Upload in bulk! And get rejected in bulk.
I have tried once more and my last batch was almost 100% approved
But do you like this kind of unpredictability in reviews?
You're getting more cranky than me. Is the summer heat getting to you?
What summer? Where I mostly am, at 8 degrees from the equator, the only variation is to see the sun go from the north to the south at noon. Feels like the 123 reviews.
You ought to be here....nice 97F...feels like a soup kitchen

I thought these things happend every day. Apparently not:)
It seems I will get $2000 for a customized wood sign similar to the Istock photo. They will get full right to it, exept to resell it as a photo. I hope Cclapper got a word doc that I can make some changes to and Im ready to proceed. I feel no need to make it any harder.
They can use the photo for all eternity and Im happy with it. What could happen? I mean we sell photos for .25 that all ends up on heroturk. Can it be worse?
Thanks for all help
Make sure you get your money before sending them the full res version. Sometimes it's hard to get them to pay up after the fact. Keep that in mind.

123RF is my worst site although many talk about it being decent. I think it depends on the type of photography. I've been with them...over a year now and have never reached payout. I have over 200 photos on there and am sitting on $22.00 in earnings. I might reach payout by the year 2012. I quit uploading about 6 months ago.

Never heard of that one before Donna !!
That's a time zone in the US and Canada. We got Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific time zones here in the US.

I would think they would already know it's been sold since it is on a stock site and that's what they do...sell photos. I sold a shot to a paint company for a three year contract and was able to continue to sell the photo...just not to another paint company. I got 1800.00 for it and they never even used it.

I agree with Zues If you can do it your self Newegg & Tigerdirect are good places to buy from.
I've been visiting Tigerdirect. They have good prices. I can get an Asus motherboard and AMD processor and good size ram for less than $400.00. Asus and AMD are in the computer now and they have been good so I'd rather stick with what I know and I know are dependable. My duel graphics cards will work with the newer motherboard because they are PCi express cards. At least one good thing is I can make a little money with the old motherboard by selling photos for stock. Thanks to you all for lending me your knowledge.

Thought I'd try here first before the geeks. I had lightening strike. Computer wouldn't come on so I replaced the power supply. Got the green light on the motherboard and all the fans start turning as soon as the button is pushed, but it won't boot to the hard drive and there are no beep codes at all. Nothing. Do you think it may be my motherboard or processor that got fried along with the power supply?
I'd just look at cost of new board and cpu (or just buy a whole new pc) rather than fix a 5 year old board (or replace a board with same cpu) - it would be worth spending a hour or so exploring options. I'd look into how fast the video cards are by todays standards too, they may be they are worth keeping but tech moves on and the top stuff gets surpassed. (I have a dual pentium 4 machine that cost us over $10k (video card in it was $2k) when work bought it about 5-6 yrs ago. It doesnt even get turned on now, the $2500 dell i7 with $500 quadro card I bought early in the year leaves it for dead in every regard).
I know what you are saying. It would make more sense to rebuild with new motherboard, cpu and ram rather than trying to just replace the cpu. I know it would be much cheaper to do it myself than to go out and buy a new computer and wonder if it has quality components in it. At least if I rebuild I can go for faster cpu and more ram for better performance for a whole lot less money.

Sorry to hear about your loss.
It could have affected one or several parts in your system.
First thing I would check is if the hard drive is still working by connecting it to another desktop system.
For the rest I'd check local computer repair stores what they charge for diagnostics. Once you get an estimate you can take it from there whether it makes sense to repair or just getting a new system.
This is not going to help you now, but I hope the next thing you buy is a battery back-up with surge protector!!! I would have lost some if not all computers many times already here in South Florida. This surge protector could really save you a lot of money!
It was on a surge protector and the sad thing is I have two battery backup boxes and wasn't using either one of them. They are stuck in a box somewhere. I don't know that could have done any good. The only two things that were affected were the computer and the cable internet box. Printer, monitor, router and scanner are fine, just the most important....the computer was affected. I was really hoping it was just the power supply. I hope the hard drive is fine. If it isn't it will be fun trying to explain to Microsoft about a reinstall as well as Adobe.

This unit is about 5 years old. I have dual BFG graphics cards. Wouldn't I have to find a mother board that is compatible? I'm thinking I do but please refresh my memory.

I'd be a little wary of joining...not that I am, no way...but I'd be afraid they'd go bankrupt pretty fast and wouldn't be paying their contributors while all those photos would be showing up on these sites that buy then resale our photos in bulk packs.

Thanks gostwyck. I tryed to get them through but they insisted on model releases for the dead people. I supplied them a property release, but a model release is a bit hard to get.... I think the rule for deceased subjects is that next of kin needs to sign the model release - child, grand child - someone living
Yes they said I needed two signatures of descendant's or a will as well as a property release. These pictures were taken in the 1800's and they are ancestors back many generations. The good old studio shots. Dreamstime was the same way only they required only one signature on a model release. I didn't figure it was worth the trouble to plug up my upload slots so I'm not resubmitting. Shutterstock and Bigstock took them with just the property releases and they have been selling. Yeah, sales at istock are low for most of the people I have talked to, regardless of rejection rates.
On DT, though, rejection rate does affect search placement, so it can have an effect on your sales. Not sure how many rejections you had or how much it dropped your %, but it could theoretically have an affect at DT.
I had 13 or 14 images and they were all rejected at both sites. Not to good for the acceptance ratio.

I just uploaded 15 through deep meta and they all uploaded fine except for one. It kicked it back. When I clicked on it, it said something about iStock message empty. I'm trying to upload it again. I haven't uploaded the new version of deep meta yet so maybe thats why they went through?

Has any one noticed a drop in sales at iStock...and Dreamstime after having a large batch of rejections? I noticed this after having a bunch of photos rejected for having a property release but no model release. Antique photos. I just noticed since then both iStock as well as Dreamstime are dead in the water. Anyone else notice this or had this happen or is it just a slump in sales?

We work for scraps the way it is....giving them away for free is just idiotic. I'd just go on my way and use photography in a different way.

I agree...it does absolutely no good to question a rejection. You get the same answer twice. I only tried it once and after the rude response I got back, I never did it again.
They are the all knowing expert inspectors who have the secret wisdom to know what sells and no one else in this business knows what they are talking about and your an idiot if you ask or challenge them to a gun fight at the ok corral inspectors.
To sum it all up....they are the idiots.

Same problem here. Deleted account around the 1st....got e-mail saying log in to read...couldn't log in....contacted support through main page....they e-mailed me direct on the 7th, saying it would be 2 to 3 weeks before final payout.......got my final payout today on the 15th. Good luck to everyone else.

It would be nice if Ryan or Brian could address our concerns and suggestions and the reasons behind this sudden change to the agreement.
