New Sites - General / Re: AbsolutVision
September 06, 2008, 09:45
Absolutvision has been around for a long time.

I have worked with them in the past. The oldest part of my portfolio is there.

They will require to view thumbs of your images and then choose they ones they like. They
will not accept any garbage quality images. You just give them the right to sell your images only through their main website and pay you a one time fee of 5$ for it ( you would think that after all these year they would offer more than 5$ :) )

I would only recommend it to those in great need of money right away.

Makes you think why it is a problem to switch over.
I wish they would change this.

Many of us from the Euro zone, when we signed up, were taken automatically to the US site and didn't give it much thought then.
If they have different  geographical sites , then why not have the relevant contributors in their respective zones.
It only makes sense!

Maybe contributors should campaign more for this.

I totaly agree. EU here too...

Just FYI if any other illustrators/vector artists were wondering, according to Alex the EVO program is currently only open to photographers, but will be opened to illustrators at some point.

I'm an illustrator an I got a nice invitation for EVO . :)

The inactivity timeout time on the site is rediculous. There have been times I had to reupload the 5 images 3 times because I didn't press the process button in time ... >:(

I'm probably going to get someone to do all my uploading and submitting starting June... The best offer I got
is uploading and submiting to 10-15 sites at 0.8€/image.

Adobe Stock / Re: What is up with Fotolia??
April 13, 2008, 08:04
I've haven't had a rejection for like a year on fotolia. It's my top selling agency and I'm 154 images from Emerald which will double my income there.

I will have to agree that they probably raised their quality standards lately. I'm sure if good quality shots of subjects related to one of their conceptual categories a taken, they'll definately accept them.

Cheers

For example, will you guys (and gals) still keep your images on SS, since having images on SS might cannibalize IS subs sales (which will probably have higher royalties)?

I submit to some midstock sites. You could say that I'm killing my sales there by selling on IS. It's not like that. Each site has it's own customers and also there is a high probablility SS will respond to this with sine other plan.

If only the first seven keywords worked .. they wouldn't allow you to enter more  :P

Heheh thanks for the tip ;)

Actully I get several custom design requests from people who visited my website. I also get several newsletter subscribers who are interested in info about the new designs I make each month.

I agree with you Patrick. XS was not cool....
#21
Ok got it . Thanks for all the info guys...

I think this is a direct hit towards SS's market.

"Packages will start for as little as $96/month. "  They seem to adding some super flexible packages. I'm sure it will be good for the buyers.. Not sure about our comission though...

Let's see who will make contributors happy ? SS's raise annouced in May , or IS's new subscription plan announced also in May ?  Who ever offers less might face a big headache on their forums . :-\..

I do it alot. I even sell graphics packs myself.

here is it :) http://www.3pod.gr Would love your comments.

I'm $4 short of making my first $100 there but there is a big slowdown during last week.

Let's wait and see :)

Ok . Right now I'm on like 20 agencies. All the classic big ones and many many, many small ones.

1. Each website has it's own customers. As a good friend said.. customer do not move from one site to another in search of the lowest price.. the prices are low as they are and noone would do a big research to find the place that sells $2 cheaper...

2. Each agency has ads and promos in different media and different countries. This means there are customers for all of them .

3. My personal opinion is that the most exposure you get, the better. I have several clients who now buy lots custom designs from me. Those client saw my work on low selling sites and contacted me.

4. A low selling site attracts less artists. This means less competition for your images which means more exposure.

Cheers :)
