Injustice for all, can you not see beyond your nose? I may be wrong but this is how I see it all unravelling in the near future...
AI is being used by the agencies to make contributors obsolete. Our images were being used to train AI and now we are being used to improve it by using AI. AI images will exponentially saturate the market and without retaining copyright to the new AI images, the agencies will remove us from the picture, keeping only the AI images which will dominate the market. New AI images will be genetated by customers at the prompt, adding more AI to the database. AI will be used to generate titles and tags. Soon they will not need human artists and photogtaphers at all.
I see it completely differently. I simply believe that if you want to continue working as you always have, you won't be able to get anything good out of this, you have to adapt, create content that AI can't do,or create real content that a customer can't generate with AI because it wouldn't be the same, for various reasons. In February I stopped for a moment,I thought about the AI issue for a long time and I decided to take a direction, which now after a few months is generating good profit. I see that "mino216" said the key phrase "our role is changing" and is exactly like this. I don't believe that AI will make contributors obsolete, rather I believe it's up to us to make sure we don't become obsolete. How do you explain to me that the AIs have already been there for a year and this month on AS I have sold 5 times more, than my previous BME?And the month isn't over yet! you see, your theory doesn't hold up,if that were the case my sales should go down not up. I remind you that my portfolio is AI free,I have never used AI in any way to create my contents until now.

This is very important.
I am reading in many groupsoh but if I use generative fill on a tiny section or just removbe a small object it is okno it is not
And I am sure agencies like istock, ss etc.. that do not allow gen ai content will consider this an attempt at fraud.
I will continue to process in old photoshop elements that does not have any gen ai tools.
I am sure that Istock team sees fraud everywhere even while they sleep, they are so obsessed that they see fraud even in coffee while having breakfast and think how they can ruin someone's life during their bad fraudulent day!

first of all thanks for the Firefly bonus! I personally have no concern that my content will be used to train Firefly, first of all I get paid by AS for this, and there are no reference to the source content in the final content created by AI,so I don't understand the concerns about using your content to train AI,but of course everyone has their own point of view. The fact is that in my opinion, any content whether AI or not,has the same sales potential, for some certain projects real content is necessary, for others AI is better. AIs are here now,the only thing i can do is roll up my sleeves and start creating content that can't be done or that doesn't fit well with AIs ...I almost forgot....keep it up!

BME for me this month, and BWE too! Truly an incredible month at AS,even removing the Firefly bonus,I have sold 5 times more than normal so far!Keep it up! Since I no longer waste time with Istock,I can dedicate almost all my time to the best agency out there:Adobe Stock. SS has been bad for two months now,an endless rain of 10 cents,I hope there will be some good singles soon or unfortunately if things continue like this I'll stop with SS. Edit:my portfolio is AI free!

an average month on SS,an excellent month on AS thanks to the best sale of this year for images, and a splendid video sale,BME on Depositphotos that this month has surpassed my remote imagination. a powerful month, keep it up!

Only people who have produced quality images, at the cost of effort, time, renunciation of mediocrity, self-challenge, and perhaps ultimately talent can understand this turning point. And they see absolutely no benefit in what AI produces. AI enthusiasts can only be delighted to finally be able to produce what they have never been able to produce.
I agree in part, the first part of what you wrote in my opinion is better than the second part. I don't produce AI images, but I'm mostly waiting for the storm to pass and the technology to improve, but this can also be a disadvantage, because first come first served, and I believe there are many advantages with AI,although I prefer old fashioned content without a doubt. I believe that in the future I will produce AI content, but I'm not entirely sure,I'm thinking about it.

And if I show you my dark side Will you still hold me tonight? And if I open my heart to you And show you my weak side
What would you do?
Would you sell your story to Rolling Stone? Would you take the children away And leave me alone? And smile in reassurance As you whisper down the phone? Would you send me packing? Or would you take me home? Thought I oughta bare my naked feelings Thought I oughta tear the curtain down I held the blade in trembling hands Prepared to make it but... Just then the phone rang I never had the nerve to make the Final Cut
The Final Cut Pink Floyd
now,my opinion about your question is no,I don't delete old contents because they can be sold anyway,I have a photo of a dog in a field, which was one of the first photos I uploaded, which objectively is made rather bad and is among my best sellers.

they are like Istock connect sales, like 10c sales on SS too...and many other cases.
I'm relatively interested in the price per content, and of course when I see a 10 cent sale I'm always disappointed, but for me the important thing is the total year-by-year earnings,as long as I continue to earn more year after year I continue to work, when it will be that I will earn 30% less than the previous year in the total between all agencies, that will be the moment when I will quit.
for this year I have already reached my target, having already earned more than last year,so next year I will continue.

... I've always been that fish that swims upstream, and that will probably end up drowned! ..
most fish who swim upstream spawn, waste away & die - hope you're the exception
therefore...a nice swim against the tide, then reproduction(I hope this part lasts for a while at least)..to then have the time to waste away in peace before dying....a good life I would say! thank you!

first of all i'm sorry for what happened,I hope everything turns out for the best.
I hope Adobe just wants to delete content that violated the terms, because after all it is also their responsibility, let me explain clearly:
I am a creator,an artist,i am not an expert in intellectual property right.
Adobe have their own experts, who are the reviewers,i understand that they can't filter everything 100% perfectly, but as we have seen there were also famous and well-known logos among the accepted content.
so I hope they take their responsibilities too,and I hope they hunt down real thieves instead.
I am glad Adobe take intellectual property rights very seriously, and I am sure they will act for the best.

what a mess with these AIs! I stay away for now,too much risk of copyright or accidentally running a prompt already done by someone else. I'm sure content created by AI generative tools sell well, but today I had a nice walk in the nature under the summer sun with my tripod and my camera, interacting with animals, insects and plants near the waterfalls,I have been taking pictures since I was 14,I had my own darkroom, lupo enlarger, developing tank and other toys, and surely it won't be an AI to stop me. I'll think about it in the future, but I'm starting to think about keeping this style, because in the end a customer who wants real things, seeing my portfolio, immediately understands that there are no AI contents. maybe I'm wrong, because first come first served, but in the end I've always been that fish that swims upstream, and that will probably end up drowned! sorry for the chatter!

I'm considering using AI-generated images as a reference for colors and composition, and then redrawing them using Adobe Illustrator with additional elements. Will upload it as Vector illustration. Do I still need to show that it is AI generated? Thanks
This is a good question and i think yes,i think it can be done,I don't think you need to check the AI content box in this case, because in the end there are no AI generated elements in the final content, but surely Mat will be able to give a definitive answer. And this also makes me think about how those nice vectors were made on Shutterstock,a while ago someone showed these really well done vectors,I think they did just that to create them.

Yes,it is common practice for Istock to destroy people's years of work
That may very well be, but in my case, as I state above, the 200 missing images miraculously appeared yesterday. Likely, the problem was a glitch in the system.
I'm sorry you have had such bad luck at istockphoto. And hope you have found a new home for your portfolio.
Thank you,and yes i am better now, because since i don t work anymore with Istock,i have much more time for AS,and my sales have improved a lot. With Istock in the end I was still earning the same thing every month, after 2019/2020 sales dropped in the following years. however their way of acting is really sleazy, they find excuses to justify their actions, and if necessary they change excuses too,the important thing for them is to do what they want, and with no respect for a person who has worked hard for years,no warning,no questions, nothing, just a sudden email that arrives in the middle of the night in which they tell you what they have already decided, covering it all up with trivial and lacking in imagination excuses.

Yes,it is common practice for Istock to destroy people's years of work by accusing them of being thieves when in fact the real thieves are them who steal the time of people who spend years working on thousands of contents only to find themselves after years with nothing left or with much less content.
Now,until these things happen to you, always believe that it's the fault of others who somehow did something wrong, but is not so.
I suggest everyone pay close attention to Istock,I no longer work with them,I no longer trust them.

Injustice for all, buy a good video camera.
842
« on: August 17, 2023, 09:09 »
I sent 7 videos on SS,all rejected for noise.
Worse for them because they are particular videos that they don't have in their library. As always,I don't re-submit rejected content, when something is rejected the first time for me it ends there. All 7 videos have already been accepted in other agencies.
I don't care much because for sure video is only something secondary for me,I prefer to do vectors and photos. Vectors take much more time but it's worth it in my opinion.

I have been doing this for nearly 20 years.
Woooooow !
Nearly 20 years ? And your photos still look like they are created with mobile phone for the social media story post : "look what I just eat for breakfast" ?
Well...
But how dare you talk to a person like that? And who do you think you are?Do you think you are better than someone else? But no one has taught you a minimum of respect?

For me sometimes SS is better and other times AS is better, lately SS is better and for sure on SS I have bigger single sales than AS.
However,I wanted to highlight a trend that I have seen since the beginning of the year and which, from what I understand,is a general condition:Total sales number on SS are down about 20%,although I've made more money this year, than previous years,so far probably just lucky to have had several big singles, but luck doesn't last forever, total number of sales is more important and it must rise not fall. This trend is clearly worrying,I hope it is a temporary condition.

I've been waiting since August 1st,it seems that they have decided to pay once a week, perhaps, because lately I always receive payments on Saturday morning Italian time. come on Adobe!my cats are hungry!I tried to explain the situation to them but I'm not sure they understood!

« on: August 11, 2023, 06:22 »
For the past months, Adobe has been sending me money on Saturdays. Wait until tomorrow.
yes I also received the last payments on Saturday morning around 2-4 am Italian time, this shows that they try to funnel payments into those few days. Now I don't know the facts,I certainly don't know many things, but I have the impression that they could do better, for both payments and reviews, because waiting up to a month for a review seems a little too much to me,and I understand that they are flooded with AI content, but it is something they will surely have foreseen,so i don't know why all this time.

there are people who earn thousands of dollars?! thats a lot of dimes. [/quote]
there are many more than you can imagine, but to be able to earn thousands of dollars a month, especially if you start in these times,it takes many years and many hours of work a day even with AI,then it also depends on the type of content,in my opinion quality is worth more than quantity, but that's not certain because finding a niche and covering it with mediocre content can be just as profitable as well.

The first thing I thought was that reducing the minimum threshold is a bad signal, but i'm not so sure because a lower threshold means paying more every month, which can be an indication of good financial health and/or a sign of an optimistic outlook,or even to attract more contributors for data assets.
