When you edit your files, the price automatically is set at 8 for vectors. Does that mean they are going to add in an optional range or just screw us over and lower the price on some of our files?
They priced some vectors uploaded last night at 4 credits. they were at 8 when I submitted the file. Does that answer your question? (older files are still at 8 ) They now have (as far as i remember) one of the cheapest non-sub vectors of all sites... what's next? including vectors in the subscriptions? simple photos of isolated objects on white at half price too?... (i better stop giving ideas for free) by the way, is it THAT hard to extract the itpc from the jpg preview? What's the jpg for then? how about sending a newsletter notifying the changes? ... (preferably before the changes go live and we found out someway else)

Vectors
* Vectors must be archived with a JPEG preview inside a ZIP archive. * Supported vector formats are AI and EPS. * To ensure maximum compatibility, please save your vectors for a lower Illustrator version (for example: Illustrator 10). * Preview resolution must not be less than 2400 x 1600 (4 Million pixels). * Files must be less than 2 Megabytes. * You need to be the author of the files uploaded on Fotolia * Do not upload files with logos or other protected trademarks * Vectors should be clean files with a lot of detail (simple vectors without creative details will be refused) * Do not upload vectorized images
Here is the requirements for vector uploads at FT. Now I'm just hoping for some of that sweet sweet EL income to come rolling in.
thanks, i couldn't find it anywhere in the FT site (i only found it later at the spanish fotolia) 2 megabytes doesn't seem like a lot... and they want "files with a lot of detail". I'm just hoping the preview is not included in the 2 mb

hi, after reading in other thread ( link) that Fotolia now accepts EPS and AI files only (instead of svg), i went to FT to (try to) find how the eps should be uploaded (eps only, or eps+preview a la ss, or eps+full size jpg, etc): I couldn't find any info on this, but i noted that their website says vector files starting at 4 credits, and having different prices according to complexity ( 4-6-8 credits for non exclusive files, white to gold ranking) (from: http://www.fotolia.com/Info/Contents/Vectors) (from: http://www.fotolia.com/Info/Contributors) i haven't found any info on what's basic, detailed or elaborate, but here it says "Vectors shall be creative with a lot of details, and the work has to be clean (simple vectors without any creative detail will be refused)" so i guess basic is not really that basic... (or they are contradicting themselves)... i checked my gallery and all vectors are still at 8 credits. i haven't seen any description on the complexity levels, but mine are most likely not "elaborate", so I guess the change hasn't come into effect yet or the pages i'm seeing were posted before time... so.. basic math: instead of the 0.37 x 7 credits (=$ 2.59) i was making a month ago for a vector, now i will be making: 0.34 x 4 (=$ 1.36) for a "basic" vector, or 0.34 x 6 (=$ 2.04) for a "detailed" vector, or 0.34 x 8 (=$ 2.72) for an "elaborate" vector. on the other hand, the EL prices for vectors are going up (from 20 to 40 credits for base level, and 100 to 160 credits for silver ranking). does anyone found more info than this? will we receive any communication from FT on this changes this time?

how did you manage to get the vector out of focus? i'd like to try that (not on the whole vector tho).... (...) I see, now they accept only AI or EPS. (...)
what? when did that happen? i just submitted svg file a few days ago.... [sarcasm] did they send any communication about that change? i must have missed it... [/sarcasm] ps, not exactly the same, but i remember having vectors rejected for "type of photograph" ( maybe the rejection reasons are just generic)

Hi, I found some of mine there (funny to see my name surrounded by chinese characters): my author number is the same as in FT, and the image preview address is something like " http://wl.static. fotolia.com/jpg/00/09/73/15/400_F_9731525_BNRoCV4uVfSo1GkXdoSF1EkGdkW1NBzO.jpg", so I guess they're another Fotolia reseller.. BTW, do we have a list Fotolia resellers? Shouldn't we?

Really don't understand the EL thing. How can they expect to sell EL's for 1/5 the price of everywhere else and not have contributors freak out.
my head hurts.
maybe they expect us to freak out for that and miss some other part....

I received almost the same email, but there is one sentence referring to the issue of being anonymous. (emphasis mine) Hello, Thank you for your email. Pixmac is a new microstock agency. Beside our own collection, we also feature on our website the Fotolia collection because we have an affiliation and are Fotolias reseller. This is the reason you see your photos on our website, we are another distributing channel. We have no hires of Fotolias pictures - you will see all your downloads as well as your commission in your Fotolia account. In case there is any download of pictures you have uploaded on Fotolia, you still will get the same comission and you will be payed by Fotolia, like you would be by downloads through Fotolia directly. If you upload any pictures directly on Pixmac, you will get payed for this images directly by Pixmac. Unfortunatelly there was a mistake in displaying the names and there appeared pictures as "anonymous". The mistake had been already fixed, but it will be visible on the website tomorrow. By the dynamic preview (appears when you go with the mouse on the picture, without clicking on it) you can see your name as author.
If you have any other questions or need help, dont hesitate to contact us, we will be happy to help you
Have a nice day
Denisa Pixmac so, apparently they are faster at fixing broken things than fotolia

wow! I signed up with them (anonymously) before I was born, and have exclusive images with them that are on at least 5 other sites. sounds good, right?

It seems 8 is a very bad result, 99 would be the highest score. Is that correct?
nop, the lower the better, zero being perfect, so 8 in good i guess the score is the number of mistakes you had: i had 7 mistakes (all in the greens ) and scored 7 (in a non-calibrated crt monitor). now i have a headache and see color squares everywhere...

If you want to delete more then 1 images per day: Open "remove this photo" window on 2 or more computers then enter "ok" at the same time.
Interesting idea! I don't often have more than one computer near me, but I'm going to try this when I can.
It works even with one computer but it's more difficult. You have to open mutliply browser's windows and validate deleting very fast.
nice idea!... I tried to delete 3 at the same time (firefox, firefox+ie tab and opera) but was only fast enough for 2. I will try to be faster tomorrow

me too: 507 images (i'm besietenueve on FT because they don't allow a 3 character username ) but... i don't usually have the type of photograph they're looking for so i guess it's not a big loss for them anyway.... ...what's upsetting is that FT is absolutely silent on this.... no comment, no communication with photogs, nothing...upsetting.
not absolutely silent, they sent the new girl ("Amy") with a speech to try to explain why this was very good for us (not really convincing)

Does anyone have an example of a microstock site reacting in a positive manner to a rant or complaint in a forum? iirc when StockXpert was planing their subs scheme they posted a usd0.25 idea on their forum. most people there were let's say less than happy with that and their subs ended up being usd 0.30... Does anyone here actually think the complaining works? Or are folks just blowing off steam knowing full well nothing will change? 50/50

well... I don't post much (practically never i think) but usually read this forum (great work Leaf), and usually (try to) take the things with humour... so: what was the first(s) thing(s) you thought when you read the fotolia email or this thread: http://www.microstockgroup.com/index.php/topic,4784.0.html(max 3 votes per user) ps. i apologize in advance if some of the options are a bit "out of place", i just woken up that's how my mind work (don't) in the mornings... ps2. yes, my english is bad and i have a weird sense of humour, i know disclaimer: no, it's not meant to be a serious poll
