Actually, I think that bigger preview might help to increase the sales, although there may by more people stealing images. As an independent web and graphic designer I don't like to use the small preview images from stock agencies to show how the final product will look like to the customers. Customers wants to see the quality preview and are deterred by the lowres watermarked pictures, so I rather look for some free source of quality pictures, or stock agencies with the higher quality previews as I can't afford to waste money and buy something which I will not use in the final design. There is an increasing number of photographers who offer their pictures with Creative Commons or Public Domain license. And you can find their pictures on portals with such self-explanatory names like deathtothestockphoto or gratisography. So blaming the agencies that they are trying to give your pictures for free doesn't make any sense. They want to earn something in the constantly changing world same as the photographers do. You can't expect increasing income if the offer starts to exceed the demand. It's simple economy. Adapt or die. This is how nature works.
What you are saying here doesn't make sense either. If you only show highrez images to your clients than you are not a SS client. No other agency has highrez preview. SS has never shown any preview to buyers before this calamity hit us contributors, still sales were good. Now instead, it is public domain, how convenient for an independent web designer. May I ask why do you need highrez images for web design? I can understand that it suits you but it's painful for us, even if it doesn't make sense to you.

I've found my images there too. It is either from SS or Ft, sure not istock or DT. I don't recognize the watermark on the image either. My question is, if they bought the image with a license, why do they give credit to the author under the image?

On some rejections, the reviewer advised me to make a collage of all similar images (there were 3) and submit it as one. I can't do that as long as I submit them separately to other agencies but I've seen some contributors are okay with this.

I thought that similars policy was over/eased?! When some rivals started to accept almost everthing, this is nonsense. This doesn't offset the extra dollars coming because of the image levels system, I think.
It seams, they don't care about rivals. I just got an answer to my email, asking if they are still in business because sales stopped for me. The answer was: " If you keep increasing and diversifying your portfolio you will increase your exposure." They also said that they are approaching to 40 million images in their library and they increase it with roughly one million images per month. That is plenty, I think. No need to accept similars, unfortunately.

Many.

Someone in the room should have pointed out the emperor had a bare arse.
I'm surprised at SS - this is amateurish.
You are very polite. I would say: this is incompetence, like in so many other cases lately on SS.

On most images the watermark is invisible due to image color, texture, subject.......You don't have to remove anything for web use, just downsize.
If nothing else, this will sure kill both sales and competition. Who on earth will buy images ever again from FT, IS..... when they can have them for free from SS.
The he.l with contributors! Nice stab in the back of (raising) competitors as well. You are the star SS!

They seems to be back at top tier, but for how long....?
The poll here is totally irrelevant and I must say, it's very misleading, especially for new contributors. With just a few votes, everybody interested can push the results up. In the last two month (for me) Dt should be in low earners category, almost as ineffective as CT.
In the past, even without sales, I could see many views on new uploads, while in the last two month view are as sparse as at CT. That clearly means no exposure.
It may be but no more misleading than any individual's experience. For me its roughly correct. If any one knows any better source I would love to know.
Aren't votes "any individual's experience" as well? I was talking about DT being in top-tier (and I quoted), not the rest of the agencies.

Sorry for the stupid question, but what will happen to those withheld money?
You will have to deduct this amount from the total amount or taxes you have to pay in your own country at the beginning of the next year.

Without editorial content Fotolia/Adobe will never be no 1
I'm not so sure, there are many talented and experienced photographers here who don't need a more forgiving review to be accepted.

So, it's an email. In this case, my apologies Symbiostock. I haven't got this new version yet.

In September this year we emailed you to notify you of a promotion offer that would be running on Adobe Stock, and that your commission would be unaffected and remain the same as usual.
After this successful initial offering we have decided to promote a first month free offer to encourage new members to Adobe Stock, which will be running from today, October 5th until October 30th. In addition we are also offering 120 free images to all MAX attendees, exposing your images to even more potential customers.
We wanted to inform you that regardless of this offer occurring, your commission will be unchanged and you will continue to generate royalties at the current rate.
Many thanks Fotolia/Adobe Stock Team
Quote from where? Is this an e-mail or what? Has anyone else got one of this? Are you playing us Symbiostock?

I don't think they have anything to do with sales. The forum is separate from the main site. Besides, 0 Saturdays and even Sundays are the rule for me for a long while now.

The solution is fairly simple. Forum software is the same that AM uses but, there, the first post is moderated.
And who should moderate at SS? They don't do night shift and they are probably fee for weekends.

To get back to the initial topic: the next wave of spam attacks is hitting the forum. I wouldn't go to bed or even enjoy the weekend off if I were SS. WAKE UP! Tomorrow there might even more affected than just the forum...
Exactly my thoughts. Apparently, nothing related to contributors is important for SS, any more. Why is it so hard to apply a simple language filter to stop entries other than English. I have to fill out that stupid chaptha each and every time I navigate from one page to another on SS and this guy is creating tens of accounts undisturbed.

I emailed SS too, apparently everybody is still sleeping at this hour. In the meantime, thousands of spam links are invading the forum.

Men's world. From what I saw it's all business, no diversity. Life is not just business. With a woman's eyes these images have no feeling, no soul. I'm sure, ports with pretty girl and harmonious family scenes have more sales, though I realize, most of you don't agree.

It is not about too much work, I'm a hard worker but forum content is not part of the site. The site (DT) can't assume the veracity of something written in a forum thread.
It seams that reviewer are confused too (very). I've got my rejection from DT with the note: reupload with PR and the reviewer points me to a thread where they are talking about "live trace and auto trace". That would be vectors, I think.
In fact, what I uploaded were photos of my paintings (painted by me). SS refused them with the note to reupload as illustrations. Done that and approved. Now DT points me to vectors, this is insane!
I reuploaded two hours ago, they are still spinning in processing. This is really nerve consuming.

Thank you cuppacoffee, the link was helpful. At least I found out that I have to upload fist the PR and then the images, otherwise I can start again reuploading. I was not expecting that they go so fast under review.
DT is not at all user friendly, info is scattered all over the place. Instructions like this should be more visible, in the FAQ or sidebar or at least a tooltip on that little house icon which is not at all suggestive.
Thanks again for your help.

I just uploaded some illustrations to DT and the appropriate PR to the library for them. I can't figure out how to associate images with their PR. By the time I finished editing categories, my illustrations were already under review. Now I can't edit them. I've sent an email to support but who knows when and if they answer.
Can anyone please help me out with this? I Googled the question and found nothing.
