This blue tent is a kind of phallic symbol, maybe they find this offensive?
I had to google that, it blows my mind just how inventive people can be. That is a worldwide known Red Bull event tent.

Isn't there a naked person in front of photo? The reasons they come up with. Bigstock just rejected a sunrise for being too soft. No other agency complaint about that image. I had an editorial photo rejected where people are sitting and relaxing in a public square of a city. Maybe they need to be actively doing something for being accepted as editorial?
No one is naked there, that guy has a light colored T-shirt. There were other images in the batch with people competing on a race, actively doing something, also too offensive. Probably, they just push a button, no matter which one.

Not really liking it. A lot bigger for no reason. If I have an email with several sales in it, I have to do a lot more scrolling for no benefit.
I don't think this is the final form, too much white space. There is some other strange thing too: right under the image there is a link "Manage my email preferences". If you click on it, your are asked to sign in to your Adobe account but that is different from my FT account. I think it is best not to do anything with this until they notify us.

It is working but it's not selling, at least not for me. August and July were acceptable earnings wise but this first week of September is terrible. I sold more on BS than on SS, never happened before.

All content seems to be online for the customers if the use the search engine at Shutterstock.
No, not at all. Only the most popular files will show. Check the search count, there are hundreds of thousands of images missing.
Only the ones considered by SS the most popular, which criteria is also unknown. They are not the most sold images, not in my case.

Earnings reporting is totally out of order. Yesterday and the day before I had downloads shown only in daily earnings but not on map nor in earnings summary. I followed the map until these images were pushed away by other downloads but they never showed up on the map. This was the lucky version of this bug. Today I have downloads on the map but they don' t show in earnings summary.
If you don't check very often your earnings in the time-frame those cca. 10 images are shown on the map, you will never find out about those that are not accounted. What a mess!

It's a screw-up but it's not really a clawback.
Clawback generally refers to cases where a sale was made and credited but then the agency removed the credited sale because:
1) The buyer used a fraudulent account or credit card and the agency took the money back after the fact. 2) The buyer changed their mind after the purchase and asked for a refund.
In those cases, our content was delivered to a customer and then our earnings were taken back. This case is different.
I have never had SS actually do a clawback. Other agencies do it a lot (e.g., IS, DT)
Just sayin.
As far as I know there are no refunds/ money back for downloads at SS, only for active, unused plans: http://www.shutterstock.com/support/article/Does-Shutterstock-offer-refunds?l=en_US&c=CustomerKB%3ARefunds&fs=Search&pn=1

I don't understand you guys; with everything being buggy on SS, did you really expect that sales are reported correctly? From all agencies I upload to, SS is the only one that doesn't provide stats of our sales in a clear format: what was sold, how many times, size, price, how much taxes for each....? The stat they provide is mere window dressing. Technology failure will always be a good excuse.
With all this, I never saw a thread with people demanding a detailed stat. I tried it once but nobody backed me up, so that is what we deserve. They pay and take back what they want and we are afraid not to lose our pennies if we speak up.

Hi Mirco,
I remember you talking a while back about Alamy starting an RF editorial section and Alamy in fact announced it was going to happen later this year, here on MSG.
Well, they have just announced changes and an editorial classification. Do you take this as it's now possible to send RF to Alamy as editorial without MR or PR.
I can't wait to see that happen but for now: Were working on a major change to the way in which we deal with restrictions. We hope this will be live during August. http://www.alamy.com/blog/simplifying-restrictions-millions-options-four They are simplifying restrictions, though it seams like another complication.

Hi!
My new or recent images don't sell anymore. From 1. aug. my Image gallery views dropped to zero.
How do you go?
Thank you!
Many of my new images sell once, right after upload, then they are buried. I don't think sales have much to do with portfolio view. Change your avatar image and write something scandalous in the forum. You'll have many views instantly. I don't think portfolio views come from buyers.

Something again at FT - file uploaded recently and accepted was moved to free section! I never checked "yes" for this! again to waste time to check files which are already online. This file i deleted, hope they will delete it from their giveaway. Never ever something given for free generated any money. It attracts only people which want to have something for free. They never become buers, but bring their followers for the same. Disgusting to receive a letter about this with "congratulations". Liars. ps: all last files have "no" changed to "yes" for free section. It is not editable. Only to delete.
You don't have to check "yes", the default is set to yes, it was always so. The very first thing I do when I upload is to select all files and check "NO". For a short time the checked "no" remains unchanged but later it resets to "yes".

Thanks for the answer. I do have over 1000 files, so probably this doesn't apply.
Are you sure you are looking at the right page? Scroll down the page, at page numbering check "all", then search .

I received an answer too, they are just protecting us. We apologize for the confusion.
This was not a breach to the Bigstock database.
There have been high profile breaches that have been made public recently and we occasionally scan this data programmatically in an effort to protect our users. As a precaution, we have reset passwords on accounts that may or may not have been compromised.
We can confirm that data in your account does not appear to have been changed.
We see that you were able to change your password and login.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Kindest regards,

I'm trying to upload some files with web uploader but nothing happens when dragging the files in the box. Anyone else has problems with uploading?

They are quick to say it's not Bigstock related - Who did it originate from then if it wasn't big stock? How many email an passwords are involved? Hundreds? Thousands?
Bigstock is now part of Shutterstock - is it SS's fault? Is my SS account in danger too?
I don't trust these emails so I went to the site (did not click any link on any email) and changed my password that way.
It's true, it is not BS related. I myself sent them an email on an irritated tone and now I regret it. I left a link above about how these gangsters sell stolen accounts for 50 roubles. Btw, how could you change your password without clicking on the link in the email? Once they send out the email they also block your account so you can't sign in with the old password any more?

I just received three emails from Bigstock: - the first email prompts me to resetting my password and announces the second one - the second email provides a link to reset my password - the third email knows nothing about the first two and announces me that my password was changed and I should contact support if I didn't request the change. After reading the first email, I was wondering if it was authentic but when I went to sign in with the old password, I couldn't so I was forced to changed it. I changed my password at bigstock, cause someone changed the password from my girlfriend at bigstock. She resetted the password and now it works. But someone looked in her account, has now her adress and paypal-mail. Not good. She asked bigstock why this could happen and wait for a respond.
This is not a Bigstock problem, unfortunately it is much bigger than that. In this case you should change all passwords on the double, gmail, PayPal.......... Here is an interesting article about this year's compromised emails. You can check if yours was compromised here and/or here.

I can now see three digit amounts in the daily sales information. So I guess they can combine a new look with accurate accounting (that was a pretty lame excuse)
It's still a day in arrears
This time I'm glad that I was wrong with my assumption. Contributor level is back too. Everything will be all right in time. There are no changes in the system, just the layout is changed and small glitches can happen everywhere. They asked for feedback, so it's nice that they are listening. I have no reason to complain (except sales).

Apparently the new view doesn't show the current day's sales at all. Yesterday, I could look at the old list and see the sales getting added but nothing showed up in the new view (no sales for that day). Today, I see yesterday's sales, but nothing for today (and there are some as I can see via the old page.
I understand that this looks prettier, but it's got to improve on the accuracy front (showing actual not rounded amounts) showing today's sales, not just showing them a day in arrears.
Yes, it's not real time reporting, I can also see sales for today on the old site but nothing on the new one. There are some delays in indexing too; I had a batch approved on the 25th, before or during the changes and those images don't show up in my port or in search. I contacted support and I got an answer in less than an hour, saying that it could take a week till new images are batched. " (showing actual not rounded amounts)...." I don't think we will see not rounded amounts ever again, this is the price we pay for the new look.

did anyone realize that they reduce the earning from 0.324 to 0.32
I consider this a pay cut!!!
They did not reduce earnings but they applied a work around with similar effect. What you see is decimal round off, they always did that but earnings were shown in three decimal digits on old site and now they round off to two decimals. ex.: level two subscription was 0.252, now it is 0.25 Then they apply 10% taxes (in my case) which they also round off, so 10% of 0.25 is not 0.025 but 0.03 (which is ~ 12%). So instead of 0.252 I get 0.22. Higher values are round off too ( 1.029 → 1.03) but they don't happen so often.
