Nobody seemed to like my theory - but I'm saying, these were never reviewed. SS is having this stuff done internally, or commissioning someone, and loading it directly. No one is spending time uploading 10s of thousands of things like this, and SS wouldn't pay reviewers to look at it. Maybe they just want to pad their numbers and reach some new milestone of collection size. Or, maybe they want to show some subset of customers what a vast collection of icons and similar stuff they have.
Of course, I could be wrong. One way to prove me wrong would be to find the same material on another microstock.
I can't buy this theory - they could do what Istock do and accept nearly everything cheapest way to boost numbers.

Anyone paying attention these last few days sees the signs. Adobe is committed to changing the game in microstock. AdobeStock/Fotolia will be the #1 seller of stock within a year, two at the most.
Possibly - particularly if ss continue to sit on their hands as seem to be currently although they don't do editorial yet

I've set them at 100 on the basis that I suspect the cost of the image will be a low percentage of their budget. I so rarely get any I haven't bothered to update my old pics. I've had the odd EL but none for 100.

Yesterday's Daily Show with Trevor Noah was very funny and very to the point in addressing this huge american hypocrisy:
Enjoy this clip, in case you didn't see the whole show:

At last something to agree on.....note to self do not get distracted while keywording

I like to see my bullets as those of the truth puncturing the balloons of errors of those who are incapable of checking their facts on google before filling up discussion threads with false assertions.

Think its partly numbers and partly cos the more random shootings seem more scary - sad really. In the UK there does seem something of a "trend" for people to wipe out their close family.

Yes there's a lot in that. In music its now live music thats the money spinner with many bands reforming to do whole album tours and also the promotion of high cost vinyl and collector packages for us oldies. The cost and ease of production has also plummeted.
Whether the solutions have parallels in the photo industry I don't know.

What I can't understand is why some people stay in the business if it is so bad for them.

Until recently weekly rating hovered 4-5000. Last few weeks down to 6500. Oh dear.......
As long as my weekly rank is higher than my all time rank I'm happy as it seems like progress. But its sales that really matter

Oh dear there is nothing metaphorical about what you said. It is totally irrelevant whether I am 18 or 80.
In the UK there is a huge amount of concern about knife crime but I guess you haven't noticed it in your bubble (metaphor)
yes, yes, now move on.
I guess you don't need to look up condescending on google.

Now had this lunatic walked around with a giant Bowie-knife slashing people we wouldn't have heard two words about it. The gun is the issue here, not 10 corpses, not their families but the gun. Sad!
Do you really believe that? You seem to have very selective vision of what is reported on the news......and when was the last time someone managed to kill TEN people with a knife in a single incident.

Where are you from? I think Fotolia suits us Europeans more - less shiny happy people content and more euro specific

This business must be the biggest crackpot business in the world as far as managements and owners. They simply never learn from other agencies mistakes. The truth is probably very simple, they are slowly losing it. Remember IS some years back. This is how the decline started, one cockup after another, nobody cared, thought they were invincible. Then the hammer fell.
One would have thought they had some sort of an answer some response to the Adobe/FT move but they don't. Suits are just suits not thinkers and strategists.
I fear you may be right. I used to think SS had it easy cos they were the only really well managed Mstock outfit - I think abode may be hunting them down......but too early to tell.

"This is not just an American thing but considering the US population is ten times bigger there are ten times more guns."
Factually incorrect of course......in 2007 according to the small arms survey there were 88 guns PER Hundred people in US vs 6.6 in the UK. So I reckon thats about 60-70 times as many guns.
You are of course entitled to your opinion but it would be more credible if there were some objective evidence to support it.
