it must be from 50% to 200% more each year

shameless, they have that increase and still need to cut us more, they aren't happy with 200% and need 400% :o

52
I was thinking this was a new agency that for the 1st time would be controlled by contributors, anyway great work!

53
agencies and excuses walking together all the time but always for our best :o

54
Thank you for checking the e-mail regarding the changes of
the commission rates.

This is a big change for the contributors and we can imagine that
you are worried about this situation.
We have considered about this change for over 6 months and
finally decided to announce it for the reasons below.

The new investment is necessary to expand PIXTA and Imasia
on both the national andinternational markets to increase
the sales opportunity of the contributors.

The total sales of Pixta is growing for 1/2 to 2 times
every year and it doesn't meet the standard anymore.

We believe that this change will become a huge step to
return more benefits to the contributors in the future.
And we will do our best more than ever to improve our website
and our service so that you can make the best use of
our service and in order to develop together.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

We're working on some bugs still. Most large company websites have bugs and severe security issues, and we just released this into Beta, so please consider that.

Hope everyone enjoys the new site and considers joining. We're going to get to be the "the world's most popular photography network" eventually. We encourage feedback. So please respond or email us. We want to  make a great experience for photographers on the web.

why have you left photorankr behind?

56
the lack of respect for photographers is incredible, I don't understand how can he talk about us with so little importance, that is where the crowdsourcing lead us and a few shameless minds too

Have not tried the buying process, but the back-end (and even login page!) is not encrypted.  Definitely do not recommend using this site from a WiFi hotspot/caf.  Also, do not use a password for this site that is used on another site.

all site is a joke, nothing works, now I am trying to change password and the update button doesn't go anywhere, can't get any worst than that...

the Free talk needs to get out of the site as well, you actually need to pay 7$ a month to get the 100% commission

We're about you, the photographer - and we're here to prove it. Free portfolios, 100% commission, and the best social photo sharing experience, period.

you guys opened close to 1 year ago and there isn't still IPTC, I am trying to update my profile and it doesn't save

trying (testing) to buy a print and it doesn't go anywhere, what a mess

had an invitation on March 13th, a few emails until the 21th (regarding pricing, royalties, contract, everything was fine), after that they told me they were going to send me a contract in a week but I have never heard anything back

just emailed them asking if there are any news

Don't you think it is about time to start demanding fair compensation?

what % should Jon pay us? 50%?

even that (which is a ton more than all stock agencies, talking about the ones with buyers) would still get us a few dollars and millions for him, its just a big business with tons of buyers and contributors

Jon will always be a Silicon Valley billionaire and we his little contributors, that will never change

have you ever thought about other businesses?

are farmers getting as much as the supermarkets? are musicians getting as much as labels? are writers getting as much as publishers? are doctors getting as much as the company owner they work for?

unfortunately the world isn't ready to share the wealth created using other "work", what would you pay if you were Jon?

you can ask whatever you wish and I would love a few raises too but why would Jon be different from the rest of the world? not even going to talk about the direct competitors % royalties

solution: build your own SS and share the wealth you created or just be a normal business man and pay as much as your competitors like all agencies do

It is hard to figure out and it is indeed a contest to get accepted. After that, if you get an image accepted to RM you get to pay $50 to list the image with them.

that can't be right, I can't imagine a sports photographer spending 50$ a piece when I see over 100 pictures from a single World Cup match, maybe someone else is paying

"The white areas are a rough approximations of the 130 countries where you can live for under 500 US Dollars per month."

i live in one of those countries and i'd sure like to know how you live on $500 or less. okay, maybe some of us need electricity and running water.

yeah, I think it depends how you want to live or can afford, even in the UK you can find a room for 300 pounds (all bills included) if you don't mind living with 3 or 4 persons, even if you want to live alone you can still find places for that same price but then you have council, tv license and other bills, I am not talking of London of course (but places not far away, like 1h)

I think it's because we can see nothing's going to play out differently than any others who have tried to start the exact same thing in the past.  It's a site that accepts any image that comes in and wants to payout %80 of the sales which means no money for marketing or improvements.  It's just nothing new, so we can see the end of the story.

actually its 100% for the photographer

Yes, the 20% is added on top. So, if you price an image at 5, the buyer will pay roughly 6.40. 5 to you, 1 (the 20%) to Picfair, and 0.40 to Stripe, who process our payments.

"what would you peeps advice??"

Don't get into microstock.

are you leaving?
