I'm not sure where you're looking but there is a sales section where all your sales are recorded month to month.
If you click on your name then my account. Then click on your name again and click on contributor you should see the sales tab.
Its a little hidden but still there. I also get emails when someone downloads an item but I probably ticked something years ago to send emails.

I think the buyer himself doesnt know exactly what kind of video he needs. He searches for different videos using several tags and looks at what ideas are implemented. Then he buys the video he needs. The buyer cannot be the creator of the video; few people can do this. To do this you need to have imagination, know and understand a lot.
This is true up to this point. But when Sora goes live I'm thinking buyers may search the stock sites for what they would like in a project and then prompt it to fit exactly what they need (so bypassing our clips). Up until now they download content that just about fits their needs, but imagine if they could get the general idea from us (off the stock sites) and make it their own using Sora, and possibly change the video generation a bit to be perfect for the project. I'm sure us content creators could use Sora to create unthinkably amazing clips. But I'm worried that this would be easily copyable. I'm not sure what to make of it all. All I know is that AI Video is the worst it will be right now. Give it another year and wow, everything's changed.

There used to be someone on here years ago who was looking to buy people's portfolios outright. He bought at least 2 or 3 peoples portfolios if I remember correctly. He would turn up once or twice a year and ask if anyone was interested. He had all the paperwork and legal stuff already organized and I think he had a way of contacting the agencies to move them all over to 1 port. The last time I saw him in here was at least 5 or 6 years ago. You'd have to do some digging to find the threads. It is possible but the purchaser needs to do the legal work by the sounds of it?

That was a really well put together film. Think it captures what a lot of us are thinking. I really like how he/they made it pretty much entirely out of AI-generated images and video. It was nice to see Grotty Corners in there. Cheers for sharing.

Dear Forum Members,
I recently faced a challenging situation and am seeking your insights. This was my first time participating in a submission process for a free collection, where I contributed 80 clips. Admittedly, I had hoped for at least a 10% acceptance rate, but none were selected.
This outcome has admittedly shaken my confidence as a stock footage creator. Rejection isn't easy for anyone. I'm left wondering if the quality of my assets was not up to par or if there were other factors at play.
I would greatly appreciate any feedback or advice from this community. Have any of you experienced something similar? What could be the reasons behind such a decision?

Hi Daniel. I wouldn't take it personally. I think many factors are at play. I think they review videos depending on the Free Collection aims and demands. I think 10% acceptance is about right but out of the ones accepted in my portfolio, they chose videos that I thought were pretty poor and the better ones they chose not to accept. Also if you had only 80 for review then your chances for selection are even smaller (80 is quite a small number in the grand schemes of things). Anyways I would't let it knock your confidence at all. Maybe they thought all your videos are to strong for the free collection

OMG I've been Hikerman many times too (my new name for that role). Loved the video and just great to have a reminder that there are still a few of us out there filming stuff we find beautiful (sometimes in the mundane) and acting like we accomplished something in nature when really we traveled by car, got a MacDonalds on the way and got a mate to film us pondering life's big questions. Loved it!

I can see the reasons why you're doing this. I've thought about it myself along the way. You have a large catalog of clips and think heck why shouldn't I just sell my own clips and bring fellow contributors along with me? The times we're living in are difficult/different from the past. TBH the next generation don't see an issue with subscriptions and as everyone can now pretty easily capture decent enough footage then the price falls. It's all a numbers game.
I do see an issue with you hating the subscription method but you yourself have priced the clips directly into that category. You can download 500 clips for 990 euros. So thats 1.98 per download. Minus 50% leaves the contributor with 0.99 per download. Thats not taking in the fact that a partner can pay 5000 but after that can have (free) downloads forever.
Unless my numbers are wrong then your selling an idea that contributors could potentially receive the $100+ for a single download from times gone by when realistically it's under a dollar.
I'm not hating, just stating that the prices are not too far away from subscriptions anyway.
Good luck though and I applaud you for giving it a go.
However I feel the future is in AI though. Look at what Pika Labs are doing in AI video. It's amazing. I'm keeping a close eye on it as it can potentially do for video what midjourney did for images/illustration.

Any asset that was created with or enhanced by generative AI software must be submitted as an illustration. This is not possible with video files. We do not accept generative AI video content at this time. If that changes in the future, I'll be sure to post here in MSG.

I've got some money to my account yesterday but no email notification.
Should I expect the email to come? I'm completely in the dark what I'm being paid for. Is it for photos I nominated at the beginning of June? Is it for videos? No idea.
Anyone else with the same situation?
Yes me too. I received a nice sum of money yesterday but no email notification. I went through my spam and trash but I didn't receive any adobe email. It would be nice to know how many and which clips were selected just out of curiosity.

From the first picture you posted of the Orb. I saw something very similar 10 or so months ago. I live in a quiet village in the UK with little light pollution so I often wonder outside in my back garden and stargaze. I've seen some really cool meteors etc. Anyways I was looking up one night and saw something moving at a constant speed across the sky. It was orb-shaped and very high up and it shone a triangular light in front of it. I thought it was a plane with a landing light on but after more research into it I dont think it was. As it went towards the horizon the triangular light faded quickly and the orb just kept traveling until it was too small to see. I checked all the rocket launches that night and could find any. It was really high up.
Lastly, my dad in the 1960's when he was a young teenager saw a UFO or UAP. He never talks about it as I think he's embarrassed to tell people. He was walking home one early wintery evening and above the trees in a small wood he took for a shortcut was a circular UFO with many lights pulsating in movement. He said a few people saw it that night and it made the news in our local paper, but like I said he never talks about it although as a kid I always wanted to know much more. He said it was just hovering above the trees for a few minutes and then shot off somewhere really quickly.
I do find all this interesting, especially with all the USA Air Force pilots saying they see them very regularly.

Is it only me who didn't get nothing ?
There's a couple of people on the Facebook page who reported had got nothing. Then there is another who reported $300 so probably varies a lot across contributor portfolios.
I received $330 with a portfolio dominantly video. I thought it was a bug showing parts of last month's royalties as I've witnessed that in the past. Not known it to last over a day or 2 so who knows? I'll keep the $330 though if its in error

In the UK were only getting 6 per clip which when using a currency converter into $ is only $6.68.
Matt I feel in the volatile world in which we live in today Adobe should be checking currency rates on a monthly basis. It can't be too hard right? Do you know if the company is looking into this? Even when the rates come down I feel it's still in the best interest for the company as then artists don't feel like they are at a disadvantage just because of the country they are from.

and you continue to pose the false narrative that these AI are copying images to create new ones. Even those agencies banning AI do not make that unsupportable claim. instead, they are concerned about the training of AI which is an entirely different issue
Then how do you think this works?
Let's take for example the picture that was supposed to be a 19th century naval battle that you created some some ago with the AI. How do you think the AI created this? Clearly it did not learn what a naval battle is, because the picture did not show one. So either it looked on the spot for pictures with a 19th century naval battle in description or keywords and created a similar image, or what it thought is similar or else during the training most of the information from the images the AI was treined must have been written into a massive database and then the AI created the image from that information. Either way, it used more or less directly existing images to create your images. What other way is there?
Clearly the Ai did not make the jump to understand the images it was trained to understand that a naval battle requires ships fighting with each other in water, so it could not for example create a photo realistic image with water and sailing ships, but the style of the image clearly showed that it was created with old oil paintings a a basis. The AI was not able to abstract from that.
I don't want to beat around the bush but all art is copied (influenced) from somewhere else. Music is famously known for it. If I had to make a 19th century naval battle the first thing I'd do is google and look at all the pictures and see how they were composed, mood, structure etc. Let's be honest who wouldn't? Before the internet, I'm sure many an artist would walk into galleries and research and study other painters' techniques. The way we need to use this new means of creation is to add it to our bucket of already made skills and create something unique. That's the way I see it anyways.

I don't want to be the guy thinking of smart words of creating an great AI image.
I want to be the guy that that takes a photo of an actual landscape, person or happening. I want to be thinking about composition, light and technique or maybe even having the lucky opportuntiy to take a once in a lifetime shot when a rare situation occurs.
Sorry, that I am not embracing the future with all of it's new capabillities, like DALL-E, but I think it will be a total waste of human's capabillities and good things will truly get lost by it.
It will be really sad if AI programmes could reach the point that they would replace us (by using our work to begin with).
I see AI as a new means of adding to my creative inputs. You (we) still need the traditional skills as we always will but like all of technology from the first camera obscure to the digital ones we have today. They are tools to capture a moment in time or to capture a thought or inspiration. I see AI as a new tool to help us generate something that could have been impossible or out of reach before it was invented. Question about the AI software itself. Can you specify a folder of artwork to draw from, or does it always just scrape the internet?
Could I just tell it to draw fom my folder of my images, to avoid copyright problems? Might be a way to create some new images to sell but not having to shoot any more.
I know about Dall-E and midjourney, what are some other brands? Anyone recommend one that theyve used?
With midjourney you can upload your own image and it will use this to draw it's reference from. You can add a weight prompt to tell it what % to reference your image. So if your weight is high it will look very similar to your original image. Not sure if you can upload more than 1 image at any 1 time. I haven't got that far yet

It looks like it's happening way faster than I thought. https://makeavideo.studio/Remember the above link is still in its infancy. It's a double-edged sword for me. I'm really excited by this new way of creation and think how I can involve and evolve my skills into AI (which I'm doing) but also acknowledge that this will have a big impact on our industry (I've been a full-time stock video producer or 12+ years). Exciting but also a daunting time ahead. We must evolve people to keep up with the pace as it will not ever slow down.
