I can't begin to understand why anyone would create this and how they could ever be accepted. Totally bizarre. Is there any possible explanation?
Is that the same one who drove through the city with a GoPro set to 1 frame per second and uploaded all of them?
I still want to know how or why SS ever accepts those. And if it's someone different why they accept the 19,000 blurred backgrounds?
The only thing I can think is money laundering ie using an account to transfer dodgy funds cross border?
Interesting angle. Someone buys a subscription then only downloads from people with these trash collections. Wouldn't that kind of throw up a flag for SS? I mean say I have someone in another part of the world, buy a subscription and download the limit from mine, for a profit. Or as your idea money laundering, break even, gets the money back somewhere else. But then there are records of the transactions, as expenses on one end or earnings on the other.
Still I wouldn't discount something else going on, beyond stupid uploads of useless files that will never sell, or absurd reviews that miss thousands of blurred backgrounds created by a PS action. How does that guy with the driving through the city get all that passed?
Or did you have some other way that these accounts are somehow tied to money laundering? I don't see it.
Yes I was thinking along the lines you said. I think its unlikely but not completely implausible by making the collections so huge it might make the activity less visible plus if you are not looking for something you won't find it. SS seem to have a habit of not looking for things or some of these collections or those of image thieves wouldn't exist.

Or it could be that real world denial of "people can't afford as much as they use to" kind of slap in the face reality. Its like this all over. Its like things or do you by food or medication or bills? Most of the time trying to make a decent living is like chasing a water fall. I really wish it wasn't.
interesting theory - but I think people who buy images/videos tend to be in a market where they will at the very least get their money back, if not double, triple, or 10x it...
you don't have people "casually"/for fun purchasing images/videos because they want to hang it on their wall. People who purchase it are using it for business purposes to make more money.
But Zazzle sell products rather than images. Most people I talk to find them expensive plus its getting easier and easier for people to create their own design. Zazzle has never been viable for me just sell a few postcards now and then.

They've been predicting the end of stock for decades but it never happens

But one day they will be able to say "I told you so".

More worrying for stock models.....those with the skills will be able to create stock imagery using this whether it will be defined as photos or illustrations or a new class of image remains to be seen.

It's disgraceful that Adobe do not give any details they just take our money.
Why do we have to pay for their "accounting error"?
An airline sells a ticket at the wrong price. They still honor that ticket.
We are just bailing out Adobe.
Not always.....the reason is simply that airlines face competition. In the end who is actually going to walk away from probably the second best selling agency?
This problem will be solved if non-exclusive way of contributing disappear and we have to choice agency to which will upload exclusively and at every new shot to decide where, where and why there...
Be careful what you wish for if that happened there would be only two or three viable agencies who would hold the whip hand.
How? They will need images, but there is one image for one agency and i hold the image.
Who is going to go exclusive with anyone but the biggest 2-3 agencies? What happens when you close your account and you have to wait months for them to withdraw images from the site.

I think the airline honor's the ticket because it's good PR and the right thing to do. #adobebailout
Good PR yep....because its the "right thing to do" I very much doubt its just a hard headed business decision.

Its excellent software...its a sad commentary on IS that a third party needed to create such a thing but I'm very grateful they did.

Since February 1st, my sales are 27c instead of 25c, not complaining though. Still can not figure which is worse BS or DP?
From a sales/income perspective DP is much better for me by a factor of about 4. Both take the same time to upload. For me they are the only two things that matter.

Same here, January was a good month, even the best month ever Febrary is close to the worst month ever, just one sale
I appeal to all who have small portfolios, do not spend your time of making conclusions about sales. Spend your time on creating new content and free your mind from sales conclusions, it's too early. Spend your time on analyzing what you have sold, not how much, again it's too early.
This month 1 sale and next month 5 sales, doesn't mean 500% growth. This month 1000 sales and next month 5000 sales, this mean 500% growth!!!
Perhaps we should work harder and smarter or HARSMARTER
or "Hamster"....get back on your wheel!

Maybe but the people contributing to this thread have generally had 8-9 years in the business and it is an assumption that they have small ports.

Out of 2600 images (currently) I used to get $15 per month average in 2016 when I had half that number now I'm lucky to see $5 per month.
The uploader doesn't work properly and FTP upload doesn't work at all.
I get 27 cents on average so I stopped uploading.
The highest I ever got was the odd $1 or 50 cent download.
I'd say don't bother wasting your effort.
BS is dying for long periods for me. Apparently SS recruited more staff a while back to develop BS further. I find that very hard to believe. They'd be better off killing it and concentrating on getting the Shutterstock site to work properly.

I don't know how it works in Europe but in the US even if you win and get a judgement it is really hard to get your money if they don't want to pay you. You can sell your won judgement to a collections agency for maybe 5% to 10% of its value. At the end of the day there will be jerks that steal your work. .....
Yeah, but a LAWYER!!! http://www.kennysullivan.ie/contact

Blockchain is often cited here as being the solution to unpaid-for uses, but I can't see that it will make one bit of difference. Interested to hear why others think I'm wrong.
No I think you are totally correct.

complicating keywording is best way to turn your contributors away
I only submit on 123rf and deposit because they are easiest to submit.
...
simple site, fast submit and important statistic is only that matter to contributors Mat. Only those three.
None of the big sites need more contributors. They already have a thousand times too many.
I find it to be a very good thing if it's a bit complicated to submit and there are things you can do to improve your search ranking.
That means I can get an advantage, and I don't have to deal with competitors that don't want to do the work. More sales for me.
A fast and easy submission process is the fastest way to eliminate sales.
I hate doing it but actually I think you are right. However, a certain level of sales are required to make it worthwhile RF123 certainly don't achieve that.

My experiment continues. It seems I need to set up some kind of magic beans wallet...can anyone give a non technical steer on this? If its going to cost be anything I'm out.
"WMK is an ERC20 token, so any wallet that supports this standard protocol will automatically support WMK. A popular for storing your tokens is MyEtherWallet but we recommend doing some additional research to decide whats right for you."
Hope its simpler for buyers or its going sink.
I can't find any metrics on the site either.
There is no metrics. Opening a ERC20 token wallet is free. I use MetaMask for that purpose.
I'm not optimistic that I'm going to sell anything but its an interesting learning experience I guess ;-)

"Key features on Fotolia are now limited. You have already synced your account and are all set."
I get this but when I try to log in at adobe it takes me to a sync screen and tells me the account is already in use. Any ideas?
This is an indication you are trying to sign in with the wrong Adobe ID. Sign out of the page and sign back in with the email address you used to sync with originally.

Thanks for that - your helpful support team sorted it for me....I had to use the dreaded Explorer though need to clear the chrome cache I think. Top marks for their quick response....
