My images have been reviewed today. I uploaded them on 12 nov, so it took almost 2 weeks. It was a test of 8 images, just to see how tough uploading is and how long it takes to have them inspected....no rejections this time.... I'll give them a try with 200 pics more and see how they perform over the next 6 months before uploading the entire portfolio. The strange thing is that some images have been put within the "budget" cathegory (i.e. at microstock prices) while others falled into the "value" one, where prices start from 19 to 365!! what do you think on it?

Agree with loop. There certainly isn't any copyspace here. Not particularly joyful, etc...
This is why people who complain about keywords need to post an image to show their case.
Sean, I forgot to mention that I don't do keywording by myself anymore and outsorce it to wordsforimages.com, which is a professional service working accordingly to Getty guidelines and is managed by Shannon Routzahn, who did keywording for superstock for about 8 years.... I don't think professionals do keyword spamming for their clients!! Talking about copyspace, one of the photos of this series has been licenced to Zweute Hand for their new advertisement, which found enough copyspace to insert 1 object (note that all 5 photos of this series have been taken from the same angle or slightly different). Further, none of 10 other agencies (between microstock and midstocks) pointed out any keyword spamming....nor that some keywords are inappropriate. ...

recently one of my photos have been approved on istock but they said that the following keywords are not fully relevant to the subject: {[Joy, Day, Copy Space, 20-24 Years, 25-29 Years]} This is the file: http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup.php?id=7831720Maybe they're right....actually the model looks sad, this photo has been shot at night, there is no room to write a message or insert objects, and of course the model is 50 years old....but she just came back from a spa and looks younger!! I think I should go for exclusivity....my doctor said it will help me to have good sight..... Best, diego

... or Out of stock!
I think it really depends....In my case, I get 1 pay-out per month since the first quarter of 2008. Growth in revenues is slow but consistent year after year, so it's fine to me. diego

Hi all, did some of you already complain about it with istock? What do you think about sending a collective complain to make them hear our voice louder? Diego

ODs have been amazing this month. I made nearly 90$ and 7$ on back up cds when the normal is 2 - 3$. Earnings in general are well down though and I think it is the worst month this year for earnings.
Right! my overall incomes are 10% less than july, even though I had a consistent number of OD sales...

Hi all, I wonder what's going on at fotolia recently. Even if I always separate multiple keywords by comma, I'm still getting this kind of email after any submission:
"Hello, please separate multiple keywords by semicolon or comma.
It seems there is a problem with photo #content_id, which you submitted.
However, this photo has not been accepted yet due to one or more Editing issues:
the information is not precise enough. the information is incomplete the index information does not correspond well to the photograph submitted spelling mistakes
You still have the option of modifying or of supplementing this information while clicking on Edit in front of your photograph under the heading My Photos."
Did some of you got the same messages?
Further, I noticed that sales have dropped around 40% so far...do you know if they changed something in the search engine?
thanks, diego

Hi all, just to tell you I'm outsorcing my keywording recently and I tryed out this service: http://wordsforimages.com/I read about it on stockphototalk. Very fast, accurate and it's managed by Shannon Routzahn, who used to work for years for a21 (i.e. superstock). 1$ per photo for "getty style" keywording (which in most cases suits the microstock one). I sent her around 15 images and I never experienced over than 50 tags. Maybe some of you may find it useful. Best regards, Diego

In my opinion they have one of the best archives even though it's a bit small. I signed up with them and started submitting some images (some exclusive and some others not). I'll keep you updated guys diego

I use lightroom since it has been release and I love it. Anyway, I gave 2 tries to Aperture for a few days (both the old version and the new trial). I found it very slow even using the most simple tools (consider that I work on a mac pro with 2x2,66Ghz CPU and 3gb ram!!!!!). The new version is a bit faster but is still a donkey compared to lightroom. Further, I think it has a complicated interface and it used to crash using the loop tool.... In other words, it took me too much time to develop a few raws so every time I switched back to lightroom. Best regards, Diego

How is it going for you on Panthermedia? I see it as a very slow animal! Long review times and very few " clicks" on images in Stock Agency.
right, the review process is quite slow. However, PM is starting to sell on a costant basis to me. This month I got 12 sales on a relatively small portfolio of 115 images. In the next weeks I'll upload a portfolio specifically designed for the midstocks and see what happens with the 50% royalty. I'll keep you updated guys Best regards, Diego

Sorry but I believe that the purpose of this forum is to share information among us and help each other
Perhaps I was unclear in this. I just wanted to wait till they have a referral program in place. It's easy money and it benefits us all. I never join a new site any more without a referral code of some members here.
When I started uploading in the very beginning, there were glitches in the FTP (non UTF-8 in the filenames) and the IPTC import (they imported the wrong field as title) and we managed to iron them all out in the forum recently. I had to copypaste all the titles of the first 200 uploaded, and their programmer had to tweak my FTP file names manually.
Just wanted to avoid a lot of lost time for contributors here. All works fine now. It's nothing personal at all Diego, at the contrary. For more than a year, you are 1 of my fav photogs on DT ;-)
No problem, FlamishDreams. I understand your point and your concerns about the referral program.... wow I just had a look diego's portfolio, for those who haven't it really is good
I just so love this image - http://dreamstime.com/healthcare-image4632793

thank you so much, Phil....

Sorry but I believe that the purpose of this forum is to share information among us and help each other Clearly, the existance of a new microstock site is not a "confidential information" and, as far as I know, applications are open to everybody. Then, it's their business to decide what is worth to be accepted. What do you think? Yap and I'd wish you would have kept it private for a while like all other people did here.
Well said, when I got my email I was impressed that it was personally written and as a result I've uploaded there.
It would seem now that anybody can contribute, I just hope they maintain the site on a professional level, they've started out well and have a good marketing strategy and background.
For anybody that has joined as a result of seeing this thread I implore you to maintain a level of professionalism on this site, don't turn the forum into something like LO or FP which now come over as sites for amateur snappers, that will kill Yaymicro and we'll all lose out on any potential sales.

I've just been emailed by a new microstock site, called yaymicro, which is looking for contributors. Any of you guys have already heard about it?

Strange thing: my sales at Canstock are increasing while subs are going down. I've had almost as much sales there so far this year as on LO since I started November 2006. That doesn't account for much, but money is money, and if this continues, I'm looking at another payout soon. maybe I should start uploading again
I'm experiencing the same thing recently. diego
