Earnings Statement
« on: March 20, 2023, 13:22 »
A BME in February 2023 with an RPD of $2.46 for stills and video combined. Just as well given a very slow month everywhere else in March so far for mine.

Zero sales so far this year.  I dont think I've ever gone 3 months with no sales on Pond5

Anyone else?  Anything I should do?

How many videos, and still images if you have them, in your port?
  293 Videos.  I don't do photos

You likely need to grow your port with more video uploads and maybe diversify with clips in categories of higher demand.

Two charts...

Is your port primarily video? Only curious because for stills I am seeing Adobe #1 iStock #2 and SS a close #3.

Yes, the results for agencies would probably be in reverse if just still images

Very impressive results indeed. Just goes to show there's still plenty of money to be made in this provided got the right content and enough of it.

Crossed $25k few days back

What size is your port? Looks like you have a solid video port there.

Nice, how long since starting?

Pond5 / Re: How long until Pond5 is paying Shutterstock prices?
« on: February 04, 2023, 16:16 »
I just went to upload some files and there was a popup with New Contributor Agreement and a date that looked like February. I uploaded the files, now the notification is gone. Searching for new contributor agreement, I find nothing. Doing the chat bot, it says there are no plans to change anything. Did anyone read that before it disappeared?

I had a quick look at it (in particular commissions for video) and nothing there appeared different (ie: Non-exclusive 40% and exclusive 60%). Don't know about other content as I don't upload anything but video.

Is that the older chap who also has a music label and had around 550575 posts on the old Shutterstock forum?

Was wondering his whereabouts too.
