for starters the month is barely more than 2/3 done. also how can things be the same and down 60%? It seems about the same as Oct for me except a few more big sales at Alamy, but the obese female has not sung yet so I don't really know. So, a lot less than during the good years (2011 - 2015) but things haven't fallen off any new cliffs.
Well for me its a projection based on sales so far so yes there's hope but it has gone down dramatically for me whether its a trend or just one very bad month for me time will tell. I doubt very much that sales across the board have tanked more like the latest algorithm changes have hit some hard.

As you were kind enough to thank me.....they calculate for the previous month by the 20th and which time you should be able to see the royalties report and once your total tips over the $100 they send you by the 25th sometimes earlier.

...I wonder if it is only me who is facing currently "falls" in sells at AS after the announcement that FT will be closed, while sells in SS are going up in this period... Do you think it is seasonal or, simply, new buyers have started to choose SS more often as a long-term partner after this news biased by uncertainty towards AS?
Not at all, you can see the recent threads about SS being almost completely dead for a week or so while AS was growing good and many of us got 100$ sales at AS right about that time. I'd say it's seasonal after all.
...funny, in my case SS is more than alive, it is boosting with life... But FT was super good in October, and now it is obviously going down in November, as far as I can see by today...
It just illustrates you just can't read too much into one (or even a few people's) figures....people have been predicting the imminent collapse of SS for years on the basis that they have had a bad month ;-0.

I suspect its just coincidence my experience is the opposite.

Same here mate! fallen through the floor!! with the exception of Fotolia!...its the same everywhere right across the board almost!
Everywhere else is fairly average for me. I think Adobe may well be giving SS some serious competition at last.

if announcing the good news is less annoying than reporting the bad news. perhaps this is not the right place for you? By your logic, if ppl who stating BME are considered as contributing to the forum, then what makes those who reporting their poor sales not in the same contributing to the forum group? By the way, i never said I dont like people who contribute to the forum. You put the words in my mouth.
I like people contributing to forums whatever they say. You appear to only want those people who report things in line with your criteria and preferences. I didn't say anything about you not liking people just not liking it when people contribute to the forum.

Why ppl love to announce BME?? If you start by earning 25 cents a month, chances are you likely to get your BME often. You know how annoying that is to ppl constantly seeing somebody announcing the so called BME when the fact is you just earned 25 cents more than your previous BME, No one know your BME surmounts to anything and if you dont compare with others than why dont you keep the good news to yourself? Ppl hardly care if you hit your BME or not except yourself!! If you announce the number of dls at least more informative than to hear ppl jumping with joy hooraying ITs my BME again.
Not as annoying as people complaining that their sales have gone down month after month for years on end. It must be really upsetting for you to see people sharing their good news. If you don't like people contributing to forums perhaps this is not the right place for you.

I don't think that was ever officially stated (BICBW), but certainly for photos, that's how it has seemed for a while. However, they seem to be more picky for illustrations.
They don't seem too picky anymore there either. Not that I'm testing it with a lot of garbage. I just assumed the floodgates were open everywhere. In hindsight, maybe upload limits and stricter rejections weren't too bad.
I agree things should be much tougher...except for my images obviously. I remember when Istock's test was by far the toughest your images had to be nearly perfect to pass.

I thought Istock said are while back once you were accepted they would accept anything other than for legal compliance reasons.

I certainly have submitted some er "borderline" stuff the only rejections being their still very strict compliance rules.

The other factor is time to upload If I can fire them off on FTP and forget thats one thing but spending extra time on Meta data is a no no.

No ones fault really - look at any other digital market. Music for example. Sadly inevitable. But totally agree anyone who thinks they can predict income from images not even submitted yet is being optimistic to put it mildly.

I occasionally got batches where almost all were rejected. I also just moved on rather than waste time arguing about it. Seems they are following the current trend of accepting almost everything.

The second one is really the only one that counts in the current market

I'm sure there are many customers who search for the lowest price of the chosen videos or images. I did it myself in the past and it's very fast and easy.
and many don't.....its a complete guess which is better really and I can't see a reliable way of working it out. Too many other variables to know if an increase in sales is because of withdrawing from another agency.

I have no idea what "very good" means to you for Shutterstock sales, but I think your main problem on Adobe Stock is probably keywords. The few I checked were pretty bad - not descriptive of what's in the image; repetitive - horse is shown twice for this image of a pig in a dress; not ordered so the first 7 keywords are the most important.

Keywords on the above are:
horse animal grass farm pasture horse meadow nature field mare animal grazing green summer white foal mammal black brown equine rural pony fast horse beautiful domestic
Assuming for the sake of argument that someone was looking for a pig in a dress in a field, your keywords would not help them find this image.
Edited to add that I looked at another from the above series and the keywords were different, but equally bad:
dog animal grass pet green puppy sheep horse canino white meadow nature farm mammal cute animal field young grazing pasture outdoors agriculture weimaraner dog black
My keywords are all using adobe automatic keywords, I did not fill in myself, but the title is my own to fill out
Theres your answer
