Symbiostock - Suggestions / Re: Size of preview images. Maybe too big?« on: April 15, 2013, 11:21 »
I think if we have smaller previews then we would need a magnifying glass type widget to enlarge certain parts , especially with photos so customers can see what they are buying. This is something I have been thinking of anyway but not got around to

Symbiostock - Hosting / Re: How should we backup our Symbiostock site?« on: April 15, 2013, 10:59 »
Justhost - which I believe is part of the Bluehost family does automatic backups daily, weekly and monthly and you can use these to do a total back up (as I did the other day when I REALLY managed to muck WP and Symbiostock up. They also charge an annual fee if youwant to be able to retrieve certain files from your backups rather than everything. If I wanted to back up to my computer/hard disk I imagine like most of you I would need a LOT of time and more hard drives.

Check the slug - mine had 400-2 in it instead of the title, wonder if this is anything to do with it ?

I get the same with one of mine that I searched for (and I tested it on an early image that I uploaded before I started using the Yoast SEO) Perhaps this should go in the bug hunting section ?

Symbiostock - Technical Support / Re: Menu missing on mobile devices and smaller screens« on: April 15, 2013, 08:11 »
Mobile navigation works for me as well with home (although mine is not called that) categories and sub categories - sub-sub categories do not show up so could not try that all going to the correct destination. This was using android tablet and phone

Symbiostock - Development Area / Re: Adding widget to header (Translator)« on: April 15, 2013, 05:54 »
If anyone can get it right and put it in the child theme please post the code, ideally I wanted it just under or above the search box as that is the usual place to look when you want a translation on a site but it took me long enough to get it where it is

Symbiostock - Technical Support / Re: Need help with image upload and processing images« on: April 15, 2013, 05:07 »
I think Philens was probably referring to the size issue that some of us has (if an image was too big we had to edit the php.ini file in our cpanels). I am no expert but with your problem the first thing I would try is using ftp or the cpanel though your host and delete the symbiostock_image_processor.php file then reinstall it from the file you have on your computer. You may need to unzip the one on your computer to be able to extract it.
Alternatively and possibly easier, deactivate and delete the parent Symbiostock and re install the whole thing as you would do if you were installing an update I have no idea if this will work but might be worth trying in case something got changed or corrupted. 884
Symbiostock - Development Area / Re: Adding widget to header (Translator)« on: April 15, 2013, 03:07 »Works for me, Firefox 20.0.1 on Windows 7. Looked at your site in French and Chinese... Thank you. Now I know it works for someone else I will show what I have done so far. Plug in: "Translate this Button" and made my own button as did not like the one they had, I would really like to have the text in the site and add the button with just flags but that is miles beyond me. In the parent Sybiostock header.php file (which I know I will have to change every time if I cannot find a better way) ~~~~~~~~ symbiostock_above_header_nav( ); ?> </div> </div> <?php //get the search form include_once('searchform_symbiostock.php'); ?> <?php translate_this_button(); ?> <-------ADDED THIS LINE HERE </div> </div> <div class="row"> <nav role="navigation" class="site-navigation main-navigation"> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 885

Word of advice - DO NOT play with functions.php in the child theme if you do not know what you are doing. Everything goes white and your site totally disappears, everything, all gone!
Another word of advice ![]() 886
Symbiostock - Development Area / Re: Adding widget to header (Translator)« on: April 15, 2013, 02:30 »
I will have another look at that thanks Does it work/not work for anyone else? I do not want to spend a lot (more) time working it out if it does not work for most people 887
Symbiostock - Development Area / Re: Adding widget to header« on: April 15, 2013, 01:30 »
When I click on it it brings up a dropdow box with lots of flags, just
click on onr of those to get relevant translation, works on firefox and android for me 888

I am looking forward to being able to sell soon - so far I have had Google find me from Poland, Spain, Egypt, Switzerland and possibly Greece (has an unreadable alphabet (to me) anyway).

Symbiostock - Development Area / Adding widget to header (Translator)« on: April 14, 2013, 04:09 »
I have sort of added a widget to the header (that I think could be very useful for many of us) by editing the parent Symbiostock relevant php file. Does anyone know how I can do this using the child css, I have been trying for a while but have not yet been able to work it out.

Symbiostock - Suggestions / Re: Set Priority Levels for Future Development« on: April 14, 2013, 03:03 »
After my mistake when I first started uploading in not realising I would not be able to change the sizes (I thought the message meant on the individual pages)
I would really like to see more size options or way to change them all. The default bloggee size is, I feel, rather too small for detailed photos, although okay for most isolated. I did change them part way though (again not realising it would not change everything) but am still not really satisfied with the sizes I have chosen. 892
Symbiostock - Technical Support / Re: Help for the clueless?« on: April 13, 2013, 13:35 »
I think you deactivate the theme, (and possibly delete it) trash all the EULA;s (after making a copy of the contents) then delete them permanently. Then reinstall or reactivate the theme and load your data into the new EULA

I always go though publish to drafts - none of my images have descriptions so have to add them and do seo as well - somewhat time consuming but means I look at each image and many of my earlier ones I have deleted and others have re-processed as I know I can do better now than I could a few years ago - or even last year with what I have learned over the winter

Jean, your front page has a comment box which will probably draw a lot of comments in. Turn off/disable comments in all your "PAGES" as well as everything else you can find. In Settings, Discussion I select that everthing must be modified before it appears, if an email address is being used regularly I stick in in the bottom box of that page

Good:
For European Members - I have tried a few cookie permission plug ins and this one seems simplest/easiest to use UK Cookie Consent Not good: sweet captcha - intermittent use on computer and does not work with android 898

Symbiostock - General / Keyword request/Suggestion« on: April 13, 2013, 06:12 »
Having had some anomalies come up when I was doing keyword search I have a request/suggestion.
If anyone is linked to me and notices anything obviously wrong with my keyword results please let me know, I am fully aware things do not always come out how I intend. Would anyone object if we made this a general thing about letting each other know? Sometimes words just need to be made into a phrase rather than listed singly to make them right It is not exactly policing each other but when you are linked to someone else and a client is searching you want things to look right ![]() 900

I think we should keep the word licence in there somewhere - maybe Checkout/Licencing - the little shopping cart gives a big clue anyway
