123RF / Re: massive rejections (IN or leaving...)
« on: June 18, 2010, 03:24 »
uploaded approx. 800pics - acceptance rate 89% which is higher than on most of the other sites. worst rate (by far) for me is on fotolia (72% only with more or less the same pics). sales quite low on 123rf but at least i usually got payouts every 3 month...  :-\

20 last month with port of approx. 700pics
very often 18 and 19
usually over 10 on weekdays and between 3 and 9 on saturdays and sundays

i didn't have keyword rejections at IS for a long, long time. but after their server was down i got two within two days.

first one  - keywords do not appear to be fully relevant were: heart shape, chinese ethnicity

second one  - keywords do not appear to be fully relevant were: isolated (cut out), smiling, success

hmmmm  ???  ???  ???
anyone else facing similar experiences after server went down?

cheers

123RF / Re: New 123RF site design
« on: March 26, 2010, 09:20 »
Apart from the furiating download stats they seem to like rejecting a lot nowadays. From the 45 images I uploaded the last weeks, 38 were rejected for lighting issues. 80% of those had no problems at Istock.. The upside is that I sell  more than I used to. I guess I'll use my old images for that, as I will stop uploading for a while I guess.

no problems with rejections so far (still 90%+ accepted). but sales totally down. now it's below 20% of the previous month here... :-(((

after my whining yesterday i got 8 dls within the next few hours. looks like sometimes it helps to complain ;-)))
so, let's try again: still it's my wme since last april :-(

i quite like the new look. the only thing i don't like is that my sales dropped dramatically since they changed their design.

i am not a very big player but still more than 600 pics online. so far it looks like this gonna be my worst month by far since april 2009. if it goes on like this then i will make only about 20% of the february income... (while on SS, IS and DM it most likely gonna be BME this month)

anyone else with similar experiance? did they change their search engine, too?

DepositPhotos / Re: Who has had sales at DepositPhotos?
« on: March 14, 2010, 00:43 »
i just did the following as a test:

search keyword: "woman"
search result: "117453 files"
sort: downloads

for example the 8th picture has 7 views, the 20st picture has 4 views, etc.
this means that even the top sellers with this keyword didn't sell a lot...

DepositPhotos / Re: All good things come to an end ! :(
« on: March 08, 2010, 23:37 »
...now, if you click on "promotion" everything is still there. but somewhere between the lines it says "We are sorry, but you are not able to participate in Promotional Program at this time. "

so, this sounds even more fishy to me. they are still advertising with something new subscribers can't get anymore!

the only honest way would be to take this promotion off the site. the submitters who are in that program know already they are participating. so, why would anyone else want to know about this promotion now?

....hmmm - i just registered yesterday assuming the promotion was still on. and i just re-checked on depositphotos' website (http://submit.depositphotos.com/promo.php). it doesn't say anyting about what you guys got in their email. sounds quite fishy to me if i can't be in that promotion programm anymore...  :-[

« on: January 01, 2010, 06:43 »
i just joined cc these days and upload 100+ of my pictures. then i started to submit them but stopped after 6 already. this is really a pain in this ass - sorry to name it like this, but it really is  :(

1. of all: this scrolling up and down is making me sick
2. the scrolling area shows maximum 2 pics. this is by far not enough space to navigate quickly!
3. select all and thick "extended licensing" - YES. but still not all the pics are on YES. i redo it - then other pics are back on NO?!?!?
4. it takes a long time until all the thumbs are there. and still some will not show...
5.....

anyway, i decided to take it veeeery easy on cc. i might submit one or the other pic if i really don't have anything else to do which won't happen often...

hope cc will change something an i'll give it another try...

cheers
mac

...just logged in to my account again. 6 pictures i submitted are approved. the other 115 pictures i just let there (without completed keywords and titels and of course no model releases attached, yet) GOT ALL REJECTED allthoug i didn't submit them!

so, how can pictures be rejected if i did not even send them for evalutation??? when i logged off last time they were all in the submit section (no. 3) and i didn't mark and submitted them...

so, guess i uploaded 115 pics for nothing - even more PAIN IN THE ASS.

i am taking my 6 approved pics off and close my cc acount now

bye bye cc and good luck  :-X

Veer / Re: Veer Lapse in Security
« on: December 27, 2009, 00:36 »
All of Veer.com and the Veer Marketplace contributor upload system is back online.

We pulled the entire site down for a few hours today so our developers could correct a bug that caused some users to experience issues with account sign-in. This has now been fixed. We take these issues very seriously.

Thanks for your patience.

 - Brian

...you seem to have a serious problem there, brian. i just wanted to become a contributor and created an account on veer:

1. i filled out the registration (username: "macky_ch")
2. i uploaded 1 picture in the menu "marketplace"
3. i didn't know where to upload a model release, so i clicked on the menu "photography"
4. as this wasn't the thing i was looking for, i clicked on "marketplace" again and.... I WAS LOGGED IN AS "Chan"!!! ok, chan's portfoglio is still empty. but i could see his address and his phone number.... :-(

so, no way i gonna upload on this site within the next few weeks (or maybe month) until veer really solved the problem!

brian, you should be more careful with your statements ("This has now been fixed. We take these issues very seriously.") after just having pulled the plug for a few hours a let your developers do some hocus pocus what obviously didn't work.

i would consider pulling the plug again and taking a little closer look...

apart from this: nice site - i hope you are able to get it right soon.
good luck
mac

i just got a rejection i never had before. it says:

"You will need a new, updated model release with signature dates matching the approximate date of this photograph. iStockphoto no longer accepts \"catch all\" model releases and now requires a unique release for each unique photo session.  Standards regarding model releases have recently been updated.  The changes aren\'t really new but have been slightly clarified for legal reasons."

it's getting really complicated now! what happens if i took a picture last year with a proper signed model release but i want to upload it today. how do the reviewers know if the release and the shoot date are the same or not? i have pictures i took month ago (with model release) but i would like to upload them now or even later. it would be quite a hard work to contact every single model and ask them to sign another release for the shots the signed already (and then maybe 3 month later again because i still have more pics of them)....

how will you guys handle this in future?

Bigstock.com / Re: How are you doing at BigStock?
« on: September 04, 2009, 16:47 »
Humm I just dont understand why  I dosent have one sale. Even just one will show something is going on at BigStock. But zero sells show me just a dead side with many uploder and less buyer.

I just checked your portfolio on BigStock. Your correct you have no sales ...... BUT you have no images to sell either. Put some photos on BigStock and I am sure the sales will come.

-Larry

hehehe - true!

anyway, also for me bigstock is a superlow seller. i am uploading on 9 sites at the moment. BigStock is definitely the first one i would skip (my port has about 500 pics)...

70
...here still not working - waiting for 1 1/2 days already....  :'(

StockXpert.com / Re: Are you still uploading there??
« on: August 16, 2009, 00:18 »
nothing has changed for me on StockXpert so far. review time was a little slow at the beginning of this month. last batch was fast, though. no rejections - sales normal. i'll keep uploading...

72
i have a big one  :o

i have only about 250 pics uploaded so far. so, my stats might not be very relevant, yet. but i'm usually making more than 50% of my microstock income on SS.

last month for example:

SS 51.87%

StockXpert 18.00%
FT 12.35%

DT 7.27%
IS 5.50%

BigStock, 123, CanStockPhoto together less than 6%

73
i uploaded my first 10 pictures on crestock in last december. all the shots never got rejected by any other stock site.

result: 2 approved - 8 rejected - no reasons for rejections added.

so, i sent crestock an email to ask about the rejection reasons in order to get an idea about what they are expecting. now, about 2 month later i still got no reply. and i decided to forget about this site.

crestock really sucks...

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Istock changes model release policy???
« on: February 12, 2009, 20:28 »
it's quite annoying. first, all the sites accepted my MRs. then IS changed their policy and started to reject my uploads. ok, i thought i would use the IS' MRs in future then coz there's really a lot of information in it and everybody should be fine with it.

aaaand: today i got my first rejections on DT coz of the MR with the following reason:

The model release represents a written agreement between the model and the photographer, therefore it must be governed by the laws of the country/state where one of the parties reside, or by international laws.
The attached MR/PR is signed specifically for another agency, or it is not generic in terms of the laws that govern the agreement. The model release represents a written agreement between the model and the photographer, therefore it must be governed by the laws of the country/state where the parties reside, or by international laws. Please use our own model release document or a generic one in English.

i had no problems for about two month on DT with this IS MR. but now it doesn't seem to be right anymore... hmmmm...

imagine, every site wanted to get its own MR signed and you have to tell the models: "sorry, may you pls fill out and sign this MR for me? and this one, and then this, and this..... eeehm..... those were the big 6, i'd have another 10 forms from smaller sites, too, if you don't mind......."

now, for the next shooting i gonna try denis' MR. hope, this works for all the sites. or does anybody have other suggestions?

cheers from bangkok
